So.. what do you think? Is there going to be some new info or even a trailer of the new upcoming Warcraft film this year at Blizzcon 08' ?
I think they sure will make some panel to discuss some of the stuff in the movie, after all they didn't give us any info about it, and the movie is planned to be released at 2009.
No, live action. At least last I heard anything about it, which was a while ago. I don't know if it's still set to be produced or if it ground to a halt, but either way, I don't think we'll hear anything of significance at Blizzcon.
EDIT: Scratch that. Last time we heard anything was at the last Blizzcon I think. Then I think the chances are pretty good we'll hear something here.
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
Blizzard should just do the CGI work themselves, throw in a few hollywood actors to do the voices, Legendary Pictures to distribute and fund, and it should be pretty good.
That way Uwe Boll cannot touch it, I won't have to look at Orlando Bloom yet again looking like an elf, and Blizzard will have almost total control over the project, which they bloody should.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

I'd have much more faith in the outcome if this were to be the case. The Hollywood touch would be death; most especially if Boll is involved.
All I know is that the movie is scheduled for release in 2009 and that's it's going to be live action. They probably won't release any news or trailer for another couple of months if everything's going good. Now, if Uwe Boll as something to do with this and the movie is a bad one then I will surely kick him in the balls for all of us. One last thing, the movie isn't going to be part of the main Warcraft 3 storyline. It will probably tell the story of some man from a little village who does something out of the ordinary one day and then comes in contact with the outside world.

I like the life I lived, because I went from negative to positive.
You know very well who you are, don't let them hold you down, reach for the stars.
In the MTV article, Boll goes on to say that he spoke with Blizzard about helming the WoW movie: “I got in contact with Paul Sams of Blizzard, and he said, ‘We will not sell the movie rights, not to you…especially not to you. Because it’s such a big online game success, maybe a bad movie would destroy that ongoing income, what the companyhas with it.”
Anyway, like you mentioned, there was a panel of the warcraft movie at the blizzcon 2007, that's why i'm wondering if there will be any new info about the movie in the next blizzcon this year.. i hope so..Anyway here's a nice and cool vid that also show's a bit of the 'Hints' he give on the next diablo game (diablo 3) before it was acnnoucned, it's nice to remember those days..
I won't have to look at Orlando Bloom yet again looking like an elf
oh my god!
Orlando Bloom in red (or pink, we had such in WoW too) robes with long fluffy hair playing Blood Elf... would definitely suit him!
seriously now, i'd like to see some official info about it. At least about the plot. Will it be previous to WoW or something to even expand the lore as it is.
Warcraft is so much colourful... i wonder how they will make it into a live action movie, maybe they should wait for James Cameron to finish Avatar and then get him to do something as great for Warcraft.
With both Blizzard and Legendary Pictures being very busy all my fingers (and other certain parts of my body) are crossed, hoping this won´t go the way that Halo movie went. Blizzcon 2008 will one way or another clearify this.

If there is a Jebus Christ out there, this would be proof...
I certainly hope that they do it as CGI, the WC3 game cinimatics were stunning enough to say the least. Years later, imagine what they could do now.
I already pre-ordered WotLK, I seriously would consider calling off work to see this movie the day it comes out... And the next... And the next...
Blizzard doesn't want their movie o seem like another Lord of the Rings, so i kinda doubt they'd use any actors from LOtR. I was very happy to hear that Blizzard did their research (or maybe just saw one of Boll's movies) and turned him down. Warcraft isn't the kind of movie that would make a good Boll interpretation. He tends to strip games of everything that made them original. I mean, he put the Bloodrayne movie back in time, and made her just a "regular" vampire. WHY? That destroys what set her apart from other movies of that type.

I think the guys at Blizzard are just regular people too(only with vastly more money), and, even if they werent, any living being knows how much does Uwe Boll´s "movies" suck. Just ask the most stupid snail you can find on the street and it´ll tell you "ew! that shit is worse than my shit" and then it would start to run as fast as it could (bring some salt).
My idiotic ex-girlfriend told me to avoid House of the dead like the plague. And she hated me at the time.
I do not care if he shits them that way pourposedly, those things should not exist.

They should make the warcraft move 2 test the waters and learn from it. Before they think about making a Diablo movie. Even though a warcraft movie will make billions anyway.

legendary pictures is directing it so i have faith that the live action is going to be good. (same people who directed 300) i watched a video of a panel of blizzard employees talking about it, and they quite clearly said that. so it should be good
anyways on a side note i remember reading that it takes like 1 week of work for 1 guy to get 3-6 seconds of cinematic done.
- It will be a mix of live action and computer animation
what the hell does that mean....?

Ok.. so.. some bad news, Warcraft movie has been delayed to 2011 as for now.. (sucks)..

It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.

When it comes out i'm gettin' ma friends in front of the plasma and we are gonna SO nerd it out
I'm laughing just thinking about it.
I have visions of it being Dungeons & Dragons (the film with Matthew Lillard) bad.
Really bad.

To find the truth, you must risk everything.

It's good to see someone say that to Boll, though. The man should be run out of the business, altogether.
So any idea anyone if some new info is going to be presented at Blizzcon ?
