Noticed that but in a way I'm happy with it too since it makes finding natural lava sources more valuable also with the need for miners to create obsidian onsite.

Heh welcome Phrozen... If you want you can use my mine across the lake form the /home spawn or emulate it somewhere else.
And speaking of which, I wanted to share some info regarding mining efficiency: Bedrock & Branching vs Spelunking. From what I've read and seen on youtube vids, Spelunking (scouting natural caves for exposed ore) is a good way to get started. Later on however when you're looking for gold, diamond, and other valuable stuff you will need to work in the lowest layers because that's only where it spawns. Natural caves don't always give you access to those layers so it makes sense to just bore until you hit bedrock then carve out a horizontal grid between layers 6 and 16.

I'll probably wait until they update the graphics a tad though, usually I'm one of those gameplay > graphics types, but the blocks... oh the blocks. If they didn't have height variation for land with the blocks, I'd be all up in that bandwagon.

Oh, nononono it's not the textures, but just the actual height differences, I was hoping he'd update them to be a bit smoother, instead of just the chunky blocks.
But anywho, will probably buy the game in 2 or 3 weeks.

Ok lava can spawn above level 10 now, which sucks.
Also, blocks just keep "popping" back sometimes when I cut them down. Holds true for props like torches as well. I assume this due to it being multiplayer?

@zhar- you should definitely getthe game. And if it is any conselation prize, there are half blocks and stairs you can make so you don't have to jump around everywhere.
@phrozen- yes you can make new imgs for tools and everything actually. There is a contest right now to create your own texture pack that I was planning on doing. I was obviously going to do some diablo themed one. If you have any ideas please share them and I will try to make them. Also16x16 pxl is the size format that works without any bugs although there are some more hi-df ones but they always froze for me.

I'm throwing up a small example mine as a suggestion for how to form our (eventually) huge mining network.
Also, can you get custom icons as well as skins? If so, we need a Diablo theme for everything!

And monsters are turned off, because health doesnt work. (Why? Imagine a Creeper standing there blowing up all your crap. I'd be pissed! Lol.)
