Has Blizzard ever acknowledged this or said anything in regards to how Backstabbing in SC2 will be dealt or even possible?
I for one would love for backstabbing to be allowed, maybe even display it as a stat with how many times you turned on your team. I love to backstab and I will get shit for this but oh well.
It gives the sense of realism, much like hostility does. Be funny if SC kept Backstab but Diablo is scared of hostility.
Maybe I can still have faith and hope in the SC team for not carebearing their product like Diablo is doing.
Betrayel can be a big part of the game. Make you keep wary of your allies. Although sometimes it can be annoying but then again it could make an interesting battle. I dont think they kept this though.

Yea excuse you?
Take a look. the Diablo devs are butchering the Diablo formula because it is to "complicated" or because they are simply bad at Diablo. They flaunt rainbows and unicorns like it's no joke. Do you see the starcraft devs doing that? See them throwing out gameplay systems cause it took an average IQ to understand and use? Face it, Diablo devs suck at Diablo and clearly have not shown anything but unicorns and rainbow t shirts. Just cause they added more blood doesn't mean the game isn't carebear as it caters to the low IQ and bad at video games click.

first off, Hello. I've checked these forums nearly everyday for 3 years. I don't know why I finally decided to post but here goes.
1) I hope backstabbing remains an element of SC2. I don't play a lot of SC, and I'm not that great of an RTS player, but removal of this element would greatly reduce the fun of playing, especially in a Lan setting among friends.
2) Enough with the rainbows and unicorns crap. It was a joke, blizzard often does such things. And besides it was damn funny, I mean come on, all people were doing after seeing less than 10mins of gameplay was bitching about this and that and how "soft" it was...
3) As far as "dumbing the game down" goes... First off, the game isn't even close to half completed. If you had seen all the pre-release notes and production and trial and error that went into D2 you very likely would have said the EXACT same thing. After all look how much more user... err I mean noob friendly D2 was compared to D1.
4) Everytime I see someone complain about auto-stats or respec or many of the other "noob" additions to D3 I sigh and laugh. This being because while many people don't like these changes, many of us do. And I'm talking about the good players of D2. All to often people whom frequently post on a fan-site or forum think that they must be the only hardcore players of D2. But there's a lot more of us out there than that, maybe we don't play anymore but I mean come on it's been 5+ years since the game was big.
5) Whether you liked one particular feature of D2 is irrelevant when developers are designing a new and different game. Also many of the things we all got used to or maybe even liked were in fact broken systems. They did not function as intended and whether or not it added an element of difficulty is also irrelevant.
Now I'm not flaming you, I do respect your opinion and I think it's important that Blizzard gets feedback from all D2 players, especially the better ones. I'm just pointing out some of the reasons as to why I've chosen to put my faith in Blizzard. Besides after all faith is all we really have, they don't have to listen to us, and we will most likely buy and play D3 relentlessly.

Haha..yea the rainbows and unicorns were a joke which were funny for a few people I suppose but what have they shown beside that? Having played the game which I understand if not complete or near completion I didn't find anything that really made me feel suspensed or anything Diabloish beyond killing lots of monsters. Sure there was blood and gore but there is more to it then that.
And these broken systems in Diablo 2 really weren't that broken. Just as people say that Diablo doesn't have real PvP. You talk as if you are a good player which you could be, but if you are then you must see my point regarding PvP and you cannot deny the fact that they have removed parts of Diablo for no reason other then the fact that they themselves couldn't use a very easy system as you have already stated or they feel that the fanbase of Diablo are rejects who cannot comprehend to hit W. Auto stats are a mute issue and go against what Blizzard themselves are trying to accomplish.
Heres another awesome thing...guess what I found in the demo of D3....was it the butcher? Was it some bad ass monster? Nope..I found a god damn rainbow.
I think they need to lay off the jokes and actually show that they arn't full of crap then they can joke.
Blizz hasn't said anything about the pvp system yet, so I don't see how they are making it noobish. If anything I would be willing to bet that pvp in D3 will be better than ever since they are finally putting some effort into it. And as far as weapon swap goes, that was a constantly abused systems of which all of us are guilty. Sure you may say if everyone can do it than it's not a problem but that doesn't change the fact that it's a broken system. It doesn't work as intended. Furthermore the removal of weapon swap will actually make the game more challenging, which I for one believe is a good thing.

Doesn't really matter if you feel it will be more challenging or not, cause it really won't make that big of a difference. The fact that their reason for doing so was cause that it was complicated and that cause it was "abused" which...I don't see how it was abused? People used the other hand to buff their character...ok..so would me putting items in my inventory and using them like they did before weapon switch really change that much? They have yet to really give anyone a good reason for removing or changing a system that was proven to work and work good.
Nice dodge their umpa, face it the Starcraft team didn't waste their time with making jokes or removing systems in the game that have proven to be good and work good cause they didn't carebear it. Their first models were called soft and light and not Starcraftish..did they go and make a unicorn character...or wait..did they add rainbow flames on the marines...no they looked at their stuff and said yea...my stuff is kinda light lets make this more badass. Diablo gets the same critiqe and they remove systems with no reasons other then "We know what we are doing cause we suck at Diablo" and they throw rainbows in their demos and make t shirts..I don't know if I was a business man I would hire SC team over Diablo team cause the SC team took care of its fans..
Well since you cannot just pop a tp anytime anywhere and be safe when you go into your inventory to change said weapons and gear (think MF) the game will be more challenging. Just because a system works doesn't mean it isn't broken. If you were building a new pc and you had a fan which ran at 40% efficiency would you still use that fan in your new pc? (assume that although broken the fan would still allow your pc to run without incurring dmg). I wouldn't, and that's exactly what the people at blizzard are doing.
Plus they have to balance the game, which is going to be different than D2. I mean wasn't D2 vastly different than D1? And anyone expecting D3 to be an upgraded version of D2 is fooling themselves. Besides who would buy that? Different story/better graphics? Who cares about that, Diablo (the game) has never been about that stuff anyway.
As far as feel goes, I don't think D2 has even 1% of the feel that D1 had, and it's still a great game.

your right don't even make a new game just make the graphics better and call it diablo 3.
Just a heads up but most of your arguments are really really really bad. They are taking things out of diablo 2 because its an old game and it had many problems. Yes lets have a fun pvp system where the winner is the person with the most potions? There is no real reason you need weapon switch? Is the game going to be to hard for you if it is not in the game? Because i know I'm going to tear shit up. I don't see how removing things that 1. makes the game harder and more challenging 2. makes the game more balanced. Makes the game carebear? lol

It is quiet easy to add systems to a game, and if you are gonna remove systems buddy atleast come up with a better excuse then that you suck at the game and found it confusing.
Obviously you have never really PvP'd. I mean I know the PvP crowd in Diablo are 90% bad and rely on potions or a team to kill anything or anyone but thats cause you lack the skill needed to do anything solo. Removing weapon switch doesn't alter the difficulty at all, in fact it makes it easier for me to kill you, now how does removing weapon switch make the game balanced? So by balanced you mean remove any sort of system in which someone can gain skill in and thus beat an unskilled person in..so lets remove namelock while we are at it no?
Nice dodge their umpa, face it the Starcraft team didn't waste their time with making jokes or removing systems in the game that have proven to be good and work good cause they didn't carebear it.

Sorry but I don't see how that's a logical metaphor. Because as we all know replacing a broken fan with a new one is an improvement, however removing your leg for any reason (other than to save your life from infection) is not an improvement.
