Oct 3, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Recent Updates on the Official Diablo Twitter Feed.I will admit, I am not a fan of twitter. I think a lot of my animosity towards it is the idea of every person voicing their opinion; or people (movie stars, musicians, etc) who think everyone gives a damn about every little thing they do.Posted in: News
I did sign up for this reason only though. It's actually very unintrusive and if you have firefox you can get an add-on called twitterfox and it will display the updated twitter icon in the lower right of your browser. You don't see anything unless you click on it and you also only see the updates; not every persons comment. Anyways, I figure it's not so bad and lots of new info might be released through there. -

Sep 30, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Diablo II Patch 1.13- More Delays, Hopefully a Brighter FutureAwesome...yet another delay. Why did they even bother putting up the 9/2 post? Well, I guess I agree though that I would rather have a complete working patch...hope they can still keep the expanded stash though.Posted in: News
I get it, the delay is being delayed. -
Sep 29, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on What Do YOU Want To Know About Diablo 3?What other new gameplay features are going to be in-game besides runes(like the talisman, what ever happened to that?)Posted in: News
How will they combat people just rushing the same area over and over again for items/xp? I guess what are they providing to make straight playthrough more desirable?
Will acts cross over different areas (example desert, jungle, forest in the same act) or will areas be isolated to acts (like A1 forests, A2 desert, etc)?
Is there, or will there, be penalties for death and if so what will they be?
Is there any news on mercenaries?
What types of items will merchants sell, since those in D2 really just sold useless junk? -
Sep 21, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on "The Road To Diablo III"Really good read. Even if there is no new info, nice to get an inside look into how they develop the game. It's comforting to know that they are not afraid to "push the envelope" and then have enough sense to step back when it's too much. I think, if anything, this should quell a lot of fears about art direction. I think that's awesome too that they involve all people, even those outside of the company, in the design and suggestion process. That's the type of thinking that has made Blizz the powerhouse that it is today.Posted in: News

Sep 15, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Blizzard's Next MMO Will Have "Broader Appeal".Sounds interesting. I wonder if by "more accessible" they also mean free to play? Interested to see what genre their new IP will fill. They already have the fantasy realm well covered so....Posted in: News

Sep 13, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Why Blizzard Could Soon Return to Game Consoles.Posted in: NewsQuote from "mattheo_majik" »Holy shit man, where do you live. I'm moving there NOW.
I've never heard of a (Good, Decent, Usable) PC or Laptop for under 600.
We pay more than that for a good monitor in most civilized parts of the world.
You can build a PC that can run Crysis (used as a high end benchmark most of the time) at 40 FPS. Here is the link Build A kick-ass $500 gaming PC . If you build it yourself a PC can be had pretty cheap. Plus since this article is a little old prices have probably gone down even more. -
Sep 11, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Why Blizzard Could Soon Return to Game Consoles.I honestly don't care, I had a 360 for about six months and maybe only played it a month. After I built my new computer there was no point in keeping it. All it basically is IMO is a console just trying to be a PC. Pretty much every feature that made it what it was is done on the PC and done better. Plus lots of games are multi-platform now; so many of the games on consoles are also on PC (and in many cases better on PC, but also worse if it's a bad port).Posted in: News

Sep 2, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Wiki-Wiki-Wiki! (Calling all volunteers!)Posted in: NewsQuote from "Faustuss" »This wiki is pretty much pointless. There's already been a Diablo wiki around for years. Just update that one:
http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Diablo_Wiki
This site will be considered an official fan site and will be linked from the Diablo 3 website when the game is released. Therefore probably thousands will become a part of this community and will use the Wiki. Besides no one said you had to work on it. -
Sep 1, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Wiki-Wiki-Wiki! (Calling all volunteers!)Posted in: NewsQuote from "Dauroth" »Well, if they are dependent on motion, we could make skill stages! Like, for one skill, we would have three jpegs/pics, each for one stage of that skill! That way, we could show the entire effectiveness of the skill in the Wiki!
Yeah, that's how I did them of course, but I dunno they just look "bland" for lack of a better word. Maybe I'm being too critical? -
Sep 1, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Wiki-Wiki-Wiki! (Calling all volunteers!)Added a few jpegs from gameplay videos for the monk....I dunno, they just seem hard to "read" to me since it seems all the monks skills are more dependent on motion...any comments/suggestions.Posted in: News

Sep 1, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Wiki-Wiki-Wiki! (Calling all volunteers!)I should get back on; I did like all the D3 skills I think, pictures and all. Maybe I should do the monk. Was also doing missing monster info pages for D2. I'll lend a hand; hell will give me something to do.Posted in: News

Aug 26, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on Why Jay Wilson Lets His Daughter Play Diablo 3.Very good read, thanks for that mockery. Glad to see they will be keeping in stuff as crazy as knocking a skeleton out of someone....but also good that they are wise enough to know that it can get old when over done. Also, that's awesome that he involves his family...good stuffPosted in: News

Aug 22, 2009DSquared82 posted a message on New Diablo 3 Character Class: The Monk!Posted in: NewsQuote from "TheBloody-Nine" »Also, as mentioned in the panel last night, the wizard is most likely to get a revamp (possibly even a name change), to be more like a freaking lightshow as their initial goal with her was
I think I should clarify this; the wizard is NOT getting a revamp and is NOT getting a name change. They did change her skill stone armor to look more like a light show. Instead of looking like rocks it now looks like shinning crystals. Therefore they said they might change the name of the skill now.
Red Rocks posted the panels, or you could probably find them on youtube by now, if you watch them they say in the panel. I have the live feed and I did look at our live chat and it was mistakenly put down that the Wizard will get a revamp and name change. This is not the case though. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

are going about things. I love the idea of the artisan being upgradable, items still being somewhat random, having special abilities like being able to socket stuff is totally awesome. Salvaging system is also a great idea and takes away a system like WoW where you have to hold onto lots of different materials and spend a ton of time getting your skill level up. The more I see and read the more I can't wait for Blizzcon, I have a feeling it is going to be all Diablo this year. Also, thanks diablofans newsteam for the awesome in depth coverage. Will have to read all the Q&A stuff tomorrow.

just new videos of a new environment....something, anything. Sure it won't be huge, what with Blizzcon right around the corner, but need something after this long, long period of no news.

Anyways love Ophions idea of flaming gear. I think elemental effects will look sweet. Also very curious to see what the "animal armor" will look like and how it will function.

When will then be now?

According to a post a little while back, Bashiok mentions at the top that DIII might already exceed DII in the number of monsters in Acts I and II alone. This translates to a potential for twice the number of monsters (fallen, skeletons, zombies, etc) in DIII as there are in DII. That does not include bosses or texture variants. Just by going on the Wiki there are about 74 different kinds of monsters (not including uniques and bosses), this would put things at somewhere between 150 to 200 monster types for DIII.
