Awesome! Glad to hear that this whole "guns" thing is dead. Did anyone in here play Dungeon Siege? That was such a fun game... until you found out that the goblins and invented some form of machine gun.
Am I the only one who thinks the next class will be a warlock or rogue? And if not, at least a character class from WoW. I think that's why Jay Wilson said fans will hate Blizzard for the next character that they announce.
Guys, don't you get it?
Jay wans't trying to give you a tip about what class it will be by saying that people would hate it when it was announced. What he was trying to say is that ANY class that will be revealed will be hated by some people the same way some people hated the Witch Doctor instead of the Necromancer, because it is not the class they loved in D2.

You need only just ask
Why do we want such BIG NAMED CLASSES Like Ninja Samuri wtf is that? Why would we want to play as Ninja in Diablo3. Where or how do Ninjas or Samuries fit into this game? I highly doubt Blizzard would put a Ninja class in this game.

Dunno if there's room for a samurai. The barbarian takes both places of dual-wielding and two-handed melee (that would fit Samurai). It would probably be a better idea if the Barbarian wasn't already chosen.
I think that Diablo has yet room for a stealth rogue (the Diablo 1 rogue didn't do a lot more than an archer) that would fit in the ranged-attack role. The arcane mage, because in D2 the arcane spells known as 'magic damage' weren't in sorceress skills. Probably a wizard with elemental and arcane skills.
I could speculate more, like a leader summoner with auras and a melee class with some magic, like a cleric or something. Diablo has never seen something that remind healers. But those aren't that much probable.
I'd like to say I told all of you so on multiple occasions and that I'm incredibly happy that they are not in the game
With all due respect magistrate, I don't think anyone wanted machine guns and assault rifles, and it is plainly obvious that is what Bio is referring to.
I still await official confirmation on historically accurate firearms though.
I'm not sure why would guns have an use in that world. I rather throw fireballs and lightning from my palm then use those guns.
That is an oppinion though, and the fact is that many of the crossbows in Diablo 2 would not of been in that time period. Niether would many of the swords and mauls and axes, yet you use this argument against the firearms. With all due respect, to me, it seems rather hypocritical.
Either way friend, you have no way of knowing whether you would of perfered using the firearm rather then magic, as the game has yet to be released.
Actually most of the items were from numerous time periods stretching back into B.C.
It kind of goes without saying that old weapons disappear as time goes on and new weapons take the stage, so why would 2000 year old weapons still be produced when only holy men and people of power are educated, 40 generations building gladius's? no, societies build popular weapons, no smithy is going to have historical knowledge, nor is anybody going to keep a certain design around for the sole purpose of tradition when it's bad for business.
It's because it's a stylized game, they all have been and they're putting what ever looks good, in the game. projectiles like guns or rockets can look good and even fit in with the context of lore. I mean really, face it the time theme of this game (late 13th century) is a period in which the birth of fire-arms was on the verge in europe. The small time discrepancies pale in the face of the fact that weapons from all over time are showing up in the games. The joking manner by which that was answered leaves much to be said, he offered no specifics or explanations, it's possible that he doesn't know or they haven't planned it, and even if it doesn't show up in the game, it could potentially be in an expansion in some form or realistically in another diablo universe game after the story arc is finished.
I am not in favor of guns unless they are properly executed, unlike that Horadric Cube which only served as storage most of the time and didn't fill it's purpose often, talk about a terrible idea. The Cube and the Gun are one in the same, if they put guns in and it ends up like that it will have been a bad choice. A lot of this gun rage and objection is coming from a largely ethnocentric group and so far only a few people actually know what it's suggesting and are objective and I understand I am too, but I still believe it's worth thinking about. It's just sad that people assume modern battle rifles, it's like most gamers have an inability to learn history. I'm sure they've been told what a Musket is and what primative guns were like fifty fucking times.

I applaud your post my friend.
I feel I should also point out that in this game, heavy battle axes can go toe to toe with...clubs...

No it wouldn't. Ninja Gaiden takes place in Japan? Diablo takes place across the whole world of Sanctuary.
Anyway please take further samurai discussion to the Samurai discussion thread here.

But it does show how far Blizzard will go for it's fans...
I do wonder about historically accurate weaponry though...
