Well with deluxe you only get a few extra stuff, like an armor in the game, and i think a map or something. But if you really like the game then get the deluxe, but if its whatev to you then get the regular one.

Having a grand time with this game, anyone who wants a genuine RPG experience with a vast story and many choices will love this. The fighting is also challenging if you bump up the difficulty.
I am really struggling on whether or not I should get this game. Can anyone give me some reviews or opinions on the game. The more detailed the better. thanks

If you want to buy this game because you want to play something like Baldur's Gate, then go ahead, but its not that BG style if you know what i mean... It reminds me of BG sometimes, but the isometric view in this game is stupid.... monsters can attack you when you cant see them on your screen, but if you are in 3rd person you can see them.. its also bothering when you are traveling, the 3rd person view is way better in this game and thats something i hate.
If you like RPG's in general, this is a good one...
If i want to compare Dragon Age with Borderlands (since BL is also some kind of RPG), i would say BL is better.
What about gameplay? Replayable? How long is the game? How is the customization? Are the different specializations different and fun? Are the NPC's good?

Game play as i said has some flaws, like the difference between the 3rd person and the isometric views.
About re-playability and customization, i only played for 3 hours max, i need more time so i can determine if this game is re playable etc...
I've been playing this game since it came out and I'm still playing. The story is excellent, as always with Bioware. The game is very long somewhere between 40-60 hours of gameplay, I beat it at 45 hours in. I'm already starting my new character, an elven mage.
It has plenty of re playability, there are 3 different classes and each one has 4 specializations. Such as a mage becoming a Shapeshifter or Arcane Warrior. Each race has a different origin that you can play. The origins are all different for each race and have a big impact on the story. For example, since I was a human noble I got a mabari war dog as a companion.
The characters in this game are very memorable and fun to interact with. Having different companions while doing quests can affect what is said or can even change the quest. Sometimes characters will add quirky remarks to what is said keeping the conversations entertaining. The choices can be very hard to make. There were several times where I actually had to stop and think before I made a choice as to the consequences because it was so tough.
As I'm sure you've heard, this game is hard. Even on normal it can be very challenging. But in no point of the game had I reached a part where it was so hard I couldn't succeed. The challenge only adds to the fun and feeling of achievement.
The story is great, the gameplay is awesome and the characters/conversations are entertaining and vivid. If I were you and you were me, I would buy this game. Its definitely worth it.
If anyone cares. DO NOT BUY DLC. JUST DON'T. Until they fix it. Will they? Geeze, you wonder if they even HEAR anyone that they got their money ripped right out of their pocket, for content that should be in the game without DLC in the first place!
Sad!
Hear me out, this is only the begining of Bioware's downfall. EA owns them. Mark my words, there won't be many more good Bioware games.

DAO is already a GREAT game.
The DCL bug are another story, and yeah, it's pathetic and noone should ever buy it right now. But I don't think ppl should loose hope in the best ocidental rpg dev team ever existent.
This was the best RPG I have played in the last 6+ years. I just finished my first run through as a Elven Mage. The choices you make can greatly alter your ending, my ending was pretty sad.
Anyway, I'm not much of an EA fan myself, but this hate is just, (dare I say it?) nerd rage.
Sure EA spawns more bad games than good, but some of the good ones are really, really awesome. Like Dragon Age: Origins, the Battlefield series etc.
You are right... but its hard to see the good jewels in the piles of shit know what im sayin.
First off, I hate anybody who judges something just because of a name or company behind the product. If you haven't actually played the game then keep your mouth shut. BOO HOO EA.
Anyway, so I decided to get the game. My only problem with the game is how varying the actual outcomesare from your decisions (sarcasm). I played through the humans beginning three times just to see what would change. I can't believe the different outcomes. Yes, they all lead to the same place but the story in the middle changed drastically. My best outcome was my mother taking me to the family armory for a new sword and shield. For my own reasons though, I have a hard time playing because I am constantly thinking "I wonder what would happen if I chose a different answer?" oh well, guess I'll just have to play the game about 30x so I know.

Are you serious?
Just because EA happens to "own" them doesn't mean they will stop producing good games.
Look at The Sims, the world most sold series, ever. I'm not saying I like The Sims, but even EA can produce play worthy game.
The Sims?
The Sims isn't trash by now? At least, the amount of money you had to waste Day 1 to have everything on the last one is proof enough of how much its trash.
EA sucks. Simple.
I'll pirate the good games they release and hope they one day die. Thats the only voice I have for all the shit they have done, the series they ruined, and their retarded methods to milk money from people and total lack of respects toward their customers.
Not to mention the most horrible technical support ever. Pirates got the DLC working faster than many legit users.
This game is awesome and all, but its EA. Can't wait for the next Bioware game where half of the game is unlocked for a total of 60 additional dollars.

They said its going to be like Baldur's Gate but its really not... So i give it:
Graphics 9/10
Audio 8/10
Game play 7/10
Overall score 8/10
Edit: Its been said on this thread that Oblivion's graphics are better than DAO's? thats wrong... wtf?
here you go... 1600x900 all on highest and 8x aa
