Bioware has just released a cinematic trailer for SWTOR, and I have to say that it looks incredible! Simply epic. I honestly am at a loss for words, see for yourself.
I played through KOTOR, countless times (KOTOR II not so much), as I'm sure many of you did, and BioWare also headed the first KOTOR (KOTOR II was Obsidian). The game is still in its infancy, but they haven't let us down yet. If the gameplay is even half as cool as this cinematic, (what we've seen so far looks equally incredible) then SWTOR will crush all MMO opposition. Watch out WoW.
Looks awesome. I really hope they give us some options though. What type of lightsaber you use, what color, dual wield them or two hand maybe, fighting style, use of force powers, things like that. If every Sith has a red saber, and every Jedi a blue one, I'll get bored fast.
Give, expecting nothing thereof. ------------ BoD - Come have some fun! Folks will always come and go, so enjoy them while they're meant to be in your life.

Looks amazing so far though.
Well from what they've said so far, we will be able to customize more than any MMO currently out. I would expect there to be somewhere around 10 lightsaber hilt styles and the standard blue, green, yellow, and red lightsaber crystals to be available in the beginning game. Then in the game I'm sure we'll be able to find/build more hilts and find several more colors of crystals, silver, pink, orange, teal, viridian, and purple, possibly more. Fighting styles I'm sure will be highly customizeable as well as powers and such.
Also remember that they said this is going to be the first MMO where you actually can decide what your character's path will be with multiple storylines and multiple choices to each conversation. And logic says that we won't be able to pick light side or dark side in the beginning, we will just begin our jedi training and make choices leading us to which side our tendencies lie.
Surprisingly, I've been looking forward to this game more than StarCraft II. (Don't worry, DIII is at the top of my list:thumbsup:)
Btw, that's just a cinematic trailer. Don't see anything to be amazed about yet.
It will most likely be a real time turn based system. They have a video out that shows an early fight sequences of a jedi fighting, and between jedi and some creatures. Very similar to KOTOR I & II, but much more fluid. They have said that it is now even more fluid, and not so jerky.
They also talk a little about their stylized look for the game in this video. The funny thing is that is sounds like they want to go the way of Blizzard, by focusing more on gameplay, story and a broad fan base unlike most other companies.

You are correct..
They are doing an outstanding job with this product. Only problem they are facing, the engine is causing problems. This will be a delayed project..
Additionally this will not be a standard MMORPG as most believe.
Think of it as more of an online story game. They are currently building/refining more aspects of community interaction for the online play. But it will never be a fully true MMORPG such as WoW..

"Pking in Softcore, is like two deaf kids yelling at each other."
I'm not too fond of that kind of game, but I must admit that this one really kicks ass! I'm starting to like ... "the force" :D! If ever I get this i'll start with an assassin for sure!

There will be a lot of people that enjoy this game. The story line and game play, are both way more intense than Kotor I and II. The only issues that are still being ironed out is the engine has some huge issues with dual proc's and mass crashes with certain Radeon cards.
All elements are fixable.. Launch is guesstimated at a year or so away..

c'mon ppl in the beginning of this thread. you'd say every other game were amazing by just judging the cg-trailers they pop out. geez
i find the ingame graphics lame, but we'll see when the endproduct comes out. i might be wrong
Don't sit there and trash those people for having faith in Bioware. If there's one company out there that deserves the benefit of the doubt, it's Bioware. They've never made anything other than excellent games.
Also, if anyone is interested in joining a RP-PvP guild for this game, head over to the one I'm in. We're undergoing a massive structural change, so it'd be a good time to join.
Another new video has been released, and it looks incredible!!
This is the first true gameplay video. They show off how the game is fully voiced, and several minutes of combat from several different classes. A very nice reveal is in there too.

While your at it, check out some some of the other trailers that show how The Old Republic world is developing.

This will be another winner. They have already shut out the EA propaganda machine from the decision table.
