Mar 21, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on BlizzCast 8 nearly done and it's "almost entirely" about Diablo 3!Well, considering that we haven't had anything real substantial for almost 6 months (I mean large amounts of info) my personal feeling is they will give us some good stuff whenever Blizzcast 8 comes...hopefully soonish. I'm seriously re-watching Blizzcon panel sessions cause there is stuff in them that I haven't seen on youtube ones.Posted in: News

Mar 18, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on BlizzCast 8 nearly done and it's "almost entirely" about Diablo 3!Finally an almost entire Blizzcast for D3, always seemed like SC2 this and WoW that and two sentences about D3. I think it's obvious that Bashiok dropped this on purpose; I'm sure if he really wasn't allowed to mention it or there was no new info he wouldn't say anything. We certainly have gone quite a while without signifigant updates. Maybe some new levels, new monsters, new info about the gameplay or even new character; though I doubt that last one since that will probably wait for a major event.Posted in: News

Mar 14, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Blizzard Writing Contest Announced! After three plus hours; two pages of text with around 1600 words. I'm writing about three characters; a sorceress a wizard and a sorcerer...the implications of them meeting should be interesting. Man, I really miss writing it's so much fun to come up with my own stuff. Good luck all. Anzy, that guy in your vid has to be the stupidest person I have ever seen. I used to work in a railroad tower, those trains can get up to 80mph. By all rights he should be a pile of mush. Man...unbelievable how some people can tempt fate so wrecklessly.Posted in: News

Mar 14, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Blizzard Writing Contest Announced!Interesting....I've always been told that I'm a good writer...maybe I should write something for this contest; might be kind of fun. I agree, writing about a quest or item would probably be the way to go. Sounds like I might have some stiff competitionPosted in: News

Mar 3, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Tell Blizzard Your #1 Diablo II Patch Note.So many things...new content would of course be awesome; but I think I speak for most when I say get rid of the hacking and dupes. That's what totally ruined the game for me. I imagine they might do a lead in to the D3 storyline; but got to remember that it's 20 years after D2.Posted in: News
I got a good one; how bout put out the D3 Blizzcon demo instead of doing the patch!!! -

Feb 12, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Interview with Leonard Boyarsky provided by GameproPosted in: NewsQuote from "Flyarion" »I heard that he said the following sentence "I don't know if you've played other characters in the demo"
maybe I'm wrong but does that mean they have a demo?
I'm guessing he meant the Blizzcon demo; if there was a demo I'm sure everyone on here would know about it in a second. I think I've seen this video already, but that's ok it was fun to watch. As far as the pots go or globes; maybe things aren't balanced yet? I mean I'm sure that's part of the process for them. Also I was considering; the person could have been playing multiplayer hence more globes or maybe they only healed/refilled a little amount. Anyways; I'm sure it won't be that easy, plus a lot of those looked like mana globes to me. -
Jan 24, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Update On Sideshow Collectibles' Diablo 3 Overthrown Statueeh...300 is quite a bit for a statue; I could see maybe a hundred. It's hard to price art and I do consider it art even if it's for a game. Kind of makes me think that Blizz thinks their fanbase is rich or somethingPosted in: News

Jan 19, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Diablofans Launches New Community Driven Wiki.Posted in: NewsQuote from "PhrozenDragon" »It's a little bit of both actually. Who said we can't develop the most extensive diablo wiki on the net?
That's the spirit. I think this if fun; I just did a bunch of Wizard spells. Gives me something to do when I'm bored. Maybe I'll start doing the other classes now. I see LinkX's point though; this is mainly a group of forum goers it seems like. I can only speak for myself; but I enjoy giving something back to this awesome community. We all share the same passion, Diablo, so why not? -
Jan 18, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Diablofans Launches New Community Driven Wiki. Two quick questions. I'm working on getting as many of the wizard spells as I can done 1) are the number of ranks for each skill official or is that taken from the blizzcon demo only, cause I'm debating on using them if they are only what was used for the demo and 2) If they are not, should I then not include the damage for spells since that might be subject to change? I'd like to have an answer before doing too many others. In fact I'd really like to just do all the spells for all the classes; I'm having fun going through my HD video collection and finding all of the spells and getting the stats.Posted in: News

Jan 16, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Diablofans Launches New Community Driven Wiki.Wow, you guys have already put a lot of stuff in there. Was just drooling over the skill trees and imagining what build I'm going to do :). Maybe I'll have to see what I can add to it....I think I saw Wizard use the acid spell in one of the videos, maybe I could add the picture? Anyways awesome job everyone..keep it up.Posted in: News

Jan 8, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Bashiok On Diablo 3 Stat Points.Posted in: NewsQuote from "Ferret" »Yep, autostats support the point of being able to respec. Whats the point of a throwbarb respeccing to melee if he can't use the end-all axe he just found because of stats?
The WoW respec system's flaw was that people generally did not accept a class being played if it wasn't their best skilltree. Diablo on the other hand is all about laying the smackdown on things, so theres only respeccing from dealing damage to dealing damage. Autostats will let you use items that make sense to a class within reason, while respeing will let you change from doing type A damage to type B damage. A sorceress won't be able to use the highest triers of armor anymore unless Blizzard intends to have it so, but on the counter side, they can use items of magical value which other classes may not. It will distinguish character classes to play more like their class, while being versatile enough to still change the way they dish out pain.
Awesome job of summing this problem up and how good of an idea it actually is; maybe if people keep quoting you someone here will read it and the thread will die...a quick, terrible death -
Jan 7, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Bashiok On Diablo 3 Stat Points. With auto-stats you lose a small amount of customization, true, but gain a lot of freedoms in adding more - and more interesting - customization through other means.Posted in: News
We still don't know what these "other means" are....man every time they bring up something somebody has to cry about it. We barely have any idea what the gameplay elements are going to be yet...yes custom stats are gone; but something way cooler could replace that and just because they are gone doesn't mean there won't be some kind of work around or a new, better system all together. -

Second that
The only thing I did is sign up on Amazon so it tells me when it's available for pre-order; otherwise I wouldn't trust anywhere that has a date already posted. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

1) How many bosses and super uniques (for ex Blood Raven, Countess, the Smith, etc) can we expect for each act?
2) Will there be a possibility that some of these super uniques are random occurences; say popping into your path unexpectedly?
3) (I'm reading the Black Road and they just introduced this priest demon hunter, so I thought of this one) Will there be quests to hunt down specific monsters and demons, almost like a bounty?
That's all I can think of for now

I couldn't agree more.
People need to realize this game is in development meaning that they are probably going to run through a bunch of different ideas before getting one that fits their standards. I would much rather play something new and better rather than giving us the same old systems. Beside, they can always go back on things, I can swear that I saw tetris style inventory (which everyone complained about when they changed that).
Honestly, if they are going to try something new and it's going to be better and more fun I'm all for it. I've already played D2 countless times; I want something new and evolved.

Anyways lots of good solid questions. Glad to hear items will differ greatly depending on the class of the item. Also sounds really cool that character level and difficulty will determine items that drop, really makes it even more enticing to go through all difficulties and explore everything.
Man, so psyched about all the new "customization" features that they have not shown yet; I bet they will blow our socks off.

I honestly more look at this as probably a change in the look rather than the system itself. You can still have a system with skill points without using a tree layout.

This might be a bit OT but I'll answer...basically, if you've ever used e-bay an auction house is like that. Players put items into a "market" and can set a bid price and/or an "buy it now" price. Other players then buy the items for gold. When items sell the money is sent to you and the auction house takes a cut for selling. WoW uses this system and I honestly have to say it is one of my favorite things about the game.

I guess the whole point of the update was they were still figuring out whether or not they were going to have the larger stash in. I'm not one to get pissed easily, but this is ridiculous from Blizzard; they should have said nothing about the patch. Their first mistake was telling all of us about it and getting our hopes up.
