I'm watching the guys streaming inferno, since everyone is undergeared the wizard is the only viable dps... barbs are only good for tanking and even in that they are doing a piss poor job.

Diablo is about loot, trades and pvp, that being said i will wait to hit inferno and for pvp (God knows when)

My first impression of the game is: Not bad, but not good either, i understand some people are disappointed and the only reason i'm not one of them is because i wasn't expecting a lot to begin with.

posted a message on Diablo III PvP Update - PvP Arena System Postponed
    Quote from ecutruin

I haven't read every post of this thread, but I think one thing needs to be made clear. Blizzard stated specifically that PvP was not the focus of Diablo 3. In fact, they've specifically stated that balanced PvP won't likely exist at all in favor of more balanced and fun PvE. This move makes perfect sense considering that stance.

The PvP system hasn't likely been a development focus at all as of yet. They weren't able to get something together that they feel comfortable with during the crunch, so they decided to ship without it. Seems perfectly valid considering they don't intend on focusing on PvP anyways.

People all disappointed over this news really doesn't make sense to me. PvP in Diablo 3 isn't likely going to be heavily competitive at all. Its going to be something to burn off steam when you don't feel like bashing in the heads of more monsters.

Personally, I'm glad to hear that they've decided to ship without instead of dumping more time into a PvP system that isn't the focus of the game anyways.

You're missing the point, Blizzard is widely know for delivering top notch FINISHED products, but, since WoW, the quality of Blizzard games hugely dropped.

You really think it's normal for a game that has been under development for 6+ years to not have one of its core features by release? No, it's not normal, Blizzard know it's not normal but they are pushing a release anyway because D3 is taking way too fucking long, even for Blizzard standards.

The very same thing happened to Starcraft 2, chat channels were implemented 7 months after release, and clan support is estimated to be implemented in HotS, 2 years after release, all of them were promissed by Blizzard in a ''soon after release patch'', which didn't happened, to be honest, i wouldn't be surprised if we see pvp only in a D3 expansion.

About PvP not being competitive, Noob Wilson opinion on this is irrelevant, it's not his decision to make. If PVP gets popular, and dailys start to pop here and there, and tournaments like MLG, ESL, IEM start to support it, then it's blizzard loss. Most of the games we call ''esports'' weren't intended to be an esport in the first place, it's the community who makes the call if a game can be competitive or not.

Delaying PVP in a diablo game is UNACCEPTABLE, Blizzard had 6+ years to develop the game and they can't even deliver the full product (i don't care what Noob Wilson says, pvp IS one of the core aspects of the Diablo franchise).

I won't even say it is ridiculous, this just shows Blizzard massive incompetence on the development of the game(they had PLENTY of time), but seeing what blizz is doing with their other games is not surprising at all(battle.net 2.0, SC2 marketplace, cataclysm, mists of pandaria).

Oh, and just an additional piece of information, Blizzard said it would add clan support for SC2 on a patch after release, 2 years later and we are still waiting for that patch.

I make about 75k a year and I wouldn't be able to afford what it costs here.
wtf? you just contradicted yourself? or did i just miss the joke?

i think it might be a mistake on his part or something or a typo w/e.. :dead:

What you guys talking about? He is perfectly clear, where he lives(out of US, prob) a nissanZ goes for a lot more than 40k, so much more that even earning 75k a year, he can't afford it.

Its the same for me, here in Brazil a 370Z goes for about R$350k, which is about $190k US, its ridiculous.

posted a message on What WoW weapons/armor would you like to see in Diablo 3?
    Quote from Patraquashe

    Quote from Nemain_Kargath

There are several Diablo references in WoW, like a weapon called "Wirt's Third Leg" the Mini-Diablo pet, "Cow King's Hide" and Tyrael pet. What WoW items and references would you like to see in Diablo 3, mood and tone appropriate of course.

I'll start. I'd love to see the following weapons :

    "Arcanite Reaper"
    "Gorehowl"

    None.

Why? Because WoW was inspired by Diablo (being their trademark RPG), not the other way around.

What lore would explain the existence of such items? Thrall suddenly walking into Harrogath out of nowhere and dropping his hammer?

It just doesn't make any sense. The Diablo inspired items that exist in WoW are purely there for fun and as easter eggs, same goes for the pets. They are bragging rights and things Blizzard create to make more money.

I do agree with you, i would hate to see anything wow related in D3, but that same argument can be used for WoW, i mean, what lore can explain wirts third leg being in WoW?

Any items that eventually make it into D3 would be there just for fun/easter eggs aswell. And since Blizzard is also aiming for wow crowd, i'd say theres a fair chance some items make it into the game.

posted a message on inferno mode, end-game or filler? (att. Sixen)
    Quote from Kildeer888

I'll probably get flamed for this, but in my opinion Inferno shouldn't drop any gear. You should make do with the gear you got from Hell and there should be several achievements throughout Inferno so other people could see how far you've come with a certain character through Inferno so there's some prestige to it.

Maybe Inferno could drop gems and runes and all that, but no armor, weapons, etc.

I doubt Blizz will make it like this though.

Who gives a damn about achievements? The only reward Diablo has is loot, thats why people play the game, its not about the story(no, you didn't killed baal 1249189051252 times because the lore is so rich), its not about the shiny graphics, its not about the challenge, its loot.

Whats the point of playing a much harder version of the game if we are not being rewarded for it?

posted a message on D3 Hell difficulty Vs. D2 Hell Difficulty and how Inferno helps to speculate.
    Quote from Uldyssian

Why make a 4th difficulty if it's not even as hard as the games previous third? Ughhh.... this type of speculation makes me nerd rage from the lack of inferring power that can be displayed. Like.. really? Even on the basic level of math the thought that D2 hell would be harder then D3 inferno doesn't make sense. And lets not think of lvl 99 being anything but on par with D3 lvl 60. Level numbers are fairly arbitrary as the designer could span the xp between 1000lvls or 43 if they chose to. my two cents.

It's not entirely improbable, Diablo is a casual game, and Blizzard has said many, many times that you can play alone through all the content, you can solo the game if you want to, which means inferno won't be this impossible feat that a many are thinking.

I do believe inferno will be harder than D2 hell, but it will not be that harder.

posted a message on D3 vs Skyrim 4 game of the year
    Quote from Wingless

Well, it all depends on how good these games actually are. If D3 is too repetitive etc.
But if both are executed perfectly, I'd say D3. Skyrim isn't breaking new ground and it has all been seen before. D3 on the other hand is trying things that has never been done before.

Same gameplay and random loot fest, the only drastically different feature in D3 are AH. Anyway, not being ''revolutionary'' doesn't mean its bad, if its not broken don't fix it.

Skyrim is the big favorite for game of the year, thats a fact. Actually, the best thing Blizzard could do is NOT release D3 this year, so many big titles coming out..
