With 2.1.2 around the corner, we'll be farming rift after rift after rift. However, to get access to those rifts we need rift keys! While most people might farm T6 bounties, some of us ("there are dozens of us!") prefer to get rift key fragments as fast as possible. For those, I made this thread!
Inspired by the T6 rift clearing competition, I hereby attempt to create the same for normal bounties. If there's already such a competition and I missed it please let me know. As for the T6 competition, we need a clear set of rules... I discussed this with Jamoose and we thought about clearing 5 full sets of act 4 bounties and something like that; however, it's very subjective to RNG, so rather pick something more reliable. Therefore, let's use only one bounty that is almost always the same: the Underbridge in act 3. It should take about a minute and is therefore very easy to verify! Rules are as follows:
Complete a full Underbridge bounty in act 3, from starting waypoint to finish ("bounty finished" message).
Record the run on video to have proof. Upload video on Youtube, Dailymotion, or simply on Dropbox and post link so that your run can be verified.
No external buffs such as other class buffs or shrines. Buff yourself *after* teleporting to the area (though it'll only take a second or less, but still).
After finishing the bounty, go over gear, stats, paragon, and build at the end of the video.
While this is a competition, it's also about fun. There will be faster and slower runs - but I want to see as many different specs as possible. The great thing about Normal bounties is that EHP and DPS is relatively meaningless, so you can finally use some of that "useless gear" and theorycraft a bit different than usual!
I'll start with my two favorite builds, a DH (which is insanely fast as you can imagine) and a monk (which is not as fast but a lot of fun). I'll keep the list up to date. Btw, if anyone knows a free video editing tool with which I can edit in the timer in the video... let me know. You can either post a link to the build on the build tool or a link to your character (or both). I prefer the build tool as I switch gear on my characters all the time, so those links are never persistent.
Danetta+Vault DH
Explanation: The idea is basically to perma-Vault thanks to Vengeance and Preparation. High CDR and the Natalya set allow for Vengeance (and Punishment) to be available quite often, high RCR is required as you can imagine. I use Chakram's Shuriken Cloud for a little bit more extra damage and Vault-Action Shot to kill stuff; Rain of Vengeance with Dark Cloud is probably overkill on Normal, so it doesn't matter if you forget to click it. Bat companion adds a little bit of extra hatred regeneration. This build is inspired a lot by Desolacer's and k1ckd0wn's build, so all the credit to them.
A pretty straightforward TR build. I use Warstaff of General Quang for the Tailwind rune such that I can run with Electric Field for more AoE damage. Zephyr and Annihilation provide little speed buffs, just like the two gems and Rechel's Ring which is procced occasionally by Pandaemonium Loop's fear (unfortunately almost never in my run below). I used Sunwoku set but actually think it might be useless, I might try again with different items for a better time. It's far from perfect or optimized... but a lot of fun!
...50% RCR (easy to achieve or less with Astral Presence) Aether Walker with Wormhole/Calamity, always max resources. Frozen Storm/Warzechian + Pain Enhancer/Wreath of Lightning. I don't have an Aether Walker. I can only imagine. Literally only have to hold down one button and go in a straight line with the ability to bypass all obstacles and terrain pathing.
This build is based on Phalanx Bowmen and obviously Steed charge. Using the law that grants a movement speed bonus along with Warzechian bracers and Wreath of lightning + Boon of the hoarder gems, you can get to a very high movement speed bonus which feels ridiculous at times really. Anyway the run in the video is not that successful with a 56 seconds completion time. I did a couple of runs and they were all pretty much in the range of 55-65 seconds.
Haha Jaetch, I knew I would trigger your wizard defense mechanism ;-)
Yeah, it might be just as fast as the DH (it's basically the same, you can hold down both spells). Might be a bit faster because you can Teleport over obstacles and Teleport range seems to be slightly higher than Vault range. However, the DH has the advantage of insane speed boosts when you're not vaulting - way more than the DH.
I don't have the wand either because I'm play non-season. Even without the wand, you can build an insanely fast TP wizard with a Wand of Woh (used my level 60 one), Oculus, high CDR and high RCR. The problem however was: killing stuff. Even with Obliterate the kill radius wasn't sufficient to kill everything as fast as with the DH's Action Shot rune on vault, for example.
However, I would welcome any other additions - I think every class can have a fun spec that is insanely fast. Go for it, submit your build!
Edit: Also everyone keep in mind this is more about fun than about winning the competition. Would be nice to have a build for every class... I haven't even tried barb/WD at this point, but I'm sure there are ways to do this with them really fast as well!
Your movement also is a lot better... I can see that you play the DH more often than me. If you'd give it a try on normal you'd easily beat my time by a lot. Although... 90% of this is just quickly getting to the Underbridge, not a lot of stuff to kill in those barracks.
I might test it tomorrow. General idea for WD would be Tiklandian Visage, enough CDR for perma-Horrify (Face of Death for larger kill-/fear-proc-radius) and Rechel's Ring of Larceny, Toxin gem, Fire Dogs and Gargantuan Big Stinker for AoE crits + Pain Enhancer, Shukrani's Triumph for empty spots between mobs. SMK + Fetish Army for the final boss (if there's one), Illusory Boots to not get blocked by enemies or Fire Walkers to break doors and obstacles without stopping and procing Warzechians. Fierce Loyalty passive for 30% extra speed out of combat.
That being said, WD lacks movement, so it's probably slower than most builds.
Another thing i thought about was the Manajuma's set, giving you that poison cloud. Makes it easier to proc Warzechian while moving since with Firewalkers you have to step on the breakables and not just run by them. I really don't know how useful the Shukrani would be especially since you will be able to stack very high cdr anyway due to the fact that this is normal and you dont need lots of dps. I think that with Spirit walk Jaunt + Tikilandian with Horrify stalker + Manajuma / Firewalkers with Warzechian + legendary gems, your momvement speed should be decent enough. The main problem is that you don't have a skill that hits everything in a big range while moving but i think that acid cloud with acid rain can be fast enough. Maybe even throw in some fetishes with the poison darts rune just for some extra kills i guess.
Edit: abilities worth testing out imo are Grasp of the dead - Rain of corpses + Mass confusion -Mass halucination.
Edit2: Actually why the hell would you use Tikilandian? Should probably just go for Leoric's crown with a diamond.
Yes! Thanks for showing a solid Aether walker build. That cosmic strand is awesome. That's exactly what i want to run when S1 ends, gotta get an ancient Aether walker though
Yeah my pleasure. I use the exact same gear and skills for my failed attempts at the Sprinter conquest (missed it by one minute last night in a duo with a DH).
Hell yes on the anc AW. That's is my #1 most desired item right now. #2 would be an anc FB source to go with it.
This is awesome! Thanks ChangBooster - and welcome to DFans!
Yes, this is still going on; soon people will need more and more rift keys, especially those individuals that close after the RG. And nothing is faster than bounty farming on normal to get those keys!
Do you feel like creating a simple guide in our build tool? I think that would be super helpful - basic skills and gear, but also potential alternatives for those "along the way", I'm sure there are multiple routes to go. But at least a basic entry in the build tool would let you get the credit you deserve ;-)
Added you to the list. Still three classes missing ;-)
Yes, I'll make a build when I get a moment. I also have a capable T6 rift/bounty AW build that is a fire/lightning hybrid and incredibly fun to play. I'll post that too.
Oh yes, please show me. Anything that is a deviation from the boring "kill stuff with Blizzard off-screen and run away like a chicken coward" pure fire builds would be awesome. I used to be a 100% wizard nothing else player, but Firebird's set basically killed the class for me.

Is this thing still going on? My clan leader, Jaetch, brought this to my attention a few weeks ago. I finally got around to giving it a go.
