Damn... why all the hate against the man and his team? Are you guys ignorant or something? Did you even read the whole 8 pages? Do you even understand how business works? Do you know how hard it is to start a company from scratch and work everything out using your own money?
I think what Flagship studios did was an achievement! Their only mistake (and he admits this btw) is that they tried too do too much with very little money. Their only problem was, they where used to Blizzard's funding, and always having millions and millions of dollars at their disposal to make a great game. I have absolutely no doubt at all in my mind, that if HG:L had the Blizzard seal of approval on it, it would have been A LOT more than it currently is. It would have been more finished and with more content. Because let's admit it, the concept was nice, It was different and daring, but that's what Blizzard is all about.
Anyways I hope all the best for Bill Roper and the guys who used to work at Blizzard North and Flagship.
And Uleman, PLEASE GO BACK AND MAKE DIABLO III's MUSIC!!!!! (Don't get me wrong, I like the music now, at least I don't hate it, but I know that Uleman would've made something more memorable and perfect)

I have to disagree here.Quote from "JELL" »Still, a lot of people will be disapointed when the game ships, developers just can`t please everyone.
I've havent heard of anyone disappointed by a GoW sequel, or a MGS sequel, or a FF sequel, or a RE sequel. and that's just to name a few.
anyways I highly doubt that Diablo III will be anything near disappointing.

Jul 14, 2008Djinn_690 posted a message on Diablo III Thoughts From Ex-Blizzard EmployeeI think that blizzard north would have done a superb job on Diablo III if they where they ones that completed the project.Posted in: News
I would also like to point out that, considering they didn't have a fraction of the funding they had available to them when they where working with blizzard, does not make them less creative or bad game developers. I believe that if with the right funding Hell Gate London would have been a big success, sadly though they where limited to what they could do, and they probably made a miracle happen with whatever funds they had.
If they still had the funding and backing of Blizzard I'm more than sure that we would all be playing their masterpiece(Diablo III) by now and loving every second of it.
At they very least I'm sure they would never have even thought "I wonder what would happen if we make a Fast Paced Action RPG version of WoW" - which sadly seems to be what was going on in the heads of the current developers when they where working on it. -

I absolutely agree with you.Quote from "NP-RandyWest" »It sucks that Blizzard always think so much about the random retard, but never about the skilled player.
The thing that made Diablo II sooo F*****G amazing was that it was very realistic and while the action is very amazing and fast paced and there was demons running around, it was still realistic, because, u can get scammed or robbed (dont say wtf just yet) I'm not saying that I enjoy getting scammed or robbed off of a good item, but I like the fact that, just like you could get robbed in real life, you can get robbed in the game, (not to mention that some scams where genius and I couldnt help but smile after the initial shock :D)
Second, while the government controls part of the economy IRL, its mostly the people, and business men that affect it and change it all the time. but in the era that Diablo was set in, I dont think the government played a major role in the economy, so It only makes sense that its controlled by the people who play the game.
Lastly, for all you people who like the WoW-like Art, Duel system, economy system, etc, etc. STICK TO YOUR GODDAMN WoW AND LEAVE DIABLO FOR US!!!
instead of telling me to stick to playing Diablo II, You stick to your WoW!! I want Diablo III to be a "Diablo" sequel not a fast paced WoW game. -
Jul 8, 2008Djinn_690 posted a message on Diablo III PK and PvPnow I'm totally depressed!Posted in: News
blizzard is taking out the heart and soul of diablo 3 and replacing it with one from WoW.
the art direction is WoW-ish, when i paused the gameplay video over the skills it looked like the 20 skill tab on the D2 skill tree has been replaced by some WoW-like skill system.
and now the PvP aspect of the game seems like its going to lean more towards a WoW-ish view rather than a Diablo view.... WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU BLIZZARD!!! (sorry but I'm seriously frustrated)
What made the Diablo series so great was that it kept you excited, and the PvP system was one of the most exciting aspects of Diablo. knowing that you could be killed by someone at any moment is part of the fun and it kept people involved with the game.
if u didnt want that, u could always make a password proteced game or put a level tab on ur game... easy as that!!!!
The Diablo II skill tree was one of the best damn things that ever happened to the Diablo games. because of it we where able to have many many builds of the same class, the builds seemed infinite. they where certaintly much more than anything the WoW skill system offered.
And the art, NO BLIZZARD ITS NOT JUST MUSIC THAT GIVES DIABLO ITS DARK FEEL!!! music is a huge factor in the equation but even more importantly is the color scheme. NICE COLORFUL RAINBOWS DONT FEEL LIKE "DIABLO" AT ALL!!!! no matter how eerie the music playing in the background is.
Blizz needs to take their heads out of WoW's ass and look into Diablo's instead!!!
P.S please excuse me for my language but I think I have the right to be mad as I am a "Diablo" fan who has been waiting for this game to come out for 8 years!!! and seeing them turn this game to something more of a non MMO WoW game is just disgusting to me!! - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

but I think the best option would be to buy now, and keep them. buy Diablo III the day it comes out and if you think they screwed up on it sell fast. otherwise you can keep the stocks and hope that the new MMO will gradually bring it up.
but the release of Diablo III will definitely be the all time high for Blizzard in the next few years (unless of course the MMO is WoD)
*stock prices go up and down depending on rumors from/about the company and the news they release (if a nice rumor is released, people buy the stock, the prices go up, if a bad/no rumors come for a while people stop buying/start selling and prices go down)
Now would be a good time to buy because they havent released any news for a while and Blizzcon will be full of good news hopefully.

I think that shorty after Blizzcon WotLK will release (a couple of months MAX)
SC II will get the "we're just putting finishing touches on the game" and will release the beta a couple of months after Blizzcon (Blizzcon beta keys will most likely be for SCII)
Diablo III will get some juicy new info, some good interviews, but that's about it.
Oh, and its not very likely, but maybe a few lucky people who attend will get to play a demo of Diablo III (if they will though I think it will be the same demo they showed us at the announcement).

So by not giving these people the option of playing a Lan game and forcing them onto battle.net for their multiplayer needs is the worst thing possible, because it has been mentioned before that this is a multiplayer game with a single player option. In other words, its not going to be as fun on single player (which was true for Diablo and Diablo II as well) and battle.net is not an option for some.

ok... now who would complain if they had to pay 99 cents to create a ladder character?
probably a lot of people, unless the ladder content was well worth it, and I'm sure that blizzard is more than capable of making it worth it.
now blizzard could do something like that. sell cards for $0.99(create one ladder char) $3.99 (4 ladder chards) $7.99 (8 ladder chars) and people would buy them, season after season.
and people who dont want to can always play non ladder.
that way Blizzard could cover whatever expenses they need to cover for this game without having many people bitch about it.

O and we already know that the barb is the only returning character from Diablo II.

It was probably the best gaming news I've heard in.... 8 years.
I wasn't even pumped up about GoW II or any Final Fantasy game that much.
Even though I'm a fan of both series, but hardly as much as I am a fan of the Diablo Franchise.

Something like the more enemies you kill without getting hit, the higher your chances are of something good dropping from monsters.

Of course it would be very nice if Medival could talk to his contacts to double our chances at pulling this thing through, or so that they are expected by Jay.
