posted a message on Recent Updates on the Official Diablo Twitter Feed.
I will admit, I am not a fan of twitter. I think a lot of my animosity towards it is the idea of every person voicing their opinion; or people (movie stars, musicians, etc) who think everyone gives a damn about every little thing they do.

I did sign up for this reason only though. It's actually very unintrusive and if you have firefox you can get an add-on called twitterfox and it will display the updated twitter icon in the lower right of your browser. You don't see anything unless you click on it and you also only see the updates; not every persons comment. Anyways, I figure it's not so bad and lots of new info might be released through there.

posted a message on Diablo II Patch 1.13- More Delays, Hopefully a Brighter Future
Awesome...yet another delay. Why did they even bother putting up the 9/2 post? Well, I guess I agree though that I would rather have a complete working patch...hope they can still keep the expanded stash though.

I get it, the delay is being delayed.

posted a message on What Do YOU Want To Know About Diablo 3?
What other new gameplay features are going to be in-game besides runes(like the talisman, what ever happened to that?)

How will they combat people just rushing the same area over and over again for items/xp? I guess what are they providing to make straight playthrough more desirable?

Will acts cross over different areas (example desert, jungle, forest in the same act) or will areas be isolated to acts (like A1 forests, A2 desert, etc)?

Is there, or will there, be penalties for death and if so what will they be?

Is there any news on mercenaries?

What types of items will merchants sell, since those in D2 really just sold useless junk?

posted a message on Is Diablo 3 to visually busy?

    Official Blizzard Quote:

Yeah, and that's cool. It was said I don't know how many times at this BlizzCon alone that we're always working against the issue of having too many effects that are too crazy and over the top going off at the same time. So yeah, it's always a potential problem. I just don't think our artists need to be drawn a schematic of how to fix it. They're paid professionals, they do this for a living.

Well, ok, he didn't say explicitly that they are toning things down; but they are aware of it....

posted a message on Is it me, or are D2's cinematics better than D3's ?
Hopefully everyone gets that the character intros were not the real cinematics by now. As far as the dialogue, I agree it was pretty corny and just sub par. For our sake, I hope the dialogue is better in the actual game. I can appreciate humor here and there (Horizon's urinal for ex) but too much would just make it silly. Maybe they are just having fun or just threw something quickly together. Plus, as said on here and by Bash, the graphics still have a lot of refining to go through.

As far as the actual cinematic shown during announcement; yeah was beautiful, but did it have much to say....no. Reason being though is that they obviously aren't going to give away any story. Also realize that, if I recall correctly, the cinematics at WWI were pieces of whole cinematics.

I have faith that the cinematics will be at least up to par with D2. I agree too that D2 has/had awesome cinematics; I mean come on Marius in the insane asylum, the dark wanderer at the bar, Baal at Mt Arreat gates...all of them were awesome and the tone was just right.

OT, anyone else a little put off by Metzen being all "hip"? I heard him use "roll out/up" a bunch of times. Just annoyed me, I thought can't you just talk normal or are all Blizz fans now "gangsta" lol

posted a message on I Will Be Impressed With D3 if...
Well, I already am impressed, but I guess I'd be impressed if
-It surpasses D1 and D2 as far as replayability, items, monsters, etc
-There are no best builds and enough variety in skills/items/runes to make multiple viable characters for multiple purposes
-They have tons of random world quests that are at least fun, if not meaningful
-They bring back D in a plausible way

posted a message on "The Road To Diablo III"
Really good read. Even if there is no new info, nice to get an inside look into how they develop the game. It's comforting to know that they are not afraid to "push the envelope" and then have enough sense to step back when it's too much. I think, if anything, this should quell a lot of fears about art direction. I think that's awesome too that they involve all people, even those outside of the company, in the design and suggestion process. That's the type of thinking that has made Blizz the powerhouse that it is today.

posted a message on Screamo - The facts.
Well, I can tell you emo was coined from Guy Piccotto's former band Rites of Spring (he has been in Fugazi since the 80's) and he does not acknowledge creating "emo"...he just played the type of music he wanted to and people slapped a label on it. It's similar to straight-edge which people coined from Ian McKaye's (Also a Fugazi member) band Minor Threat who had a song title of the same name. He doesn't acknowledge creating the sub genre and thinks it's pretty stupid that people took it that far. Just a little history for those interested.

Plus appealing to teenagers by making angry or depressing music is like shooting fish in a barrel. I remember when this style was just coming out back when I was in a Ska band in high school. Well, might not be when it actually started, but i remember bands who played this way and it was the first time I ever heard anything like that. Why do people have to categorize everything anyways, most bands have a range of influences and even if you break it down further most musicians have a range of influences.

    posted a message on slowdown
I check this site every friggin' day, usually multiple times a day. I don't frequent normally on the weekends since I know no news will usually come on weekends. I don't know if I'm the majority or not, but I really come on for the news and discussion here and there. I'd honestly rather stay away from most debates too as they are kind of pointless since the game is in development. I do love the community though and there are a lot of good people on here.

posted a message on Stats what are they there for .. really ?
    Quote from "mattheo_majik" »
I completely disagree. It's so much more obvious what your getting if it reads :

    +5%Dodge
    +10%Crtical

Than if you get something like this :

    +5 Dexterity
    +10 Strength

    -----------------------

If your say easy to compare by terms of generelization "yeah I got +1 to dex" then yes your right. But honestly, once your past the fact that you got +1 to dex, whats the next train of thought?

WTF is Dex doing for me......

But if they leave you guessing as to what does strength do for me apart from the obvious boost in physical strength, then I think it's utterly useless.

I was looking for a way to word how I felt about this and you captured it perfectly. On a side note...we have no possible idea what other elements they are implementing into gameplay. Just because they are getting rid of placing your own stats does not mean something better, more useful and more rewarding will not take its place. Maybe I'm confused, but won't stats just come from items anyways? So what's the difference between pressing a button in a menu to say "I want to use this item cause it boosts x stat which will increase x% of this".
