Wow.. so they still haven't added the HC RMAH and they're devaluing my 26KDPS/+324% gold find set AND capping it... so when do we get to sell our characters in the RMAH? once blizzard decides its game is whole?
So in reality the best gold farmer is going to be the people who clear Act 3 inferno with their 'freedom' of hundreds of thousands of DPS... so the next gold find set is Crit/Crit dmg/Pickup radius?
GREAT changes. MF amulets and helms will be about the only thing you need. If you had approximately 75% from those two slots you would theoretically be MF capped by Paragon level 75. If you had max MF in those two slots you could be capped by level 68.
All and all I think this is mostly good news...but I'm rather opposed to MF gear to begin with. I'm pretty happy that I focused on low and mid lvl MF gear atm.
nobody knows or nobody wants to answer my question?
Would make absolutely no sense for it to be account wide ... 100% sure it's per character.
i have 10 characters on level 60 - 5 on hardcore and 5 on softcore - if Paragon-Levels are per character it would mean i'm forced to pick one character and play only that one character for the next months to maybe hit Paragon-Level 100
that would really suck in my opinion!
I feel you on this, i have 4 level 60s. hopefully it will be account wide. but i dont think it will. probably going to have to pick one char to play.
mmm...MF cap is not an issue, it was already there in a fashion....removing MF from gear is not something I like much...some players prefer to take a risk wearing MF gear relying on their own skills to beat the game and to get some reward for it, even if sometimes that reward is just knowing that you can do it.
Paragon levels may be a good idea, I hope the system is "per character" and not "per account".
Anyway with this Blizz should be able to buy enough time to work properly on 1.1, which I think will be the "real" release of this game.
MF/GF should never have been a part of the system to begin with, its about time they realize this. Now if only they had listened to there beta testers to begin with.............
How will it work with the expansion? If they raise the level cap... how is that going to work? Do people that are still paragon lvl 1 just get a bunch of free attribute points or what?
i liked what i read until this part
"With the Paragon system in place, we’re capping Magic Find and Gold Find to 300%"
Me also, I don't mind an MF cap, but if it could kindly be around the same level I could get pre-MF cap, that would be ideal.
It doesn't state, but I assume shrine MF also goes above cap.
Also, I guess MF gems in helm are pointless now, so everyone will be running more life than before.

This.
I sent Blizzard emails, made posts, EVEN WROTE AN ARTICLE about why MF/GF shouldn't be on gear, or even in the game at all (unless in a system like this). They didn't listen.
i'm not sure about the impact Paragon levels will have on the game as there will be no new content that need to be uber-power... This is grind for the sake of grind except for the addition of legendaries.
I believe we'll be seeing an endless dungeon at some point, be prepared
Lets add something ridiculously grindy that adds nothing to the end game at all except more pointless grind which is what the entire game is already about?
I'm not saying the addition is "negative" but it adds absolutely NOTHING meaningful to the game, its the exact same old dribble yet people somehow think this is worth playing the game again?
Are people so stuck up in their desires for a game to tell them they're making progress (even if they're wasting their lives on it) that they become so pathetic to think this change alone is their saviour?
What a joke. Diablo doesn't even deserve the title of game anymore and everyone that's liking this is a sad little pawn that needs to get a fucking grip of reality.

It's not even "let's add new content so players keep having fun!!" it's "let's add 'new content' so players keep using the RMAH"
After a little time to think I'm actually kind of glad about this, and I hope they phase out MF and GF from items sooner rather than later.
This is something that will seriously impact botters, in multiple ways:
Firstly, blizzard had difficulty detecting some bots as they were no longer gaining XP from most things, so they couldn't easily analyze funny XP gains, or extended ones. This fixes that system, at least temporarily.
When a bot gets banned at the moment it is a 9 hour process (non legit) and a 15 hour process manually to get that bot up to level. Presently they will still be there and having to buy MF and GF gear, but when that gear gets removed.... the best bots in the game will perform worse than players who have manually levelled to that max or close to it.
Also, this means that if someone bots on a max level character, they are running the risk of losing more than $50 + 12ish hours of downtime, they are losing a month long time investment, probably more. I think that this is an amazing step on Blizzards behalf, and one of the first things they have done that will actually penalize botters and goldfarmers/spammers alike. (I said the Gold aspect of the RMAH would do nothing to botters or goldspammers due to Blizzards stupid cap, and lo and behold...)
I am concerned about one thing though. If they want to make MF and GF not exist on items, why does it exist on some of the legendaries they are patching into the game? Wouldn't it make more sense to remove the affix and suffix entirely from freshly rolled legendaries?
I've always said that attaching MF to gear was asking for trouble (no really, check my post history )... but I'm a little unsure about putting such a low cap on MF. It seems a little punitive to make the cap less than the maximum attainable value pre 1.04.
Even tho they cap MF / GF at 300 (375 with stacks) we must remember the factor 4 chance for normals to drop rares. And with 300 MF i pretty often se rares from normals without the factor 4. So I'm pretty excited about this.
This patch is bringing D3 out of the beta for sure.
They released, took some hard time from fans, listened, fixed it and sometime next week they are releasing. That's sweet music to my ears, but clearly bots will have all the grinding advantage here, which is pretty sad.
But FUCK YEAH! This is great work Blizzard!
*clap*
Looking at the ridiculous amount of time needed to get to paragon level 100 (as far as we know), this system is only good in theory. In pratice, most of us simply don't play enough to even get near paragon 100, and will be wearing MF gear until the heat-death of the universe, and will therefore be best served by gear-swapping until then, too. If Blizzard want most, or even half of the people in Inferno to be in a situation where MF gear-swapping isn't the best option, they'll have to chop at least an order of magnitude off the paragon leveling curve.
Also, I really can't see how a (D2 style) expansion is going to fit into this. It was D2:LOD that lit a fire under D2's item hunt, but with D3 we're there already. I can't see how an expansion can't be either massively disruptive (lose all your paragon levels and introduce WoW-style stat-decay) or an underwhelming footnote.
