Yeah, I think that leeching is inevitable in the kind of environment that the Diablo games reside in. The fact that people will actually have to be within a certain range is at least a plus, but I don't think there is going to be anyway to rid it completely. I guess the moral here might be don't play with people you don't know?
My biggest concern is people rushing and screwing up the economy making good rare items useless. But since we have no idea how the economy of the game will work I can't really comment on any of that. Also we have no idea what features B Net 2.0 will have in it; which could play towards having more control of things like leeching, etc.

Jul 1, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Blizzard Reveals Patch 1.13's DelayerGood to know what if going on...even if there was a bit of a delay. I'm sure someone on these forums has to know how they do beta testing? Or hey, maybe a post on the bnet forums would solidify an answer.Posted in: News

Jun 11, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Bashiok on "Barbarian Fury" and "Gore" in Diablo 3I think it will be interesting to see how things develop for the fury system. I'm sure the hardest part for them will probably be balance. As far as the gore goes; well like Bashiok said, we haven't seen anything yet....which I'm sure is two fold concerning the gameplay and the game and graphics/levels/monsters what have you themselves. Why can't august be here already....Posted in: News

Jun 3, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Bashiok on Rune Swapping. This is a great idea and I'm glad they are at least making it so it is not free for all. Maybe it will be like removing socketed items was in D2. Either way I think it's a solid idea and I'm curious to see what thing (or things) will allow you to change runes when you level higher. I also like the idea of super rare runes, though I think they were mentioned before. And to answer you Kovault I think they said there will not be rune words.Posted in: News

May 25, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Blizzard's Writing Contest- We Have Winners, Folks!I might be being cynical here; but looks to me by the titles that most if not all of the winning and honorable mention stories are about Warcraft. I'm not one of the WoW haters either, but I dunno, just reading the titles lead me to believe that they are in that universe. Nothing wrong with that, maybe one sided, but it would be nice if at least one is a Diablo story. Some statistics would be nice like x% were Diablo and x% were Warcraft and x% were Starcraft.Posted in: News

May 11, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Bashiok on "Skill Trees" in Diablo 3.Sounds great to me...like they are letting us build the way we want to instead of forcing us to choose one tree. As far as other issues such as say all players having all the same skills; well he did say that they are still heavily working on it. So, I'm sure they will fix that issue in the process.Posted in: News

I get what you're saying; I think that's a good idea. Would make players have to use different skills to beat the bosses, making us have to adapt and think on our feet.
Even better, I think bosses should be different for each difficulty. The harder the difficulty the more complex the boss....if that's even possible for them to do.
As far as bosses go my guess would be
Act1 Mistress of Pain
Act2 Belial
Act3 Azmodan
Act4 Big D
I could also see the others you mentioned as minor bosses or even special hidden bosses (which I personally think would be awesome).
I imagine Imperius is going to appear in the story line since Tyrael is going to be a main focus of the story. I don't think we will fight him though, my guess is he will be saved for the expansion. From the books he is just too damn powerful to be randomly thrown in with D on top of it; I don't think it would do justice. He needs his own game and own storyline.

And those are the two we also have the most complete skill trees for. We have remotely no idea what other skills the monk or witch doctor is going to have. On top of that the fifth class has not even been announced.
Plus they have already hinted multiple times that we will get an expansion and more than likely have returning classes, like the necro.

Yeah, it's old, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to see where the game came from and just have different NPCs and atmosphere and all that. It's so different from D2, it's almost like it's own game (which I'm sure D3 will also be).

I bought WC3 and it came with a trial disk and also some friends started playing it. I thought, what the hell if 10 million people play it it has to be good. Now here I am a level 65 human warlock, starting Burning Crusade and going to buy Wrath of the Lich King. I can't believe how much people hate it on here, it's honestly one of the best games I've ever played.
Anyways Nektu, if you listen to the advice of all of these guys that's pretty much all you have to do; quests and level. If you are considering getting the full version, I would also recommend saving materials to sell at the auction house since that will help build up a nice gold base for you.
I would also recommend the official site http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/index.xml if you are wondering what types of builds you want or just general info. You can respec too, so no worries. WoW Wiki is also really good for if you get stuck on quests http://www.wowwiki.com/Portal:Main and WoW head is basically a database of items and where to get them http://www.wowhead.com/
Honestly, you don't need to give away your life either to play. I play maybe two three times a week, sometimes only for a few hours. I play with friends here and there, but mostly play on my own. I've thought about joining a guild but I'm unsure. My warlock is Dsquared, by the way. Thinking of doing a hunter next.

Yeah, that would also make sense too

Therefore by the Wizard altering reality and corrupting; power builds more and more. This makes the most logical sense to me.
