Surprise! Jay Wilson may have slipped somehow that a Diablo 3 expansion might follow after the release of Diablo 3, and the Necromancer class might return in the expansion. It is not set in stone, but it is a fair hope that the Necromancer or previous classes may be brought back. Read the full article at MTV Multiplayer
... for those who are really passionate about the Necromancer, there’s still hope to see the class in a “Diablo III” expansion. In fact, Wilson thought that expansions might be a great place to bring back any of the old classes not included, particularly since the team itself had passionate debates on the topic — almost as much as the game’s art direction.
Almost every paladin build was imba, and I loved every minute of it. Lets hope they bring the pally back, and keep his imba status.
Blessed Hammers is what was wrong with them...They dominated CS and it was no fun havin the hammerdins kill everything while everyone leeches...Get rid of Blessed Hammer then you can keep them.
At least the paladin looked interested in what he was running to, the necro looks bored like he doesn't even want to be in the game hahaha:necro: Plus all he was good for was lagging the game.
He was bored. He was already waiting for D3. Now he has to wait longer for the expansion...:necro:
dont get me wrong my fav character were the necro and the druid in D2 but i dont want any of them to come back.. something fresh is always better! i like the way they think right now ..
hope they dont fck it all up by bringing to much old classes in the exp.. or in D3(tough by what ive seen theyre not doin it wich is a good thing)
He may never make it with all the lag he causes.:D
At the beggining of D3 development blizzard tought of making 5 new classes. Irvine changed that a little, bringing the barbarian back to Diablo.
The game will have just 5 classes, 2 old classes is too much in my opinion and the Witch Doctor is already a summoner, i think its not balanced.
What I spect is:
-Barbarian
-Witch Doctor
-Some kind of sorceress/mage
-A high defense class (like paladins in d2)
-????? (a ranged class maybe)
One think that is weird is that MANY people complained about the Witch Doctor beeing the "new necro", maybe this news said that about necros just to create rumors (i hope :)).
I really dont want any returning class (i love paladins but i dont want them in D3 tough).
World of Diablo you mean
also they could not have an expansion if they cancel the game
WC: Adventures became WoW
SC: Ghost became WoS
Diablo 3 becomes WoD?
Reapers for the win XD
That's exactly the same thing as in D2. You need to make more mix up, here's a quick example:
Barbarian: Melee fighter + magic combat skills (like stun, ancient hammer, furious charge, etc.)
Witch Doctor: Druid (Summons + fire) + Necromancer (Curses and poison)
Pure Mage with magical traps and some buffs (like enchant/mana shield but more innovative)
Ranger + Paladin (I have a feeling for some Greek influences here)
Reaper: Assassin (shadow + combat skills) + Paladin (offensive auras) + Necromancer (Bone)
Witch Doctor will replace the necro.
end of story.
We'll see some new things and maybe new classes in the expension, but it won't be the necro for sure.
Yes it is my opinion and technically it is news, especially in a slow news week. Some news is better than no news but to get excited about something like this when the game isn't even close to being released is an exercise in futility. I am surprised mention of anything about an expansion by someone associated with Blizzard was even allowed. They are normally very tight lipped about these matters.
Sorry if I struck a nerve on you there mate about your reporting of the news. Your reporting procedures were never in question. That fact that you brought it up is just appears to be a defense of insecurities.
Has Blizzard even read their own books? The Barb (Bul-Kathos) and the Necros (Rathma) are pretty darned integral to the story.
It's like they called a meeting to see how far they can push the game away from the Diablo feel. Newsflash, D1 and D2 didn't suck. Might be a good formula to base your game on.
I have reluctantly agreed to a lot of the changes but I have to say, this should've been in the initial release. Glad to hear we MAY get the Necro in an expansion, then we MAY have a worthy D3.
a class that runs around and identifies items on the ground while the others kill things
I do hope blizzard adds rainbow facets to d3 though
I want to cast level 30 aoe skills when I die in pvp :-(
One other info that i saw in diii.net is about the number of players in D3. In the MTV Multiplayer website (http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2008/08/04/diablo-iii-designer-turns-tables/) we can see a interview of Jay Wilson and he said the following phrase: "You’ve got to think that there’s potentially up to seven other people in addition to yourself (...)".
So I guess the number of players will continue the same....
Its true or rumor?
