Aug 17, 2011DSquared82 posted a message on Inferno RevealedAwesome, glad that they are putting something sizable for end game content...I always felt D2 was lacking in that area. Great idea to have those items specific to Inferno only; except that people can just buy them off the AH, though I imagine they are going to be ultra rare.Posted in: News

Apr 30, 2011DSquared82 posted a message on Clarification on BoE Removal and Set ItemsNice read guys, some very good info. Super happy to hear how they are going to handle items, sounds awesome that they will add new stuff every patch..very nice. It sounds to me like there will just be a ton more to do in D3 compared to D2. Also I was wondering if some of the stuff they have yet to announce might be other systems for items, like gambling. I think it would be cool if they had items that you could only get thorough gambling.Posted in: News

Aug 24, 2010DSquared82 posted a message on Get Ready for Blizzcon, DiabloFans!Awesome! I knew this years Blizzcon was going to be ours, with SC2 out and Cataclysm on the way all that they have left to talk about is Diablo...besides the new franchise they are working on. I'm expecting a release timeline (ie summer/fall 2011), fifth class and a ton of new info.Posted in: News

Aug 18, 2010DSquared82 posted a message on Crafting Through ArtisansWas waiting all day to see what the news was as I was busy and it's awesome. I'm totally happy with the way theyPosted in: News
are going about things. I love the idea of the artisan being upgradable, items still being somewhat random, having special abilities like being able to socket stuff is totally awesome. Salvaging system is also a great idea and takes away a system like WoW where you have to hold onto lots of different materials and spend a ton of time getting your skill level up. The more I see and read the more I can't wait for Blizzcon, I have a feeling it is going to be all Diablo this year. Also, thanks diablofans newsteam for the awesome in depth coverage. Will have to read all the Q&A stuff tomorrow. -
Jul 22, 2010DSquared82 posted a message on Focus on Customizable ArmorsI guess right now we can only really speculate. I would hope that there isn't a "one best item" for particular build. I think with rune additions and whatever other crazy systems they have cooked up, weapon use might be able to vary more and be more open. I guess it will also depend on what mods that armor and weapons bring.Posted in: News
Anyways love Ophions idea of flaming gear. I think elemental effects will look sweet. Also very curious to see what the "animal armor" will look like and how it will function. -
Jul 19, 2010DSquared82 posted a message on How Soon is Soon™Nice article and nice catch by Dauroth, didn't even make that connection. I'm betting on a 2011 release and loads of info at Blizzcon. Like you said there are two whole systems they have yet to talk about. Blizzcon can't come soon enough.Posted in: News
When will then be now? -

Jun 15, 2010DSquared82 posted a message on Get Psyched for BlizzCon 2010!Here's to hoping it flies by, it's been so long since we've heard anything. According to recent stuff Bashiok has said it sounds like there is a ton of stuff (especially gameplay mechanics) that they have yet to reveal. Like you said I can easily see this being Diablo's year for info.Posted in: News

Medieval Dragon? I agree any announcement would probably be at Gamescom. I don't see why they would be flying out someone as well known as Quin for no reason. Remember the old days before D3 was even announced? All the rumors, so many rumors ha ha. I remember I sent a scan in of my PCGamer hinting at Diablo 3 in the next issue that year. Good times.
I've heard mention of other streamers, but no one as far as I know has ever said anyone but Quin. Any idea whom else? That link you posted gives me a 404.
My two cents, they are already done with the expansion, that is why so many have left including Leonard. Diablo 3 will be all wrapped up. In my opinion the new game director position is for the next installment. I have a feeling expansion announced at Gamescom, announcement of working on Diablo 4 or maybe even cinematics at Blizzcon.

Only my opinion as well no hard feelings at all. Anyways I think for sure at the very least something will come from Gamescom even if it's just a little peek at what's in store.
I'm very interested too as into why this latest upcoming patch is only minor with different numbering and why they, I think, changed the length of the season/era. Makes me speculate they are trying to line up with some internal deadline/timeline.

Ok, I'll bite. I can think of several reasons
- They have not finished the story in RoS, it's blatantly left open doesn't even have an ending cinematic. That's not like them at all, they are too polished for that.
- Adding to that, why would they spend an entirely new game devoted to events after RoS? They've said it before this is going to be wrapping up this saga in the Diablo universe
- If they are just starting a fourth game right now, do you honestly think people are going to hold out for years on just seasonal updates? Doubtful to me.
- Money, lots of money. If the options are expansion and fourth game, why only choose fourth game? That's leaving money on the table, money they know they can get from our crazy fanbase.

I haven't posted in a long time on this site, mostly lurk around, but it's fun to speculate so I thought I'd give my two cents:
I think first off the second expansion is already in the final stages and will be shown at either Gamescom with more details at Blizzcon or just at Blizzcon. They are now hiring for the next game in the series to start work on that. The expansion will conclude Diablo III and leave enough open for D4 to be bridged to. I've read people theorizing another class being released between now and the expansion, then a final class for the expansion which I think would be cool and a nice way to keep us happy until the second expansion.
I think the areas will be
Skovos - already have a bridge of it being mentioned from RoS, would make sense as a starting point for the next expansion
Ureh - since this acts as a bridge between both Heaven and Hell and it can tie into putting Leah's soul to rest. Also back during the original announcement of D3 they already had cinematics for Ureh, which leads me to believe it was already fleshed out just never put in.
Personally I think Inarius and Lilith will be a part of this storyline. The Nephalem have grown way too powerful. I could even see Imperius aligning with them since he hates the Nephalem so much. I think Tyrael will also struggle with his decision in supporting the humans/nephalem or possibly succumbing to corruption himself, after all don't forget he is human now.
