I just logged on my DH and I can't use my weapons of course. So i look through the list and the only thing I can make is some POS lvl 4 2h xbow, and all the quivers are lvl 14+.
How stupid is that shit?
But ok, I made a 2h xbow. Guess whats on it? 6 to fking strength!
I make another one, guess what? 6 to fking intellect!
So I make a 3rd one, guess what? 5 to fking strength!
Finally on the 4th one I get one with some lightning dmg on it, but I would have settled with just about anything at that point.
I can only think of one thing to say,
OMFG Shit design Shit Design Shit Design!!!
umadbro?
Honestly, though, they should have just done a character wipe with this patch so people wouldn't complain like this. If you level a new character your gear will be perfectly adequate from what drops plus the BS to fill in any gaps. You may not be hitting the same dps as you were in Patch 13, but you can get more than enough to steamroll the beta content.
Simple solution: delete all beta toons and start fresh. If your gear prevents you from completing the beta then come back and complain. If not, then I guess its fine afterall.
I thought he was talking about the fact that you can make items that are absolutely useless. A barb can't use a 2h xbow, or he shouldn't want to, likewise it wouldn't make any sense for a caster to be able to use it.
So why are there items designed for a specific class rolling stats for other classes? Thats like having a wand with +Str!!

The blacksmith now offers crap...its as if they intentionally altered everything so you oculdn't use it on the beta. Not to balance the game mind you
That's right because blizzards every intention with anything they do beta wise is to annoy Jaclashflash. Furthermore how would you know what blizzards intentions were when they decided to change it?.

What are you talking about? That's one of the things that gives longevity to the game. 6 or 7 years from now I hope I'm still playing this game. Do you think I'll still be levelling Barbs that just user Axes and Swords? Yeah, I'll make a xbow barb just for the fun of it. I'm glad any affix can spawn in any item.
Huh? What abilities can you even use as a barb with xbow? This isn't d2 where you have 2 primary skill slots and thats it. And I got to be honest, if you have to sink that low to find the game interesting, you are far better off just moving on to something else.

Actually the main reason they did this is to adjust the levels of BS items for level 1-60 content, not level 1-13 as it was in the Beta. This just means they're happy with how the Blacksmith is doing right now and his testing period is over. He's ready for launch. Same as almost every other part of the Beta. As stated by Jay earlier, this is pretty much the launch content that we're having in the Beta right now... so it's time to adjust all the necessary ingredients for the 1-60 content that won't have a "sweet spot" at level 13.
I really don't see anything wrong with them adjusting items on the blacksmith at this point. They've had him tested out, and now comes the item balancing and what should and shouldn't be available at what levels. I mean, realistically, for people to be running around with such high-powered gear at such an early level...not balanced at all, and with how easy it was to get...yeah. I don't agree with a lot of things Blizzard has done so far with Diablo III, but this is one thing that should be expected. The blacksmith is supposed to help you out, but not be the best place to go to for the best gear at all times...a supplement to help fill in gaps, maybe get that nice recipe now and then, but not to be your personal armory for every single slot and what not. Most of the better gear should come from drops as that's what will help keep people around...for the item hunt, and not have it more based on the blacksmith.
You are a useless tool. Please go into the nearest laundry room. Grab the bleach... and chug it. Knock it back like it was a bottle of rum. Seriously guy... you are whining like a mule about something so minor. To cry this much... you must be trolololololing.
Well if the concern is the content being trivialized when you have a lvl cap 5 levels higher then the content that's a laugh.
Things so much lower then the cap are always going to drop garbage, play the starting 10% of the levels in d1 or d2 in normal you'll be wearing absolute junk. What the BS had was intended for a bit further in.
Worrying about tweaking difficulty in what is essentially very easy difficulty labeled as normal is asinine.
I don't have the priviledge of beta but we don't want to pander to wannabe hardcorers in easy, it is pretty much a given that these people have personality disorders.
In terms of difficulty this game could really benefit from optional bosses that were ridiculous on top of the elite/champions
When you initially started diablo 1 on normal and came up against the butcher with your garbage shortbow or short sword and he two-three shot you that stuff was crazy.
There are people who want this, but there are also people who want something to do when they hit 13 it seems and want to feel reward for time spent.
I approve of the changes, but I'm starting to wonder why they even bothered with crafting in the first place.
Some of the fun in Diablo 2 was the gambling feature and also gaming the merchants in stocking items you might consider buying on a first time character. It wasn't tons of fun, but there was a little bit of a timesink and some fun to be had, for sure.
Is crafting supposed to replace those features? Why do we have to have a WoW-like scenario where the developers STRUGGLE to find the perfect balance between crafted items or drops? Why can't crafting just be geared towards A. Twink characters B. First time characters or C. End game characters?
Why does is have to be D. "Uh, We're not sure what crafted items should be for exactly"?

Some people tell me I'm going to hell. I just let them know that I've already packed my bags!
They lower the number of crafting materials you get.
What *#$%ing beta are you playing? In a fresh run on a HC character I filled my entire bag up with blues twice by the skeleton king. I had FAR more crafting mats than I would get from 1 run in patch 13. More than enough to make up for the increased amount you needed to craft.
For character that are stuck at a maximum of level 13 sure, Having absolutley everything from the BS be better than drops is NOT good gameplay. I'm fairly confident as you level you will be making gear that is great for your current level. Even with the increased cost to train the BS, you get a metric fuck ton of gold now. As well at end game, last time I checked some set items and legendaries are crafting recipes that drop. So no the BS isn't completely useless.
Every single post I've seen you make has been absolutely trollish and negative, you refuse to even have a back and forth discussion with people and just continue to call everything terrible and bad. As I'm sure you will do with my post. If you truly dislike the game that much don't play, and don't come back to these forums. You act like a child.
Why do you have a bunch of pics of a slutty girl as a signature?

Seems sensible, if you are receiving more blue drops then before the mat cost adjustment makes sense.
It does seem preferable to have more available world drops and then offset the BS if they were happy with it but were not thrilled with the feeling of drop rates.
What should of been the case was from inception having content that matches the level cap available to avoid these "it's too easy" crowd who can't grasp it's set on very easy difficulty in the starter zone.
The concern of items being better at the blacksmith then what you find is quite problematic due to the constraints on what monsters you can fight, they simply aren't high enough level to drop better gear then the smith.
I approve of the changes, but I'm starting to wonder why they even bothered with crafting in the first place.

Sounds like a lot of assumption and failure to recognize what a Beta is for in this post.
Diablo 1 had no gambling, many other games have crafting and item drops attaining the preferred feel/balance to the game takes adjustment..but you make it about WoW.
People please be better at comparing things, it seems every game in the world is like WoW to some people.
Crafting is one of the most enjoyable aspects of games to many people.
You've just asked crafting to be more like WoW, I feel you are greatly confused.
Crafting in WoW is set up exactly as you have said.
Gambling was perhaps the weakest aspect of Diablo 2 along with currency management,
Sure you are essentially trading gold and items that may as well be gold for tokens to craft in D3 but the feel to this type of arrangement, it is very different and being able to find patterns is another element of finding leveling up and unlocking the BS gives some more completion aspects for the player.
have to agree with other people here. i dont see anything wrong with any of the changes. as much as i love the WD the dogs being invincible even on the SK was bogus and wayyy too ez mode for the WD. even if it is "normal". and this doesnt change anything for lvl 20+ because dmg was only doubled from 1-13 and trails off back on track at lvl 20.
the BS being able to craft gear 100x better then anything you find for every slot of armor was also bogus.
they made gold drop A LOT more and blues drop more it seems. so no worries on either of those.
no worries all around bud. gotta think some changes through when they seem crazy instead of just jumping to rage conclusions
EDIT: in the beta you can get the "rabid dogs" rune and jungle fortitude passive. when you get both of those the dogs arent that squishy and actually do some pretty nice dmg. and once you get zombie handler for more HP and an extra dog they will be great.

...is this for real? I won't even state the obvious reason Blizzard did this, because so many people already have...I (and everyone else) was running around with mostly BS items. Now THAT'S BS.

Seriously, i don't want to play minecraft were i craft all my gear. This is diablo, it's about drops.
About the beta being hard, my gl never played any click and point games in her life and she finished beta on hardcore just fine. If anything, the difficult is fine tunned. 15 seconds to be killed by a monster is ridicolous even in my little pony games ¬¬

So true. And thats how the game should work. If you want nice dogs, you should invest in dogs taking passives that improve it. EVEN IN NORMAL.
The blacksmith now offers crap...its as if they intentionally altered everything so you oculdn't use it on the beta. Not to balance the game mind you, just to screw around with beta. Probably so some dimwitted people could experience the game to be a little more challenging.
Of course they could have just not used the Blacksmith if they wanted that same feeling.....but if there is one thing I have learned on this site is that these wannabe hardcore players just want to force everyone else to follow their obscure self rules, not to actually just follow them for themselves. They don't have the moral fortitude to not cheat their own self rules!
Point of the BS was to get people ok gear and have some kind of gambling system, a yellow level 3 belt which was better then everything else that dropped probably wasn't their intention, its called a beta for a reason.
