Hahahaha what the hell are you talking about?Quote fromMac -- Yeah, I said it.
It works... exceedingly well. It was quite expensive (actually cheaper than my last PC laptop), but I don't have to fight with it to get it to work. And, it runs Windows (as well as Windows can be run) if I absolutely need to play a game which was made by a programmers who lack the skill to make a program which works in Mac OS X.
With a Mac I do lose something that I used to have as a PC (Windows) user. That was the sense of accomplishment I would so rarely get when I actually managed to trick my computer into running a program correctly. My PC (It was a laptop, as is my Mac) couldn't run most games that it should have been able to because neither the company who made the video card, nor the company which produced the laptop would make drivers for it, so I was stuck with the ones that it came with for the entire time I had it. I suppose with all the money I was (or wasn't, actually) saving, I should have enrolled in a video driver programming course...

Aug 30, 2009I just installed it on an old SiS chipset with basic dx7 integrated graphics.Posted in: Diablo II
So I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.
I'm 100% sure it's the operating system, more specifically the graphics drivers for that os.
EDIT:Quick web search reveals that since Leopard build 10.5.2, the 256 color support in the drivers for Intel IGPs and nVidia GPUs has been removed. "Classic environment" gone. Maybe updating drivers to latest beta will fix the problem.
This as well: Diablo 2 does not support OpenGL under Mac OS. You have to select 'Software' under Video in Diablo II Options before you can launch it for the first time (otherwise it will crash as you described). After that, click on Battle.net and download the update. You can then change your graphics settings to whatever you want using Diablo II Options.
There is an installer on the Diablo2 webite that claims to be for "Diablo (OS X), but requires another pc capable of d2 installation for you to play d2 on your macbook so NO GO.

Aug 30, 2009With the destruction of the worldstone, a rift has opened in the fabric of Sanctuary's time-space continuum, forcing would-be heroes to set off on quests already completed and visiting areas previosly seen.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Starring Leslie Nielsen as the enigmatic Cain and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising a role as the Barbarian.
Coming soon in theaters near you.

And the "we've sworn to secrecy part" is just a joke I think.
Though if you can search for the images online, I'd love to do some detective work, I guess I got a good 10 mins before I collapse in bed lol.

What meaning lol ? They were just random "runes" placed to torture us before the announcement :mad:Quote from "Dauroth" »Actually, the ice/crystal thing is Diablo related, not WoW! Jay Wilson said that they will reveal the meaning of the signs/seals later!
Aug 30, 2009I tried starting D2 and LoD again ever since I joined this forum. Attempted 4 times...with friends, solo, specific char bulds (didn't try mods though) etc. and I could never play more than a few hours before uninstalling.Posted in: Warcraft & WoW
Aug 30, 2009Hmmm, I just had an idea.Posted in: Other Games
Ghetto MtG !!!
There's gotta be some some place on the web from where you can download the card' s images...then just print them on normal paper (it's more ghetto in b&w :P). Afterwards you glue them onto ordinary playing cards. And boom - you got a full deck of cards to play with some nerdy buddies. Ain't getting more budget than that.

Hahahah excellent.we have this cool system where we can hit a dude so hard that his skeleton flies out
I am a bit worried about this toning die blut down a bit, but I understood it more as a technical problem from the interview (even considering the option of parental control), not something that will affect the finished standard-version product in a negative way.
Aug 26, 2009Posted in: NewsQuote from "Paladin88" »rly? A class based off an npc? Like what?
Use your head... You are saying the 5th class will not be a returning class called "assassin", but rather a new class based on the assassin npc Natalya called an "assassin". I finally see what you mean...Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Come back of the assassin char in the form of the NPC Natalya. Any of the Merc Leaders from any town. Need I say more?
Quote from "mattheo_majik" »So for ranged it could be the following.:
-Rogue (Different Faction, not the sisters.)Quote from "Paladin88" »First time I hear that rogues have to be in a faction.
I read, re-read your little sentences and I am quite sure you have no idea of what you are still talking about and am absolutely certain of the fact you don't have the faintest clue of what I was.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Did I say they did, not really I just proposed they could be...Did you actually read my post or just scanned through it before before trolling?
Quote from "Paladin88" »Blizz can twist the lore to whatever angle suits them. So nothing is set in stone.
You are trolling now. Just stating the obvious again.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Basically you got it...It's their game, their world, they can basically do what ever the hell they want. So your just stating the obvious.
Quote from "Paladin88" »I see. This Iron Wolf class seems excellent. Btw, what the hell is it?
*sighQuote from "mattheo_majik" »Use your imagination, that would actually make your posts relevant.
Hello, is this thing on?
Quote from "mattheo_majik" »-Act 5 (Ranged Barbarian warriors, as was mentioned by Sabvre and his Mongols)Quote from "Paladin88" »Where exactly did we "meet" these nomadic warriors during the previous games?
You sir are a genius.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Umm, let me think, Act5 all over the Bloody Foothills, etc. Those were all barbs and could of all been throwers or ranged if Blizzard chose to. Mount Arreat, one of the ancients was a ranged barb (double throw hatchets) For a guy that hates noobs who spew out nonsense your kinda rusty on your Diablo Facts. Or maybe you just trying to act dumb...
After reading this hissy fit I am even more certain of the validity of my signature statement and I am sure that's what ticked you off since naturally, you recognized yourself as such a mindless drone fitting perfectly into this category. And now all that is left is an attempt to prove to yourself that your presence here will actually contribute with something other than releasing nonsensical "2 cents" upon innocent bystanders who have to read your bile. Contrary to popular troll opinion however, long posting and the evokation of "what kind of person are you" will not get you sympathy and to those such as yourself by rule of thumb I say: a better person - one that can argue his position with statements that do not conflict with eachother.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Is this a pertinent comment that deserved you having to quote me to say...wut? Seriously, your basically the kind of person your signature flames. Someone who comes on to spew nonsense. I don't mind you discussing ideas or refuting points or even disagreeing with me. But at least try to make logical comments, then you'll even sound smart. Double bonus.
What you fail at comprehending is that it is not a name issue at all.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Trolling....I think someone should report these.....? Nah, let's have fun and see what else you can say. Yeah like I said, I didn't feel like thinking up a name, so I said "with a better name". So your once again just trolling and stating the obvious.
And seing as how you like adding the phrase "your posts must have meaning" I ask you: Where is the substance in any of your comments? Another thing: Does the amount of "substance" you can gather up fit under a fingernail? Because there was somekind of black fungus in the edge of my pinky earlier this morning so I scrapped it up and flushed it down the toilet.
Note that the second question is rhetorical so you don't have to attempt to flame on it later on.
Quote from "Paladin88" »Only reason why they'd be brought back are the polearm weapons which combined with the ranged abilities could fit very well in the missing spot. It can even combine the assassin/rogue/bard philosophies. But having noone to say whether any spears, tridents etc. were dropped in the demos or if the barbarian class can utilize such weapons effectively with the parts of the skill-tree that we know, a discussion cannot exist.
Hitting random buttons on your keyboard without actually looking at what the other person is saying... again. I have quoted myself above for your reading pleasure.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Holy Sh*t, you actually made a half pertinent comment. Congrats.
This discussion CAN exist, thus called speculation. Which most of these forums are based on as you might not be aware. And it's not just because we saw the act 2 merc using polearms that every warrior from that region fights as such. It just means that in D2, the ranged merc position was already taken by act 1 mercs therefore they didn't need to implement it on act 2 mercs. Do I even have to say this, you really can't think of it by yourself?
If you feel that you are being flamed please do report.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Seriously though I don't really appreciate your attitude, if your here to flame people who you don't agree with, just don't post.
I'm sorry, we were having a discussion? A discussion is something where parties exchange worthy opinions. Saying that I flamed you because I don't like your opinion (even though I did no such thing) is not a discussion.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »But anyone If I do see you posting these kind of comments again I will report them for trolling. So please use some maturity in your posts, you'll find that people will have much more civilized discussions with you and might even take you seriously down the line.
And to make this thing clear- I absolutely HATE having to read long arguing posts in forums etc, so come to the point next time.... if you have one.
You're welcome.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »Thanks.

I see. This Iron Wolf class seems excellent. Btw, what the hell is it?Quote from "mattheo_majik" »-Iron Wolves (I think that's what the act 3 mercs were called)
Another fine class. Gotta think of a cool name though.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »-Act 4 (Angelic Gate warrior, the one who sold weapons with a cool char name)
Where exactly did we "meet" these nomadic warriors during the previous games?Quote from "mattheo_majik" »-Act 5 (Ranged Barbarian warriors, as was mentioned by Sabvre and his Mongols)
wut?Quote from "mattheo_majik" »
Or just a new character being a hybrid of previous 2 ranged classes.
Oh, I agree- the "act II merc" name sounds lame.Quote from "mattheo_majik" »-Act 2 Mercs, but a ranged regiment. (Hopefully with Auras or Passives and a cool new name)

NEWS: By searching through these forums i have also come to the conclusion that the 5th class will be a gYpSiE ftw !! (classname includes "ftw")

Learn to read. You obviously didin't understand anything I said.Quote from "EvilStarship" »
I also don't really see why they couldn't take an existing NPC and put a spin on him to make the character a lot more diverse. Imagination anyone?
Havez u tried dat new Oriflame red rose rouge? It's teh shit !!!Quote from "EvilStarship" »In my opinion we almost definately will see a ranged class. Amazon seems unlikely because of gender, as does the rouge.
Finally a cosmetics product for menz too.
Do not equalize the rogue as a class with the "sisterhood of the sigthless eye".
*Nuh-uhQuote from "EvilStarship" »I'm betting they're gonna take an interesting NPC from the previous games to the drawing board and see if they can't build something into an original character.
And whether lances, spears etc. fall in the same category as two handed axes?? or if it is applicable in the Barbarian skill tree (I don't believe it's same as polearm staves like the monk uses) is important as well as to what the next class will be. If not then this question should have it's own thread as well.
*A word used by cool people that are always right. So come to your senses and accept it.
Aug 24, 2009Posted in: NewsQuote from "Seth" »I was saying that the quoted post I was referencing was not considering that when it was asked if it will be based on "someone" from an older game, that someone could just as easily be an NPC or storyline character, it doesn't automatically mean it will be based on an old playable character. So, they wouldn't have lied when they said that they were not bringing back anymore characters from the old game since they would be bringing back a character based on the concept of an NPC- like a Horadrim Mage or a Vizjeri.
It can't be an NPC. If Charsi for instance decided to join the "fight" what class would she be? Blacksmith? Nah... Rogue? OK. Boom, it's a returning class.
A "concept" class based on what we've seen?
Let's see what's left:
- Sorceror=Mage=your Vizjerei
- Archer=Bowyer (different from Rogue)
- Master at Arms
From all these let's see which ones make sense to conceptually use either a bow/crossbow or that aren't too alike the existing playable characters:
Maybe we should add shapeshifting archer. That might work, right?
And all these default char designs are very similar. Fusion is very likely. Well either that or we are not going to use ranged weapons.
Which come to think of, might actually work. Seriously. Any info on dropped bows on the demo anyone?
Aug 24, 2009Posted in: NewsQuote from "Seth" »Notice that he did not say "character", though. It could be based on an NPC or something.
You did mention that it's being revealed next year, and that it's someone from the previous games?
...as in next class on next Blizzcon

No lol they mean "he was only disguised as Tyrael in the finale where he fooled the hero into believing the worldstone is corrupted far beyond repair so that he could destroy it, thus having free passage into Sanctuary and with the Prime Evils being dead as well he gains +2500 xp points"Quote from "Illuvatar" »I highly doubt that Tyrael would be Belial in disguise. This is because he would have been found out ages ago by Heaven. I am sure it's not that easy to blend in seemlessly with the Angris Council and even take a lot of the limelight.
Aug 24, 2009I say this first. The cultist are trying to release Azmodan and Belial from their imprisonment beneath Tristram.Posted in: News
I am sure it was not Belial who actually destroyed the Worldstone.
EIT: Actually remembered that "Hell" is now ruled by them now, so they would still have to be alive to do this
Aug 24, 2009Paladin88 posted a message on Fansite Press Conference for Diablo 3 and WoW (Saturday)Posted in: News
I've posted in those threads cuz I didn't really like the idea.Quote from "Seth" »Hope that helps, Paladin88
I was hoping it got scraped along with town portals since if THEY slow down gameplay and were not needed, then what the heck does searching for specific keys do? But no info I guess.
Aug 23, 2009Paladin88 posted a message on Fansite Press Conference for Diablo 3 and WoW (Saturday)They said there would be multiple entry and exit points to and from areas, dungeons etc. and seeing how maps will be mostly "randomly" generated they may finally be able to fulfill the "unprecedented replayability" part they claim even on this Diablo 1 cd box I'm holding right now: "Diablo creates a unique labyrinth every time you play".Posted in: News
Heh we'll see
As for portals being canceled for now.... well I'm not too sure why, but perhaps item drops and placement of waypoints are so perfectly balanced out now so you don't need extra space in the tetris bag so no need for returning to town to sell stuff either
Just wondering what type of dash we'll have available to evade dangers while fighting boss monsters for instance, but since there will no body to "pickup" after we die, maybe there's no reason for portals idk.
Another thing nobody asked about was what is going on now with keys and locked chests/doors etc. Really wanted to know about that.
@Question to people who played the demo: After you died and got spawned at the appropriate waypoint or whatever, let's say you had to continue through an area that you "cleaned" already.... were there ANY number of monsters there (even a few) again or were mutilated bodies the only inhabitants?
@Another question: How long did the fallen corpses of enemies continue to be visible on screen after you killed them? And were blood splatters PERMANENT?
