Considering the "Hell" difficulty is called "Tormento" in portuguese, I was a bit confused about the changes. (Poor localization team, there's not much you can do when "Hell" translates to "Inferno". Oops)

Ha, so true. Hell = Inferno.

This could very well be the case. That's why the red warnings.

This is nothing but speculation, but I can see them revamping difficulties. Removing the requirement of defeating the one to unlock the other and simply giving players the ability to switch between them as difficulties in other games let you do. I can see Monster Power being removed as an option and being integrated into the difficulties themselves. Much like it is on the console version. You start your game and choose your difficulty.

That would explain adding a 5th difficulty, removing the requirement from the tooltip and giving the players that feel they don't want to play past Normal a great answer.

Datamining: Stat Caps Removed, Achievements and More
The stat caps for Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Damage and Attack Speed have been removed from the datamined files. The Lifesteal change is new though, so it remains. The other stats like Magic Find have not been touched.

There are some other interesting strings that we managed to find. Notice the name of the required difficulty.

As always, keep in mind that this is a super early build of the expansion, which means that absolutely nothing is final and everything can change at any time!

Regarding the existing monster affixes. We'll be keeping an eye on these. For example, Reflects Damage internally has been changed to a flat amount rather than a percentage. I don't know if it's going to ship this way but that's the current internal version.

    Transmogrification Clarifications
The current plan for transmogrification is to allow players both to change the look of their Legendaries, as well as to change the look of their gear to Legendaries they have previously identified.

With Transmogrification, we want you to be able to make your character look the way you want without having to worry about sacrificing stats or unique affixes. There may be times you acquire a really awesome looking Legendary, but it doesn't jive well with your build. If you managed to find it, we think you should be able to rock it while you slaughter demons in style.

Is there any chance this could be a system of "vanity slots" though, instead of having to actually modify each piece of gear?
Transmogrifying items is attached to the individual item, and the current plan is to have it bind the item to your account. It's part of the "cost," so to speak. In addition, avoiding the use of vanity slots allows us to reduce player item management, as you don’t need to keep an item around for its appearance. Appearances will be unlocked either by leveling up the Mystic or, in the case of Legendaries, identifying the item. We feel this system is a bit more versatile as a result.

Will this cost money? As in, dollars or gold.
Currently, the plan is that it will cost only gold (and using a Legendary appearance naturally costs a bit more). Of course, this is subject to change as development continues.

I am wondering if you will be planning on take the route that was taken by wow to let you transmog an item to look like one in the same slot that is not the same type.
Within reasonable limitations. Items that share similar animations can be Transmogrified, such as a 1-handed sword to 1-handed axe (which both have a swinging animation), but you cannot change a javelin (which has an overhead thrusting animation) into either. New Datamined Patch - Class Changes, Passive Effects, Item Graphics and MUCH more

SPOILERS AHEAD - We have strings, items, maps, you name it.
THINGS WILL CHANGE BEFORE LIVE - This is clearly a super early not ready for release build - A lot of class strings are even missing.
DATAMINING CAN HAVE ERRORS - We are dealing with unknown and new formats, stuff can be crazy.

    New Graphics
These are some images we found in the files.

    Passive Effect Changes
The list of passive effects has grown with one more! Meanwhile several have been changed. Check them out below. It's fair to give a reminder that this is a super early build of the expansion, which means that absolutely nothing is final and everything can change at any time!

    DiabloFans Quote:

    • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_523_x1 - Summon a Fetish Army after you kill 2 Elites. (Previously 20 Elites)
    • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_618_x1 - Locust Swarm lasts almost forever. (Previously doubled the duration)
    • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_619_x1 - While casting Town Portal you gain a protective bubble that prevents interruption and absorbs 50% damage. (Previously made an immunity bubble)
    • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_644_x1 - When you kill an enemy, it explodes for 500% of your Life per Kill as damage to all enemies within 20 yards. You no longer benefit from your Life per Kill. (Previously increased chance to find Health Globes by 100%)
    • ItemPassive_Unique_Ring_648_x1 - Enemies slain while Feared die in a bloody explosion and cause other nearby enemies to flee in Fear. (New)

Life Steal, Monster Affix, Adventure Mode and Many Other New Strings
As usual a lot of new and interesting strings have been added to the files. Again, these are changes to a very, very early build of the game and everything can and most likely will change.

    • HealthPotionLegendary_06 - Oh Yeah!
    • Unique_Shield_102_x1 - When their caravans are threatened, the Vecin will supplement their meager weapons and armor with whatever materials they have on hand. This unremarkable wooden shield has been adorned with countless charms and enchantments meant to protect its wielder, from the magical silk that has been wrapped around its surface to the glowing pendants and jingling mystical trinkets that dangle from the shield's rim.
    • Unique_Polearm_101_x1 - This polearm was crafted by the finest ungulate smiths — its blade fired in the Hellforge, quenched in the rancid milk of the Cow King, and enchanted by that selfsame monarch. In addition to its significant martial benefits, the Bovine Bardiche may also summon forth a veritable army of cows to fight on its wielder’s behalf.
    • Unique_Shield_103_x1 - Legend has it that the parma was crafted by the god Hefaetrus himself and that it is his unparalleled artifice that grants it power. This shield was the prize awarded to the victor of the Philios Games, held every four years in the shadow of Mount Karcheus. In these games, Amazonian competitors tested their strength, agility, and cunning.
    • Unique_Shield_101_x1 - This aged, wolf-crested shield bears scars from hundreds of battles. It was presented to the original Knight Commander of Westmarch by King Korsikk as the first official act after his coronation. Since then, it has been borne by many of the order’s greatest heroes, and its bearer is accorded all the respect such a badge of honor deserves.
    • Unique_Xbow_102_x1 - Because of the consummate skill required to construct them, Wojahnni heavy crossbows are reserved for the officer class. As the Assaulter’s effectiveness is essential to the nation’s military superiority, they are seldom found intact outside of Wojahn since there is a simple peg inserted in the weapon that, when pulled, causes it to fall to pieces.
    • Unique_Xbow_101_x1 - The gross ornamentation of this crossbow belies the solid construction and powerful draw weight that make it a deadly weapon. As bowyer to King Leoric, Chanon was ordered to produce a crossbow capable of defeating the forces of Westmarch or watch his family be put to the sword. Chanon complied, creating this masterpiece, which the mad king promptly tested on the hapless craftsman.
    • Unique_Polearm_102_x1 - Commissioned by Emperor Hakan II to outfit his imperial guard, the Foushee weaponsmiths involved in the creation of this ceremonial polearm made every effort to ensure the voulge would be as effective in combat as on the parade grounds, and it shows. Well balanced, sturdy, and razor sharp, this weapon was instrumental in maintaining order during Caldeum’s siege.
    • Unique_Mace_1H_102_x1 - This mace once belonged to a holy man who reluctantly took up arms against a demon invasion. As a worshiper of the sun, Graham called his weapon Solanium, meaning "bearer of the sun's light". The longer Graham struggled against the forces of darkness, the more his faith grew infused within the mace, until the mundane object became an item of immense righteous power.
    • Unique_Axe_2H_101_x1 - This two-handed axe was once an ornate, exquisite weapon, until it fell into the hands a murderous clan of goatmen. Years of misuse and crude modifications have marred the original beauty of the axe, but the deadly effectiveness of its martial enchantments remain as strong as ever.
    • Unique_Sword_1H_106_x1 - After slaying many a traveler, the Ghoul King was at last dethroned by an adventurer in search of hidden nephalem artifacts. The monster’s sword vanished after the fatal encounter, but it was recently discovered tangled in the roots of a sickly tree in the Festering Woods. The wicked blade still shares its late master’s hunger for living flesh.
    • Unique_Sword_1H_103_x1 - Silaria, a renowned explorer, traveled the length and breadth of Sanctuary in search of adventure. This sword was designed with her compact build and lethally efficient fighting style in mind, and it is reputed to imbue its wielder with Silaria's prowess.
    • Unique_Sword_1H_102_x1 - In days long past, the now-ruined city of Khamhalla was ruled by a wise nephalem king. The symbol of his authority was the sword Exarian, gifted to him by the Lady of Light. Legend has it that, though betrayed and gravely wounded during Khamhalla’s fall, the king did not die, but was borne away across the sea to return when Sanctuary needs him again. The reappearance of Exarian heralds his return.
    • Unique_Sword_1H_101_x1 - This ancient blade, imbued with unpredictable elemental energies, crossed vast universes and hidden dimensions before arriving in Sanctuary. Thunderfury seeks the hand of a true hero, one capable of safely wielding its awesome power.
    • Unique_Dagger_102_x1 - The notorious criminal Prowl terrorized Kingsport for years, her calling card a single stab wound directly to the base of the skull. Contemptuous of both the city watch and the thieves’ guild, Prowl was finally stopped through the unprecedented cooperation of both, but not before she’d fatally stabbed a dozen of those sent to end her reign of terror.
    • Unique_Shield_104_x1 - The demon smith Vo'Toyias designed this shield to inflict great injury upon those daring to attack its bearer. The wicked brass spikes that bristle along the shield's surface make it a formidable weapon in its own right, however, allowing its wielder to make deadly counterattacks.
    • Unique_Dagger_101_x1 - This elegantly curved dagger infused with subtle magic was stolen from the Sisterhood of the Sightless Eye by the dark ranger Coldcrow, who would use the blade's keen edge to finish off her foes. Visions gleaned from staring into the dagger’s mirror finish would lead Coldcrow to her victims’ most prized possessions, no matter how well hidden.

It’s a matter of how you frame the intent of a platform like Twitter. The restriction on characters encourages you to very carefully construct your thoughts, and that challenge can allow you to observe and analyze a situation in a different manner. Consider it an exercise in a different style of critical thinking.

In addition, I want to note that the use of Twitter isn't the sole way we’re collecting feedback. My intent was to give folks a heads up on this particular outreach, in case it had been missed.

they should really keep the important discussions here.
Keeping a discussion in a single place is generally not productive. That’s not exclusive to social media; whether it’s forums or elsewhere, limiting discussion by venue does a disservice to a very wide and diverse community. We understand not all players use Twitter. That’s true for the forums as well, and we want to make sure we gather as much feedback as possible. There’s a ton of discussion happening here on the forums and it's not going unnoticed. =)

I wish we'd get a more comprehensive statement about why they are removing the Auction Houses. We got a sudden notice and some boilerplate about it "not fitting in with the plan."
We have covered some of the finer details in our Auction House Update FAQ. The short version is that we want to ensure a rewarding and exciting loot experience. The Auction House and the economy it creates forces different decisions in how we approach loot. It was not a light decision to make, but we believe it’s in the best interests for Diablo III.

I do want to say that I see a lot of constructive feedback in this thread, and that’s awesome! If you have feedback, you’re welcome to continue using this thread to provide it (I’ll keep an eye out and extend the cap if necessary). We want you guys to keep talking, batting around ideas, and letting us know your thoughts as we share new developments. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

    Whose Fault is EU's Lag?
Well for one I don't think Blizzard wants to provide us with information unless it is 100 % confirmed. Can you imagine the outcry if Blizzard speculated on the cause and was wrong?
We generally do not like to post things unless we are 100% sure that they are correct, because the outcry is always bad if it turns out we are wrong... the outcry would be even worse if we started blaming third parties ;-)

I do agree they could be a bit more vocal and really assure everyone that they are doing everything in their power to handle this issue since I am sure we all agree these lags are a terrible detriment to our gameplay experience.
I can assure you that we are doing everything we can to resolve this issue, and we are not ignoring the latency reports you guys are submitting. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

For our latest community question, we want to know: What side quest or event in Diablo III do you find the most interesting, and why?

Perhaps it was the waves of skeletons during Jar of Souls, the relentless meteors during the Scouring of Caldeum, or the challenge and danger nestled deep within the Crumbling Vault? What memorable side stories have stuck with you or made you raise an eyebrow?

Find Your Friends at the BlizzCon Meeting Stone
This year Blizzard decided to do something interesting for BlizzCon in order to make people feel more welcome and among friends - today they introduced a new subforum specifically for finding other people that are attending BlizzCon as well, so that you can hang out with them there.

Located between Halls B and C, The Meeting Stone is an easy and recognizable gathering point as it will literally contain a giant life-sized Meeting Stone. No more hiking upstairs to squint at each other in a well-lit room, this year you’ll be able to meet up at this central location and be just a scant few meters away from the main stage, demo areas, and other attractions.

The Blizzard Community Team and other staff members will be on-hand to interact with those summoned to the Meeting Stone (and to mitigate potential corpse camping). We’ll be putting together a schedule to reserve space and times for larger groups, to also be displayed at the event.

Please visit the new Meeting Stone forum if you’re interested in arranging a specific time for your group meetup.

I am here in d3 forums to ask for your help making a list of good Vs Evil as the heading says. this is what i got so far
Good: Monk - Demon Hunter - Crusader - Amazon - Druid - Paladin - Sorceress
Evil: Barbarian - Wizard - Witch Doctor - Assassin - Necromancer
While I can't say I personally agree with all of your classifications, I'm curious: do you consider Zoltun Kulle to be good or evil? Why? (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

    Loot From Breaking In-Game Items
I have not played console version a lot because I'm a pretty busy guy, but when I do play... I love breaking things like graves, barrels, ashes, etc. Why? Because I just love breaking things!
But... most importantly, on console it is worth it even if you don't like to do it! Why? Because let me tell you a little secret. Out of the rough estimate of say... 50 legendarys I've found this far, at least 15 have flown out of things you break. So start breaking things!!! You get free loot!
Breaking all the things and looting all the stuff isn't everyone's preferred method of play, but I'm happy to hear that some of you are finding that it's worth your time. Personally, I love smashing breakables in Diablo III console, and have noticed that I have decent luck with finding awesome stuff when I do. Does anyone else try to stick with builds that have a spammable aoe ability just so you can easily break stuff?

monk w/ Sweeping Wind is a good way to just 'splode everything breakable.
That's what I'm currently using on console, but it feels like it wears off to quickly without using the Master of Wind rune. However, I think the Witch Doctor's Firebomb - Ghost Bomb is my favorite way to quickly break a lot of stuff. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

posted a message on D3 Barbarian Origin, Update on Lag in Public EU Games, Blue Posts
    D3 Barbarian Origin
Is D3's Barbarian a different character from D2's Barbarian? As you can see below - it was intended to be the same hero, but Blizzard changed their mind during the development process.

Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

When the Enchantress asks the Barbarian "Are you considered handsome in your lands?" or something like that, the Barb responds with "I am old now, but still strong, and that is what matters." Now this leads to the question, if the Prime evils broke lose 20 years ago, and this Barbarian is strong enough to single handedly kill the collection of all 7 evils combined, does it not seem logical that he was in fact the same Barbarian who killed Diablo and his brothers the first time?

Also, it sounds like the Barbarian knew Deckard Cain before the events of D3. In act 2, Leah said that she wanted to explore The Great Library of Caldeum, and the Barbarian responds "You are more like your uncle than you know." If we also take into account that in the course of the D3 story line, the Barbarian knew Deckard Cain for like a day or two before he died. Hardly enough time to make a detailed judgement of person in my opinion, so how would the Barbarian know that Leah was more like her uncle than she knew?

These are just the reasons why I think the Barb is the same, I actually have no idea, or it might be well known that the barb is/isn't the same. I don't know and that's why I'm asking :D
Since you're looking for confirmation one way or the other, let me clarify:

Initially during the development of Diablo III we intended that the male Barbarian was the same character from Diablo II, but during the development process, we later revisited the idea and decided that our Diablo III heroes should be unique to Diablo III.

While there are references to the exploits of past heroes scattered around Sanctuary (such as that of the Necromancer), this story belongs to a new group of heroes. :)

Thank you for your continued repoirts everyone, we're forwarding these on for investigation and our networking team has been alerted to the issue, I don't have any further news on this just yet but it is being actively investigated on our side.

As part of that do please continue to post these reports. We'd also ask that you let your network providers know too. This will allow all affected parties to investigate the issue, allowing for a quicker resolution.

Thank you again for posting these reports, your co-operation and your patience.

    Hello again,

Thank you for continuing to report this issue and to provide the info requested in this post:
    http://eu.battle.net...091423?page=1#5

As we've said previously, and I'll say it again; we are looking into this issue. We ask you to contact your ISPs too to ensure that all affected parties are involved and investigating too. We are not laying the blame at anyone's feet. We just need everyone involved with this ongoing investigation to be informed, while we also continue to investigate from our side.

We need you to continue to post the info we requested above, in order to fully look into this issue.

Please note that all non-reports will be removed. I do understand that this issue is frustrating, but the tech forum is not for recriminations or for off topic discussions. We need information in this thread, such as trace routes and pathpings. Giving us this info will allow us to investigate with far greater effiency.

So again, thank you in advance for continuing to post the info requested in the thread I linked above. And thank you for your patience while we look into this.

Hi Aeon, yes that's part of the trace route, but we need the full trace route. As well as the rest of the information. Again, here's the link to the info we need:
    http://eu.battle.net...091423?page=1#5

The time outs after hitting our network is entirely normal and happens on every trace route, even when there isn't a connection issue we're looking into. It's done for security reasons.

In the trace route article, you can see this information reiterated at the bottom of the article.

except all the useless junk information they ask from us, which have nothing to do with the matter..
We are asking for this info because it is vital for us to look into this issue. Our network team asks for this info, so we have to ask you for it. You may not see the need for it, but we do.

So thank you for posting the info we requested, it's a great help for us.

those of us who have lost characters and / or items due to this issue can you give us any insight if there is going to be a chance of us being able to get them back?
I'm sorry, if an item or hero is lost due to disconnection or other termination of the game, there's no way to get it back.

As repeated earlier, this thread is here to gather info on a current issue, and we are using that information to investigate.

To re-highlight the info we need, you can find it here:
    http://eu.battle.net...091423?page=1#5

I understand it's frustrating at the moment, but we are looking into this and we are using the info you post to investigate. I don't have any further updates at the moment, and we are asking that you contact your ISPs as well. This does not mean we are blaming your ISPs, just that we are in a process of investigating the issue at the moment.

We are removing posts because the vast majority of posts on this thread are defamatory or outright hostile. I understand you're upset, but we need to keep this thread civil as it abides by the rules that all threads on these forums abide by. The only way we've been able to keep control of this thread is to remove anything not related to either questions we as support agents can answer, or the information we have requested.

We don't have an update on this at the moment, I know that's not what you want to hear and I understand this is an infuriating time, but it's all I have to share right now. Please do continue to post the info we requested, as every bit of info is vital for us to look into this. Thank you again for being patient and for your co-operation.

Ensuring that each class is fun to play, unique, and powerful is very important to us. There are changes being made to all of the classes in Reaper of Souls, and the results of those changes are difficult to predict when much of it is still being developed. We'll be sure to post more information about class updates as we they get finalized, but in the meantime this is a great discussion, and thanks to everyone who's participating in it. Still No ETA on Pre-RoS Patch
We don’t yet have a release date for all the changes included in Loot 2.0. Our goal, however, is to release some of the new features we’ve discussed for Reaper of Souls with a pre-expansion patch. Loot 2.0 changes are definitely something we’d like to be a part of that patch, but there are still things that have to be taken care of before we'll have any additional information to share about it. We'll be posting updates about the pre-expansion patch, Reaper of Souls, and Loot 2.0 itself as we iron out the details, so be sure to keep an eye out for them. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

    Paragon Respecs Discussion
I'm all for having the ability to respec, but I think both paragon and skill respecs neeed to have some kind of limiting factor. I don't think you should be able to change them on a whim.
We currently don't have any plans to limit the number of Paragon respecs, but it'd be cool to hear your thoughts on the subject. It'd be nice to have additional detail on why you feel one way or the other, so I'll write down a few questions to help guide the conversation.
    • Why is limiting/unlimiting Paragon respecs necessary for the game?
    • How does limiting/unlimiting respecs improve your game experience?
    • What sort of limits would you suggest, and why? (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
