    Hi,

Just wanted to confirm that we do indeed view this as a bug, but we want to be conservative about fixing bugs that result in a nerf to items people have already found.

The black damage bugs should be fixed for items that drop in Loot 2.0. The changes in console to Ad % to elemental damage are a reflection of this philosophy.

Not asking about what kind of loot they drop here.
*flips open National Geographic: Sanctuary Edition*

Treasure goblins are highly trained professionals, specializing in the transportation of valuable goods throughout the dangerous lands of Sanctuary. They are particularly skilled at engaging evasive maneuvers when avoiding the hostilities of local Nephalem. Though the reward may be great, one must be cautious in approaching the timid and excitable Treasure Goblin, lest you find yourself guided through a gauntlet of dangerous elite packs.

In summary, yes, % Bonus Damage to Elites applies to Treasure Goblins. ;P (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

The Devs Are Gathering Feedback on the AH Removal
We’re very aware of the community's varied feedback regarding the decision to remove the Auction Houses from Diablo III. From the moment the announcement went live, we've been consistently monitoring what you all have had to say and passing that information along to key people throughout Blizzard. The most important part in providing this glimpse into your thoughts is making sure we get the whole picture: positive responses, constructive criticism, non-constructive criticism, concerns, questions, and suggestions. This is pulled from forum threads, social media posts, media articles, and fan site pages (with much more in between). We also make sure every region is included so we have a global look at what the community has to say. From there, your feedback is compiled and summarized so we can distribute it to all the folks involved with Diablo III, from development to the executives and other Blizzard branches.

So what are we, as a company, doing with that feedback? The community's reaction is an important component to daily development discussions, and you have so much to say that we’re not really done collecting it yet. You may have seen Josh’stweets yesterday regarding the Auction House and trading in Diablo III. (If not, you should totally check them out and participate – it’s never too late to share your thoughts directly with the game’s director.)

We're discussing not only what you guys think, but what you'd like to see as a result of the Auction House retirement. Our plans are still evolving based on these conversations, and we’ll be sure to keep the community informed on “what’s next?” as everything starts to coalesce. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

The premise of the challenge is for you to protect a tourist while you visit the magnificent sights of Sanctuary. To set up this challenge, you just need to make a local co-op game on your console version of Diablo III, let one of the characters go idle, and then make sure to protect him or her while you adventure though Kehjistan and beyond.

DamienJohn outlines some of the important details in his thread (like what to gear the tourist with and what passive skills they should use, for example), so we encourage you to head over the Console Discussion forum to learn more and offer your feedback, or feel free to leave a comment in the section below if you'd prefer.

Good luck, safe travels, and make sure to keep that tourist alive!

Blizzard Not Worried About Duping on Consoles
Seems Blizzard is not worried for the duping that is easily achievable in D3's Console versions due to the lack of being online requirement. The philosophy here is that if a player enjoys the game, they'll keep on farming the honest and fair way.

I didn't think this was going to happen again. I created a game and opened to public when some cool ppl joined and we started talking while smashing every demon we saw. He told me my gear sucked and game me an azure wrath with 3 sockets and some crazy dmg like 14k. I took it and started playing with it thinking that it was just an amazing item this dude wasn't using any more... Then he taught me how to dupe and showed me some crazy rare rings with close to 12 magical properties each. Right away I went to do some research and found out about modded items and duping and stuff. If I get my acc erase with my toons so be it... I dropped the sword last night before going to bed. You can have 12 trillion dmg and one shot everything... Then what? Game and the fun that I experience at the beginning of the game when it first came out for console goes out the window. I rather self find things and just play the game even if I have to struggle. Anyways! I hope a blue would at least update on the matter please... Very sad this is happening. Y'all have a good one.
In order to bring Diablo III to consoles, we knew significant changes were going to be necessary to make the game accessible to the widest possible console audience. One of those changes was the option to play offline on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. A byproduct of this feature is that these save files don't require verification, which lets you jump straight into slaughtering the minions of Hell.

While exploring ways to discourage exploitative behavior is something we're continuing to do (so thank you for your reports), players appear to be enjoying their battles through Sanctuary and finding great loot along the way. Based on feedback we've received, we believe this experience has more value than simply copying another person's set of gear.

    Josh Mosqueira Gathering Trading Feedback
While still unclear if it's some kind of a joke or if the info will be used by Blizzard in the future, D3's Game director Josh Mosqueira is gathering player opinions on Twitter regarding Trading.

The tradition is the Murlocs themed with different things relevant at that Blizzcon are rewards as pets in WoW. Not a lot of people like pets in Diablo anyway.

    Diablo III Console Patch 1.0.2

    Crash Fixes
    • Fixed a crash that could occur when quitting the game during a cutscene.
    • Fixed a crash that could occur when interacting with the stash while another player attempts to join your game.
    • Fixed a crash that could occur after connection failures caused by NAT/Firewall settings.
    • Fixed multiple crashes that could occur as a result of memory corruption.
    • Fixed crash when casting Hex with the Painful Transformation rune on a Fetish Shaman in Acts III and IV.
    • Removed unnecessary "Clear Skill" option that could appear on the Passive Skill screen and would crash the game when selected.

    Gameplay Fixes
    • Enabling Elective Mode no longer causes "New Slot" notification stars to appear for the original slot as opposed to the slot the skill is assigned to.
    • Hardcore characters in the process of taking fatal damage while exiting the Scorched Chapel will no longer be permanently killed.
    • Followers can no longer permanently lose all items after migrating from one game host to another.
    • The following four item sets will no longer repeatedly and permanently add core stat bonuses each time the player logs out of the game: Blackthorne's Armor, Endless Path, Zunimassa's Whispers, and Guardian's Contingency. (This fix will also retroactively correct inflated core stat bonuses on heroes affected by this bug prior to our hotfix going live.)
    • Equipping a quiver with a two-handed bow will no longer cause Quick Compare to incorrectly reflect a loss in damage.
    • Square gems should now only drop in Hell difficulty, which is also where the required items to combine them drop.
    • The Paragon experience bar for Player 2 and Player 4 now displays correctly instead of being visually clipped at the ends.
    • Fixed a bug that caused a player's experience bar to not display in multiplayer games if a another character with a Paragon levels had entered the game first.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the inventory to not display unidentified Legendary items.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the inventory to display equipped items twice if you exited the gem socketing sub-screen with the Select/Back button.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the controller to become stuck vibrating indefinitely.
    • Made changes to address corruptions of saved game data.

Please note that this patch is currently only available for PlayStation 3 users. While we don’t have an estimate as to when this patch will be available as a title update for Xbox 360, we will be sure to post an update once it’s live. Thanks!

    Blizzard's Console Launch Party
Blizzard hosted a great party for D3's console version launch and a few members of the team posted photos of the event on Twitter. The last one is taken by Josh Mosqueira and it's from the Mexico office party. One thing's for sure - if anything, those parties look Heavenly, instead of Hellish.

Coming up with a farming route from nothing can be a little daunting, so if you're having a hard time deciding on your path, then you may want to ask yourself some of these questions to help get the creative process started:
    • Would you like to visit all the areas you aesthetically like the most?
    • Are you trying to maximize either experience farming or loot efficiency?

    • Do you prefer indoor dungeons to outdoor environments?
