they're already changing that up and playing around with different things.

Not gonna happen...why should regular monsters and "mini-bosses" drop better items than the actual bosses. It's stupid and doesn't make sense. The fun in actually killing a boss is the reward you get in loot. It's like that in Wow, was like that in Diablo 2, and has to stay that way to create better gameplay. Without good drops from a boss the only thing you'll look forward to is getting killed and trying to kill it.
I'm not saying give bosses bad drops, of course bosses must have good drops. I'm just saying give scripted events better drop rates for rarer items ;)

I think that this would greatly decrease boss farming for items and make people actually go through the game more than once.

I mean, in Diablo II, after you've made your way through an act with a character you usually never went through it again with that same character. People just ran to the boss killed him/her, and moved on to the next act.

I mean some areas you never re visit and completely forget about after some time.

But if Randomly Generated Scripted Events had a higher chance of dropping good items than bosses do, people will actually start re visiting the whole game looking for those scripted events.

This will help decrease the number of "Boss xyz runs ##"

Depends on how Horadrim or rather mage society in general works. As the son of your father who is a member, you can also be called a member, you know kind of like a clan. Although technically the Horadrim is an alliance of many clans.
since its an alliance of many Clans I'd imagine that people wheren't born a Horadrim but rather passed certain criteria to be called Horadrim. After all they where charged with taking care of the prime evils, I don't think they'd let anyone just join.

But after they disbanded, wouldn't it make sense that the members returned to their original clans (I know some of these clans still exist in sanctuary). So how did their bloodlines just vanish?
where they so scarred from the journey that they didn't want anything to do with humanly pleasures anymore?
where they some how affected by the battle (cursed or something) so that they couldn't have kids even if they tried?
but that would mean Jared (if indeed he is Dekard's great great grandfather) had impregnated a woman before he went on his journey.

 this is so complex and useless to the storyline that I doubt even Blizzard has any real info on Dekard's ancestors yet and why the Horadrim clan just died out.

Unless of course it was as some one previously mentioned, and Dekard was born before they Disbanded.

posted a message on Don't update your Graphics Card just yet!
A friend wants to get a new Laptop and must do so in the near future. He wants to make sure that his laptop can play Diablo III.

With his budget he narrowed his choices down to 2 laptops.

    1: 512 MB dedicated graphics
    2.0 GHz
    3 GB memory
    240 GB hard drive
    windows Vista
    13.3" screen.

    2. 256 Shared graphics
    3GB memory
    2.2 GHz
    Windows Vista
    13.3" screen.

Which one do you guys think is more suitable? o and the shared one says up to 1GB when I checked the Graphics card (but I have no clue what that means )

ehh he's actually the last living descendant of the Horadrim
    Quote from Tyrael »
Long ago, I swore an oath to watch over the Horadrim and their descendants.

As Deckard Cain is the last of their esteemed Order, I will not allow him to perish here so far from the lands of his birth.

Be at ease, hero, I know that he is your friend. He shall come to no harm.

or does this mean that he's the last living member??

If they make the skill respecing something that can be done whenever you want to and infinitely (like the eastern sun mod for Diablo II) it would solve all the problems OP but that would kill the game at the same time imo and kill replayability.

Anyways I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and trust Blizzard on this one.

posted a message on Top 10 Monster Comebacks in Diablo III
while this was an ok read, I feel that the author of this piece will be greatly disappointed in Diablo III.

The reason I say this is because he expects too much of them. For almost every monster on his list there was a "since its been 20 years, they better have evolved into some badass monsters who can whoop your ass instantly"
... we all know that's not how it'll work in Diablo III, I think it was Jay who mentioned that Normal mode can be beat by spamming one skill the whole way through so...

posted a message on Cain is over 350 years old
    Yup.
According to the newly released Timeline Cain was first mentioned on the year 912, where he leads a bank of monk Horadrim to capture Diablo's soul in a soul stone.
And since he's the one who led them, he must have been pretty damned experienced and well versed in his art. But for the sake of this post I will assume that he was around 25 at the time

Now we defeated Baal in Diablo II at 1265 (353 years later) and Cain was with us through the whole thing and at the end was about 378 years old.

now.... 20 years later he is back and this time he's 398 at least!!!

I think that's pretty cool although I definitely would want to die before I hit the 100 year old mark.

But then again years could be completely different in Sanctuary, so that might not be half as old as it sounds.

I don't care what you 'heard', I've been playing on the realms since D2 came out and that stuff doesn't happen. You can't get hacked unless you downloaded some shit yourself. What you are saying are blatant lies.

As for making things drop anywhere as you said it... Duh everyone would be doing it if it were possible. In closed B.Net you get a permanent ban for any packet-sending attempt.
these are some of the few hacks on battle.net:

    Quote from "Shisou" »
Well he can always buy some more once the stocks have gone down again and then sell after release.
I'm expecting there will be a release date for WotLK mentioned in Blizzcon, and if I'm right and its only a couple of months after blizzcon then I dont expect the stock's price to drop.
Not to mention that the blizzard stock hasn't gone down since last year, its a very stable stock and if its not on the rise, its relatively stable.

the stock that blizzard trades under (ATVI on Nasdaq) has gone up since last year and has nearly doubled. Any little dips that the stock takes don't even last for a month (usually passes in 2 weeks or so) and they always make a pretty good comeback.

imo, anyone planing to buy the stocks should buy within the next couple of weeks, and hold on to the stocks for at least a couple of years, or until Diablo III is released. the stocks should have easily doubled in value by then, if not more.

If anything, wait another week so the Diablo 3 hype has died down even more with a lack of news. Buy just before the WotLK Public Test Realms open, because people are going to get excited about that. Sell the second day of BlizzCon after the biggest announcements are already made.
he could do that but he'll hardly make as much money as he would if he where to hold on to them for a couple of years until Diablo III is released.
