Could we see a Ladder system get tied into the new Paragon system?
What im not really keen on is leveling being the primary element that motivates doing a new season.
I don’t think it appeals to that many people.
Well, you are wrong Mister Wilson... like so many Times before.

WD is nerfed. Yes, the increase damage is good, but over all, the class is the weakness class. If you going to nerfed VQ, at the very least, decrease the resource requirement.
Wiz take 10 seconds with no passive to recharge all resource. WD requires 13 seconds with VQ active. So how is this a bluff?
You don't seem to understand what "nerfed" means.
It certainly doesn't mean "I'm not happy with one change of the class". -

You have to understand what I said Maka. It's that _these_ bugs can fixed easily, and instead of Blizz pushing them far away into 1.0.4 they just release them now, because they're already done with. It would be a waste to not have them patched in when they're completed code. A waste for both the developers and the gamers.Quote from maka

There's nothing wrong with bug fix patches but how about they actually fix the bugs that matter then?
...this.
When the bug fixes _we_ want get done they'll surely be patched in as well, but I suspect most of them will be in 1.0.4 or (hopefully not) in the hotfixes/letter patches after it.
Don't get me wrong. I still have the Day 1 bugged achievements which are also affecting a lot of my meta achievements and it's really annoying. Or the melee Mortar bugs or IAS on some legendary gear and just many others. But you can't just yell for these to get fixed and expect that to help the process of fixing them. -

Blizzcon in a Box Contest
Not able to grab a Blizzcon ticket before they all sold out? Fear not we have the perfect solution here for you today, "Blizzcon in a Box"! Blizzard has stuffed these boxes with everything any group of friends would need to host their own Blizzcon viewing party while watching Blizzcon using the Virtual Ticket. We have multiple ways for you to enter - so keep reading for rules, as well as what the box holds! Check out our entire announcement here.
New Expansion Patch: Loot Runs Renamed to Nephalem Rifts, New Passive Effects, Massive Class Changes
SPOILERS AHEAD - We have strings, items, maps, you name it.
THINGS WILL CHANGE BEFORE LIVE - This is clearly a super early not ready for release build - A lot of class strings are even missing.
DATAMINING CAN HAVE ERRORS - We are dealing with unknown and new formats, stuff can be crazy.
New Interface, Icons and Graphics
A few new things have been added to the game files. Among them: the World Map; Reaper of Souls reworked skill bar; Passive icons for the Crusader and the new Passives for the old classes; Skill icons for the new skills to old classes; General Torion and Urzael icons; Adventure mode elements.
New Passive Effects
A few passive effects have been changed and a LOT have been added. All these strings can and will change, because of they have been datamined from an early, early version of the game.

World Map, Nephalem Rifts, Health Globe Buffs
The current difficulties have been removed from crafting reagent's tooltips. Also more World Map strings have been added and Loot Runs have been renamed to Nephalem Rifts. Not to be confused with Nephalem Trials. Needless to say this is a very, very, very early build of the game so considering absolutely nothing below as final.

Class Changes
A huge amount of class changes this patch. Be warned that they're still in the process of formatting. And just to be sure, these are changes to the extremely super early build of the game, which means everything will change! Nothing you see below is final.

Even More Diffs
Some more diffs were found, like clan and chat options, some minor lore, tutorials for PlayStation 4 and item names. And again, nothing you read below is final. Super early build of the game.

More Paragon 2.0 Clarifications
A few more clarification on Paragon 2.0 have been given, including information on the distribution across tabs of your Paragon points.

Don't make the same mistake again by telling players what stat to take.
Just to be super clear, when you earn a Paragon Point, that point will only be restricted to a specific category, NOT to a specific stat. Within each category (Core Stats, Offene, Defense, and Utility), there are four different stats, and you will have the freedom to choose which stat that point will be assigned to.
So, for example, if you've just earned a point in Offense, you'd have the opportunity to assign it to Attack Speed, Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Damage, or Cooldown Reduction. If you've just earned a point in Utility, you could assign it to Maximum [Resource], Magic Find, Movement Speed, or Gold Pick Up Radius.
Again, the round-robin style only limits which category you earn Paragon Points in; it doesn't restrict which stat within that category you can assign that particular point to.
The removal of innate doesn't need to suck. As long as they can provide enough point per level. For example, as we can only put 1 point to MF every 4 lvl, if that point increase the MF by at least 10% then it is OKish. We would still have our MF as now, just a little bit later that is all.
I really wish Lylirra would confirm the details of the change.
The bonus granted by each Paragon Point currently varies per category, and sometimes per stat. For example, all the Core Stats options grant +5 per point and all the Offense options grant +0.20% per point. Meanwhile, the options in Defense and Utility grant different bonuses per point. To use Utility as an example again, each point spent in Maximum [Resource] will grant +1.00, while each point spent in Movement Speed will grant +0.50%.
Keep in mind that, while the bonus increments you're able to earn through Paragon 2.0 may differ from the current system, we're also making fairly notable changes to items, monsters, hero skills, and game difficulty. Paragon 2.0 numbers are being balanced with those changes in mind (rather than how the game plays right now), which makes a significant difference.
(Again, none of this is final and totally subject to change before release. We may decide to change what bonuses we give out or how much the bonuses are worth. This is just to give you an idea.)
thanks for your answer. You are right, most people will probably be aiming for mainstat + vitality. But don't forget, that there is a cap for these stats, so you can't dump all of your paragon points into one single stat.
As noted by Travis Day in his sticky thread, there is a cap to the total number of Paragon Points players can earn in the Offense, Defense, and Utility categories; however, there is no cap for the Core Stats category. This means that after you've capped Offense, Defense, and Utility (which will currently occur at Paragon 800), any Paragon levels you gain after that will award you a Paragon Point in the Core Stats category.
At present all categories other than Core Stats (Str, Int, Dex, Vit) have a cap on the number of points that can be allocated to them, which also means there is a cap to the total number of points that 3 of the 4 categories can have. If you reach Paragon 800, you will have maxed the number of points that can be allocated to the Offensive, Defensive, and Utility categories and all future Paragon levels will grant you a point in the Core Stat category instead.
More on "Create a Legendary"
Lylirra gave some explanation on what the new Create a Legendary project is and how you can get in on the action!

To makes things a bit more interactive, we're also giving the community the ability to contribute to different parts of the design process for this particular Legendary item. We'll be using polls, podcasts, and contests to facilitate this. This certainly isn't a new idea, and it definitely isn't groundbreaking, but we think it'll be fun (and ideally educational).

Quality of life updates are usually small changes that make navigating the game a little more convenient for everyone -- like highlighting numbers in green when it's an upgrade in the Quick Comparison window, for example, or marking the mini-map with a star icon whenever a Legendary item drops.
If you're having trouble narrowing down exactly what kind of changes qualify as "quality of life," here are a few more examples of things already in Diablo III to help get the creative process rolling:

Introducing: Design a Legendary
Ever wanted to help create a Legendary item that makes it into the game? Now's your chance! Blizzard is launching a campaign to create a Legendary item from a community idea and everyone will have a chance to help create said item. On top of that there will be many interesting blogs incoming about the process of creating a Legendary and implementing it into the game. Fun times are ahead!
Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Well, hang on to your hauberks, Sanctuary, and ready your anvils. It’s time to get crafty.
The "Design a Legendary" Project
Inspired by the many passionate discussions we've seen about itemization (particularly Legendary itemization) in Diablo III, we wanted to take some time to expand on our evolving design philosophies and practices, as well as reiterate our goals for Legendaries in Reaper of Souls.
As we started to put our pens to the proverbial paper, though, we had an epiphany: "Hey, instead of just telling players about item design, why not actually show them?"
And so the Design a Legendary project was born.
So, How's It Work?
Over the next few months, we'll take you through the all the different design stages behind bringing a single Legendary item to life, from concept to creation to iteration, all the way through animation and implementation. We'll chat with each developer involved and share progress updates along the way, giving you a unique behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making a Legendary item that looks epic, feels epic, and fits within the larger network of hero skills, monster tuning, and overall game balance.
Pretty sweet, huh?
But wait -- that’s only one part of this project! (Oh snap.)
Tell Us More, Lylirra!
We'll also be involving you, our awesome community, in various parts of the design process. Leading up to release of Reaper of Souls, you'll have the opportunity to not only weigh in, but actually help guide development on a Legendary item that will be implemented and playable. We'll be holding global community votes, hosting podcasts, soliciting ideas, and even running a contest or two to ensure that this is truly a worldwide, player-driven initiative.
The result? We hope this activity will help give players a better understanding of everything that goes into item design, as well as wind up being something that's both fun and uniquely interactive. Also, once everything is said and done, there will be a Legendary item in the game that you had a hand in making. How cool is that?!
We'll be kicking off the first stage of this project next week, so stay tuned to diablo3.com and get ready to Design a Legendary!

So far it looks like the precious Magic Find and Gold Find points we've been gathering with Paragon levels will become available for assigning to other stats when Paragon 2.0 arrives. A lot more info on the subject was shared by Lylirra on the Official forums.
Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

The basic gist is pretty straightforward, though. If your character is considered to be at max level cap, that character will earn Paragon experience. If your character isn't considered to be at max level cap, it won't earn Paragon experience.
since obviously Loot 2 will come before RoS, what will happen to the paragon points you have earned if you install RoS to raise your lvl cap to 70? will they vanish, because you no longer can paragon-level until you reach the NEW cap?
Nothing will happen to your existing Paragon levels or Points in that scenario. You'll just stop earning Paragon experience while you level up from 60 to 70, which means you won't be gaining any additional Paragon levels or Points during that time either (but you also won't be losing any). Once you reach level 70, you'll start earning Paragon experience again from where you left off. Easy-peasy.
Will dead HC characters with paragon levels count towards our total? I don't think this has been answered yet.
For clarity, this has not been decided yet.
Is blizzard removing the MF/GF bonus currently with the paragon levels, and are we going to have to assign points to MF/GF, if we choose, over other stats?
Yup. Under current design, that's how it'll work. (Everything still subject to change, of course.)
Bit more detail: When Paragon 2.0 goes live, the innate bonuses granted by the current system will be removed; all the Paragon experience across your characters will be added together to determine your new shared Paragon level; and then, based on that level, each of your characters will be granted a specific number of Paragon Points (your total # of shared Paragon levels = your total # of Paragon Points). From there, players will be able to allocate their Paragon Points into different stats across four different categories: Core Stats, Offensive, Defensive, and Adventure. Magic Find is available in the "Adventure" category. Gold Find isn't a Paragon 2.0 stat right now, but again...that may change.
(Note that what category a Paragon Point can be spent in will be determined by what Paragon level you earn. Paragon level 1 gives you a point to spend in "Core Stat," Paragon level 2 gives you a point to in "Offensive," Paragon level 3 gives you a point to spend in "Defensive," and Paragon level 4 gives you a point to spend in "Utility" (or "Adventure"). Each Paragon level past that follows the same pattern.)
Removing this bonus and making us spend points on MF/GF reverts back to the original problem that the paragon system originally solved: the gear swapping. How is this going to be handled?
Gear swapping is still a concern, and getting rid of the innate bonuses and having Magic Find as a Paragon 2.0 stat does reintroduce some issues. That's something we're still tinkering around with, but haven't settled on a design solution for just yet (a few other gameplay systems and changes need to be finalized first). I fully anticipate that will be something we communicate to players ahead of time, before it's implemented, or at least once we lock down exactly what we'd like to do.

It's a matter of whether or not you wish to utilize the item. If you think something would best benefit you by trading it, it should not be enchanted or transmogrified. If it's instead something you see yourself wearing for a while, you should feel good about customizing it to fit your needs (visually or mechanically via Enchanting). Doing either is meant to be a player decision that carries weight.
TR:DL Will transmog allow to double equip same appearance items as weapons if the legendaries that they were made of are Unique Equipped?
Yes! You can visually be wielding two Skycutters, so long as you have unlocked its appearance.
Why not? Why is "similar animations" the limit? Why can't you 'mog an item's appearance and it's animation?
It would open up a lot of unintended options, such as swinging a bow like a sword. While we could ensure these oddities generally don't occur, we'd prefer a system that's always working.
will this count items id'ed prior to 2.0 or only post 2.0?
We're still working on some of the finer details, so I don't have an answer to this just yet.

(We actually had 7 skills available for a pretty substantial period of time before Diablo III shipped; however, after lots of testing and feedback rounds, we reduced the number to 6. So, this is definitely something we've not only considered, but also evaluated heavily in the actual game environment.)
Now, we know that some players may disagree with that approach. Totally cool, but let me turn the question back on you (and then add a few more), because learning why you prefer one gameplay feature over another is super meaningful. Also, sometimes it can be pretty fun, too.

With the high expectations coming towards Reaper of Souls there are a few request-like questions that appear on the official forums. One such is the idea of console controller support for the PC version. Spoiler alert: Not happening.

We're glad you're excited about Reaper of Souls!
We'll have a lot more information about it in the coming months, but at this time we don't have any plans for supporting analog controller hookup for the PC version of Diablo III. Similarly, since the console version of Diablo III was designed from the ground up with a controller in mind, the PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 version of Diablo III do not support USB mice or keyboards.
Interview With a Barbarian Cosplayer
You can take your hobby to a whole new hight if you have the right amount of passion, time and patience. This is evident from the amazingly detailed and realistic costume of Lily Spitfyre - a barbarian cosplayer that won an award for her hard work at Fan Expo Masquerade. Gamefront made an interview with her and put her in their spotlights. Check out a short excerpt from the article here, but make sure to read the whole article itself as well.
DiabloFans Quote:
Lily’s barbaric oeuvre took eight months to complete — from September until August, with a few months off in between when setbacks prevented her from working on the costume. Toward the end, she was working on it for four to five hours a day. “There’s a lot of last-minute stuff [that goes into costume-making],” she said.
“The week before [Toronto's Fan Expo] was super crunch time. The day that I was leaving to go to the convention, I woke up at 6 am, painted the last leg bracer, stuck it under a fan, went outside, painted the axe, came inside, stuck them both under a fan, packed everything else, and then wrapped them in plastic bags just in case the paint wasn’t dry, and put them in the suitcase, hopped on the bus and went to Toronto.”
Jaetch's Ninja Wizard: Take 2

TaeHyeon Hong, is an avid fan of the Diablo series and a prolific paper artist, and recently some members of the Korean Community Team contacted him to find out more about what inspired his impressive figures (Tyrael's sword, El'druin, even lights up!). Read on below to learn about this particular artisan's Sanctuary-themed crafts, or check out the original article here.
I first caught a glimpse of Sanctuary as an elementary school student while watching my older cousins playing Diablo II. It was the monsters and the backdrop of each location that really impressed me then. Of course, there was also the in-game video cinematics.
When Diablo III launched to popular reception, Diablo once again caught my attention. I got my hands on its story and illustrations, videos and other various materials, and soon wanted to create the Diablo character from paper.
Tyrael was inspired after watching his cinematic appearance. The bright luminous wings were impressive too, but what really attracted me was the righteous image of an Archangel giving all he had to protect the people of Sanctuary.
Creating Diablo and Tyrael from paper required a lot of time planning and various reference materials. Luckily, my elder sister borrowed a copy of Book of Cain at her university library, and it was very helpful in completing my figures.
Ever since I was a little kid, I was fascinated by paper-craft and paper-folding. In fact, I continue to challenge myself with new projects, learning along the way. There’s still a long ways to go, but time allowing, I would love to try crafting more characters from the game Diablo, but with higher quality than my latest efforts.
I hope you enjoy my pieces. ^^
