Hans' so far seems the most likely. I think everyone else is reading too much into the "diablo will be in Diablo 3" statement. Im quite sure that we will fight diablo throughout the game and expansions but we will not actually get to beat him until perhaps the last expansion. The possible Final boss for Act 4 could be: Izual, Azmodan (considering he is laying seige and the siegebreaker is ACT 3), or some other boss we haven't heard of yet.
I could also definitley see the final battle as we encounter Diablo + a corrupted Izual/Tyrael/Cain/horadrim. We have to fight both of them but Diablo runs away in the end escaping death.

Blizzard used to care about releasing Diablo III, then they all took an arrow in the knee...
They also mentioned a ridiculously evil immortal Horadrim named Zoltun Kulle. He could very well be a boss in the game, and their reluctance to talk about his character makes me think he plays a semi-big part.
I don't remember exactly but it seemed to me that during one of the D3 panels or in the interview with J by Sixen and Force... someone mentioned that during the expansion they won't be introducing new acts? Did anyone hear that as well? I can't find it anywhere right now. Hopefully I've heard wrong. I'm pretty sure I did. But just to be sure. :]

Umm, no. It's been confirmed by Blizzard that Diablo will be the final boss of the game.

Umm, no it hasn't. They said Diablo is IN Diablo 3. Or show me your reference.

I think it'd be cool and controversial if you only got to fight Real Form Diablo on Hell or Inferno.
Like a True or Secret Final Boss?
Something like that. Where he's bigger and badder than ever before, with a completely new strategy to fight him...perhaps something like his true form only being half seen, emerged from the center of the final battlefield. So big that you can hardly get him on screen and that he attacks from that one area instead of getting out and walking around.
I did say we would face Diablo in act 1 and in Act 3. The first one is the original Diablo from D1 and the second one is the one that was not killed in D2 but is weakened due to the missing soulstone. The final one is the last one in the expansion.

On Strike and supporting Fallout 4 Mod Makers
Some fallout 4 mod makers have had their mods stolen and uploaded and downloaded on Bethesda's site for the Xbox One.
I'd like Diablo to be the final-final boss, but I hate end bosses that you only fight or see once. Perhaps we get to fight him twice: at the main game's end and the last expansion? Perhaps we'll get to descend into the Old Tristram's cathedral once again...

datamined info can be false and actually if you read that thread there, apparently a blue made an error and its not kill but 'to' (someone find the actual quote plz) Diablo. So again The final boss could be diablo + some other boss which you do get to kill

No it was "to" on Xplay. Me and ScyberDragon both watched it separately and came back with the same wording. Not sure why it was changed later. It was definitely "play through to Diablo"

Well, playing through to him would indicate that right at the end you find him, which should mean that he is the final thing you encounter in the game. So it's more than likely that he is the final boss.
Or is it...
The Soulstone cinematic really seems like a setup for Act 3. Belial starts his army pouring out of the Arreat Crater to collect the Black Soulstone. We spend act 3 around Arreat beating him back and eventually kill him. This somehow plays into Diabaalmeph's plans which then set up Act 4.

i dont know if this is a serious post or not.... but there is no multiple diablos. in D1, diablo possessed king leorics son. after the warrior defeats him he removes the soulstone (with diablo's soul inside it) and implants it in his head. king leorics son then reverts back to his human form, dead.
the warrior from D1 becomes the diablo in D2, which we kill and shatter the soulstone. though it wasnt shown, the warriors body probably reverted to his old form as well.
in conclusions, the 2 times we 'killed' diablo, we only killed his host body, and after said defeat, the body was returned to human form

The information that was datamined can be phony information, since Blizzard knows that the information would be datamined.
Saying Diablo is the final boss is highly likely but I feel Blizzard is going to surprise us on this and have the main Diablo in the last expansion.

On Inferno mode Diablo has legs.
I lol'd.
I don't see them doing a "REAL" diablo fight though.

SO he may be the final one (if datamined material is accurate), but still see my reply on that thread
