Im signed up to get news from them whenever they got news on the closed beta. I was a part of the Alpha back then. The game is good, i'd say better than torchlight. (because it was multiplayer and it kinda pwned).
It's so amazing how a single game can spark up an entire industry of
ARPG. Every company who has ever though of making ARPGS will be profiting from the fact that millions are waiting for D3 and are in the mood for hack and slash/dungeon crawlers.
If they would of released Torchlight anytime between (2006 2007) it would of probably been laughed at and branded "yet another lackluster Diablo Clone".
But the simple fact that it was released in such a period where everyone is both desperate for D3 and receptive to any games that will help them pass the time until DDay, made it a small success.
If this Mythos has any respect for itself, it will release before D3. Otherwise you can kiss that game goodbye and throw a couple of years of development down the drain. Cause D3 is just gonna raise the ARPG bar miles up and blow away anything on the market that has anything to do with this genre.
Now is the time to make a quick dollar off us desperate D fans. Milk it good.

Mythos was good but nothing great. Graphics are made for ages 3-10. Huge balancing issues with skills and classes. Highly repetitive game play with quests and dungeons. Final bosses in dungeons were nothing more then a large version of a regular monster just colored purple or a different color.
Only right thing they did as far as I am concerned is the open PvP where you can loot items, but even that just reminds me of classic vanilla Diablo 2.
who said it was the bastard child? you had it right. its like wow graphics/colors with d2 hack n slash. id say torchlight (respectivly), diablo, and wow had a threesome and pooped this one out on us. d2 hack n slash. wow colors/graphics. torchlight gameplay. o, and i think those were some artwork things that might be shown when choosing a character. like u pick troll and u see that. could be wrong.
The Only reason it has potential is cuz of d3. u had it spot on. so sad. at least it gets people jobs. that helps i gues. imo, id put the new rune news we got ontop of the release of this game. I mean, from the little we know about d3, we already know its putting the bar up there. It will prob take another 10 years b4 people try and touch it. Go bliz, screw others. we already have torchlight. they won. dont make rebraded games.
a game that has me intersted that kind of fills this is savage 2. 3rd person mele. spam click a lot and you can spam skills. way dif but ya.
NOT A D CLONE! ITS A D MALFORMATION. LOST A CHROMOSOME OR SOMETHING
Graphical similarities aside, a hack&slash MMO could be pretty interesting. I'm kind of looking forward to the TL MMO, though, since it's free, can't afford two MMO's... but I certainly can't play another WoW-style MMO, either, need something more engaging when I don't feel like commanding spaceships.
I don't see how that's a huge difference. You don't fight in the overworld so it's essentially an extended chat channel. If you started fighting in the overworld you couldn't do hack&slash mechanics due to server pressure... so all you're saying is that it's maybe slightly more interesting in its implementation of the chat channel than Diablo II / other Hack&Slashes / Guild Wars.
A classic MMO would be EverQuest, not WoW... or maybe even Ultima. Seriously, just because some MMO is popular doesn't make it neither true nor classic, that concept doesn't even apply here, MMO's are just games with a persistent world with a ton of players in it. They all copy each other but there is nothing classic or true about copying each other, for God's sake.
Somehow you think that various Hack&Slashes are clones of Diablo but fail to acknowledge that WoW is a clone of EverQuest and maybe even something prior to that.
Mythos is like playing D2 on battlenet except that the channels are actually instanced towns... Not exactly but yeah.
I played and finished the alpha, the content that was available then was like 3 acts if im not wrong. I played as a marksman (if im not wrong again) and pwned.
I joined parties with other warriors (forgot how they are called) and mages... it was really nice, you could see the benefits from each class compiling into one strong party.
Cant wait for open beta.

Siaynoq's Playthroughs
Also, yay, you can play as... Tauren ripoffs?...
:/ Kinda wierd, I like my hack n slash with just humans...
Lol?
I didn't check out Torchlight for the sole reason that it wasn't multiplayer. That's what makes gaming fun.

Again, I fail to see the problem.
