By the same connection, I mean everyone I've invited to my lan party. It's still my internet connection we'd all be using. It's a bottleneck at the ISP, not at battle.net.

As games get more sophisticated, their bandwidth requirements get higher, NEVER lower.

The idea of a lan is to be in the same room with the players you are playing against. All the people stating they get no lag on battle.net have never had 8 simultaneous connections from the same gateway.

Who cares if you, as one player connected get no lag. It's irrelevant. If I want to have friends over for a night of networking, we are all going to be using the exact same connection, which will create lag.

Lanning up is about being able to shit talk to someone's face, and that's exactly what they are taking away.

I'm getting pretty fed up with my posts getting deleted.

Mod or not, you can't tell me I'm wrong in a post, then turn around and delete a post where I tell you you're wrong. It's bullshit.

    I disagree. You're wrong.

That's unfortunate, because I'm never wrong and if you think I'm wrong, you clearly have no clue what you're talking about.

im fine with no lan..... if i have a lan party i hook everyone up to the internet, wooohooo.

You ever have eight people connect out to a server from the same connection? I'm thinking no.

It prevents piracy. What they don't understand is, taking things from the gamer doesn't work. It's never worked and it never will work.

I really only wanted it for the campaign, and normally I support Blizzard regardless of if I plan to go online or not, but now, I think I'm not going to buy this.

The lighting is terrible. The arc of lightning should be a dynamic light source.

Pardo announced that StarCraft 2 will have no support for local network matches at all.

How do you guys feel about this?

I for one think it's a terrible idea as some of the most fun I've ever had was getting three or four friends together for LAN parties.

I suppose nudity could be dropped back to the 13+ while making sexual acts/ behavior the qualifier for 18+.

It's a shame you don't go to Ohio State University, then you'd be able to meet me and confirm to everyone that I'm as bad ass in real life as I am on this forum.

I stopped caring about the legislation when I turned old enough to buy whatever I want.

This is how I look at it.

It should be broken down to these ratings:

    Everyone
10+ (games containing obscene language but little to no violence)
13+ (games containing excessive obscene language and/or blood and violence)
18+ (games with excessive blood and violence and/or nudity)

These of course are only guidelines and should not be controlled by law, but by the parents of the children. It is and always will be the parents' responsibility to monitor what their kids are doing.

Now, I do think that you should have to pass some test proving you aren't a douche bag before you are allowed to purchase a mic of any kind.

As a huge fan of Origin games, I've always wanted to play the first System Shock but still have yet to.

    It's excellent. It's a shame they didn't sell well.

System Shock 2 is the most memorable game I've ever played. No game since has put me in the place that game did. Bioshock was close, but not quite.

I never said it was a bad game, I just said it was overrated. My main problem is, the developers could release a steaming pile of shit and call it GoW3 and it would still do well.

And like I said about the combat, there is nothing special about it. Any monkey that can button mash can beat the GoW games.

I don't agree with the concept that a developer that has only made good games can only make good games. Same goes for Square Enix and Blizzard.
