As mentioned a few days ago, five Diablofans staff members are going to BlizzCon: Mockery, Umaro, Thasador, Silversurfnstud and Medievaldragon. A thread was opened to collect questions from fans to ask the developers.
I am traveling on Wednesday, October 8th -- I am not able to say why so early, but you can take your guesses. I will be able to forward some of the questions in private, and some of the questions live on the Diablo III Q&A panels.
Here is what we need you to do. This time around, the community can work together and help to decide which questions are best qualified.
1. Open Notepad or any text editor
2. Simply list the best 10 questions from the following closed thread which contains 102 posts.
3. At the right of each selected question type the post # and the name of who submited the question.
By Monday evening, I will streamline and pick what the concensus was with the best 20 questions. I will report what these were and double check again with you. By Tuesday, I will have the final questions.
Make sure to check up Diablofans through Wednesday, October 8-11. Any of the staff going to BlizzCon will be updating with info, images and video. However, the important part is that those who watch DIRECTV live or the live stream from WCRadio or other livestreams can listen to the Diablo III Art panel, Lore Panel, etc. And at the end we will have the Q&A Panel.
If I get my hands on a laptop, I will post official Q&A panel threads to grab questions based on what was told in the early panels, and the five of us might have a shot at asking One or two questions each to the developers.

In Diablo II, if you took the time to really enjoy every detail, playing it the second time around, there was a feel of 'I know what to do next. I remember this guy was here, I know I have to do this to get to this.' It didn't even take 3 or 4 completions.
How is Diablo III going to improve upon that if at all?

Arkilae #38 To what extent has God of War affected Diablo III's gameplay? Will we see combos, fatalities, and minigame monster fights all thrown in to keep the combat fresh for close combat characters?
How God of War and Diablo III will be making love is all I want to know about. I don't care about any thing else then about how they will incorporate elements from both games.
Is there going to be a world drop table that is different from the loot we get from bosses and minibosses and perhaps more specific loot tables so that casters, for example, know generally where to look for items, and how are they going to design end-game to be challenging and varied so that it doesn't come down to farming several bosses. - post #33 - Dimebog

How will the lack of town portals effect co-operative play. One of the best parts of the town portal was when a new player joined an existing game they could quickly catchup to the players in the game by being given a townportal. It sounds like the current direction is, "make it a bigger decision to go to town" but won't that make grouping up more cumbersome? - post #99 - Yrcyn

My question would be: is there going to be a world drop table that is different from the loot we get from bosses and minibosses. Is there going to be incentive to go around and fight monsters in different areas or is it just going to come down to grinding a couple of bosses with no specific loot tables at all. In other words, are they going to reward the player for exploring all areas in the game, and are there going to be more specific loot tables so that casters, for example, know generally where to look for items. Is there going to be a variety in what to kill and what loot to get?

Here's my list. I tried putting it in order of importance too.

JNM-illiquid: #79 Diablo PVPing has always been an aspect of what truly made diablo what it is; uniquely bold and not watered down as most games of today are. How will you expand upon diablo2's pvp system without losing alot of the charm found in d2 pvp?

basekick: #8 How similar will the skill tree be to Diablo 2? For example, will all characters be using Mana to cast our spells? Will we be having the same progression-type skill tree as in Diablo 2? And will synergies make a return?
Romak: #15 Won't Blizzard oppose d2jsp?
AcidReign: #14 Are there any revolutionary ideas or content planned for Diablo III that may influence all other Blizzard games, or for that matter, the entire gaming industry? What I'm primarily asking is, will there be anything brand new to the Action-RPG genre that you'll introduce in Diablo III?

The mercenary system of diablo2 was nice, but the equipping of them was very limited, and you could not customize skills, here are a few questions about mercenaries. Will you Be Able to name your mercenary? Will your mercenary change looks depending on what you equip him with? Will your mercenary have a limited skill customization, or occasionally yell things during combat? (more interactive) Will your mercenary have an inventory to store things? (i never saw why they could not carry items in d2, haha)

#31USNSEALs - Pertaining to that, Diablo II didn't have much storyline or that feeling you get when you read a book; it had cinematics between Acts, but maybe a few minutes, as compared to the roughly 5 hours of gameplay. How will Diablo III be more immersed in the story, the feeling of being in an entirely other world and learning that world every minute, as opposed to fighting monsters for a quest with a short story you received from an NPC and a cinematic between Acts?
#53 jwest88 - Are lower level skills still going to be useful when we have higher level skills later on in the game? Or will we feel like we need to save our skill points for higher level skills
#78 5speed - …death mechanic. How are they going to prevent check point spawn mf runs? Say... there is a super chest and a check point right before it. You open the superchest, go kill yourself and open the chest again. Maybe there will be a unique boss right after a checkpoint that isn't big enough by himself to give you another checkpoint when you kill him but give good drops.. so you kill him and die right after, and keep killing him. I'm worried that the death checkpoint idea will create super MF runs. Also, what will prevent people from bringing lots of monsters to the checkpoint where they know people will be spawning because there is a hard part right in front of it? It would be like a monster pk tactic.
#81 MajorMoose Will Diablo III have bosses/unique monster encounters that are multi-layered? By this I mean having the bosses/uniques use different attack abilities and tactics as you get their health lower.

Hmm.. Well .__. listed my question (post #78 on the closed topic) on page 2 of this topic. That's the only place its listed though. I think this is an extremely important gameplay question that seriously needs to be looked into... below is my question:
…death mechanic. How are they going to prevent check point spawn mf runs? Say... there is a super chest and a check point right before it. You open the superchest, go kill yourself and open the chest again. Guilds? I know there was major talk of them back in d2 devel time (Or was it the addon?) about guilds and guild rooms etc that you and your mates could all go to with like banks and etc, but I think the problem was that it wasn't so good due to battle.net restrictions. Can you clarify this at all? And will we be seeing this kinda thing in D3? - Decay #12
Pvp: I know that wasn't something people liked much in D2, and caused a lot of grief, but with wide areas and better battle.net capabilities, does that mean that there will be options of (excuse the wow term) raid-like things? Or battle arenas or something? - Decay #12
Character stuff: Is there going to be any "fluff" for the characters? I mean like will we be able to dance/wave/etc like in wow? 'Cos having a bad-ass barby kick the proverbial out of a boss demon and do a dance (or a stomp, or victorious yell, etc etc) on his corpse would be RAD. I guess I could settle for more num-pad pre-built voice clips though. Although I know a lot of people get irritated when I do this all through a game lol - Decay #12

Diablo PVPing has always been an aspect of what truly made diablo what it is; uniquely bold and not watered down as most games of today are. How will you expand upon diablo2's pvp system without losing alot of the charm found in d2 pvp?

Will there be Magic Find in Diablo III, if so, how will it be different/similar? If not, how will the dropping of super rare items be dictated?

I loved to collect set items in Diablo 2, but sometimes I never found a whole set, or the set was not as effective as having unique or runeword items, will having full sets be more rewarding in Diablo3? Will sets and the other kinds of items be more ballanced in power?

How similar will the skill tree be to Diablo 2? For example, will all characters be using Mana to cast our spells? Will we be having the same progression-type skill tree as in Diablo 2? And will synergies make a return?

Are there any revolutionary ideas or content planned for Diablo III that may influence all other Blizzard games, or for that matter, the entire gaming industry? What I'm primarily asking is, will there be anything brand new to the Action-RPG genre that you'll introduce in Diablo III?
incentive to go around and fight monsters in different areas or is it just going to come down to grinding a couple of bosses with no specific loot tables
at all. In other words, are they going to reward the player for exploring all areas in the game, and are there going to be more specific loot tables so
that casters, for example, know generally where to look for items. Is there going to be a variety in what to kill and what loot to get?

Decay, #12: I heard that you guys were going to drop the rune idea, but are you going to get rid of all character-created-item generation? Will we still be able to make things, only they're a lot harder to make or conversly a lot less powerful? Or will the only makable things be consumable or quest items?
Masternic, #49: Will we have an advanced stats window showing stats like:
- Magic find
- Increased attack speed
- Increased spell casting speed
- Fast Run rate
- Fast Block rate
- Recovery from hit speed
...

(Should really reword some of the long questions here...)
That one really deserves to be on the list.
I pretty sure that's my question.
It's okay I put your name underneath the question, Sol got it all mixed up though
