before the patch you would get hit for a max of around 450k, now you get hit for about 300k. these are numbers only about 1% of players can deal with. the damage difference between hell and inferno are insane. even the difference between inferno acts are insane. this is just rediculous. so when you add to this all the buffs monsters got and all the nerfs players got. we're pretty much screwed.
What about the fact that you can get ilvl 62 gear in act 4 hell now and ilvl 63 gear in act 1 inferno? Doesn't that help the player who was struggling pre-patch?

Pre-Nerf, Sand Wasp, beginning of Act 2 Inferno - One wasp projectile hits my Wizard for 5600-6000 Damage
Post-Nerf, Same mob, now only hits for like 2500-3200 Damage.
(Note: Melee Wizard, with almost 7k armor, 875+ resist, 47k health)
My gear hadn't changed in that one night.
If you are not playing a glass-cannon build, and want to take some hits, you need to gear for it. Yes, Inferno is HARD. You are not supposed to walk into it without any gear farming/AH purchases to help equalize the gap.
If most of your gear is blue, and sub ilevel 53, you will get stomped on. HARD.
Act 3/4/Ponies of Hell got buffed droprates, dropping up to ilevel 61 gear now, and more ilevel 60 gear. This means gearing up, even under your own power, shouldn't be TOO bad.

Act 4 and ponies in hell are supposed to drop up to ilvl 62 now, albeit with only a 1.9% chance.

I have to respectfully disagree with the OP's post. I was streaming last night and doing comfortably well in Act 2 inferno on my barb when before I could barely stand to take a hit from the first normal mobs that came at me. I still die super fast to certain elite packs and I do have to re-gear to replace my weapon that got blunted by IAS, but I can mostly survive and I'm not limited to just act 1. Feels good to me.
congrats to those that exploited broken mechanics before they were fixed to get through inferno and now crap on us that are struggling. i was one of the lucky ones who not only played the worst class in the game (monk which is a total joke), but i also lost my hellish staff of herding due to a bug that blizzard won't even comment on (it's well documented by many other players). thats over a million gold i could've spent on gear.

Barb was worst at launch, WD is probably worst currently. If you think monk was ever the worst class at any point since launch, I think you'll have a hard time getting much agreement.
On the topic of your lost staff of herding, I'm sorry to hear that, but I don't see how that's in any way relevant to the topic.
As far as the whole, "everybody who disagrees with me is obviously an exploiter thing,"

If you think it's the worst, go play something else. I play my Monk, love it completely. I'm doing just fine with my Act 2 Inferno clear, and I'm pretty sure all those Monks that have killed Diablo would agree that Monks are pretty good.
You're just complaining for the sake of complaining. Man up, try harder. Inferno is totally doable, it's just going to be a great challenge on the way there. Which is just as it's supposed to be.
I think you need to stop complaining and play the game and get better gear.
While I would agree that the repair costs hinder people who haven't progressed yet more than people that have... the new patch hasn't made the game itself harder on people that are further behind. In fact, 1.0.3 has done quite the opposite because the gear requirement isn't as high now with the damage nerfs.
I'd be willing to bet large sums of money that most of the monks complaining Act 2 is still too hard (apart from the ones who are just butthurt because they spent millions on IAS even though they knew the nerf was incoming) are trying to go too tanky and don't have enough dps. The first time I tried act 2 post 1.0.3, I was all resists and HP, around 11k dps. It felt a little better but I was still dying enough that trying to progress was now costing me money. Then I dropped about 13k health (from ~37k to ~24k now) and traded it for about 3k more dps (not counting buffs/procs) and ~3-400 more life on hit. My resists with gear alone went up a little but I stopped using the resist rune on Mantra of Healing and went with Evasion/Hard Target instead which dropped my resists by about 150 overall (~800 to ~650). I switched Deadly Reach/Keen Eye for Fists of Thunder as well which put my armor around 7k down from the 10k I had with Keen Eye. Before 1.0.3 and the gear change I couldn't even GET TO Belial by corpse flopping, let alone kill him but now I'm killing him pretty comfortably. Moral of the story is you can mitigate a lot of damage by simply being able to kill stuff before it can hurt you.

I actually think the monk can be pretty OP if spec'd right, The Monk is my main and although I admit I have yet to kill Diablo, I did make it to Act 4 Inferno before the patch, so I'm pretty proud of myself for that.
The one thing that TRUELY makes the game harder is the fact that no one wants to lose their 5 stacks of NV, so they don't switch specs.

Let's be honest, some of the Ilvl 63 gear is just utter garbage :\

Think that could be said about every ilvl But the potential for something great to come out of it is better than it was before. I've been throwing out a lot of stuff, but I was throwing out a lot before. I think the best change, even better than the ilvl change, is the elite packs to drop more loot with full NV. I find so many more items now. They may all still be mostly crap, but it at least I get more items in a smaller time frame. It also makes me happy as someone who likes to just roam the world instead of just rush to the boss.
Mods, if you're going to delete my posts because I'm sick of the (*@#$*(@#* trolling by kids on these forums like the OP, at least enforce your forum rules for everything. Give me infraction points if needed if I'm standing up for the non-morons, but be sure to handle the trolls too. Then again, there'd be no threads left to comment on, so nevermind.

These are also imaginary numbers. Lol. Want to talk squishy? I'm a pure glass cannon DH and NOTHING has hit me for over 120k damage.

I suppose I can't speak for anyone else, but my "exploit" was farming Hell Act 4 for a week.
If content is constantly killing you, you need to farm for gear in the places that don't constantly kill you.
