Diablo 3 Finally Passes South Korea's GRB update - Bashiok posted with some information about the status of the AH for South Korea

So, I was right, they have an auction house that uses Battle.net balance, which is separate from the gold auction house. There are some details I'm still fuzzy on because the Korea Battle.net balance works a bit differently from ours.
In any case, it won't be the currency-free option you're looking for.
It seems Diablo 3 officially has a rating for South Korea, Rated 'M'. However it seems this rating comes with the lack of a RMAH. We will keep you updated with any information. (source)

Bashiok on "Many More" Beta Invites
Bashiok replied to a user on twitter about more possible invites.
Official Blizzard Quote:
Will there be any more beta invites for diablo?
Yes. Many. this is something we know little about. Can we expect these new invites to come shortly after the writeup by Jay Wilson?
We generally don't announce beta invites beforehand, provide invite numbers, etc. It just makes people go insane. (source)
Wizard - Hydra Runed
Today we have the Wizard's Hydra spell. We had a first look at this at Blizzcon '10 but a few things have changed. Now even more so than in the past, keep in mind some of the effects and graphics are not fully working at this time. (for example, no poison cloud appears on the ground, The eleictric hydra does not fire, and so on.)
Electronic Version of Book of Cain?
In case you are stuck on pure digital media, Blizzard is looking into a digital version of the Book of Cain. While not mentioned, a narrated version by Deckard Cain would defintely add to the appeal.

Hello, is there a digital version of Book of Cain that I can buy from an online retailer?
@Diablo No, only a hardcover is available. We are exploring digital possibilities but nothing for sure yet.
Beta Screenshots
In the first screenshot, we have a Wizard who has been frozen after killing a Champion Skeleton with the frozen attribute. Then we have a Witch Doctor and his mongrels attacking a horde of Zombies after dispensing of an electrified champion. Finally, we have a Barbarian attacking a Carrion Nest in the Den of the Fallen, a random dungeon that is a nod to the Den of Evil.
excellent. now that it's okay'd for SKorea we won't have too much longer to go. they'll wait an appropriate amount of time to pretend SKorea had nothing to do with the delay then announce a release date.

It's nice to see it passed finally. Even though it wasn't causing delays it also wasn't speeding up logistics for BLizzard to have them hold off on giving an answer. Relieved that there is one less hurdle for them and also very happy that Diablo fans in South Korea can now enjoy the game with the rest of the world in the global release!

... yeah... if they announce it now you are going to scream "IT WAS KOREA" and if they dont announce it now you are too going to scream "IT WAS KOREA". You people should put your tinfoil hats on and go live in a cave where no evil aliens and evil conspiracies can get you. <_<
On a side note... we need a better translation of the announcement from Korea... that googletranslator is reaaaaaly bad with some languages. But I guess we can trust the translation for now. Oh and its good to hear that the game passed for Korea, its a pretty big market for Blizzard... not that they need the money... but the more (Fans) the merrier isnt it
we had someone who can read it confirm it in one of the forum posts =) But yeah I would love a real translation, going to update the post if dualshockers makes a post.
In terms of the vocal minority's belief that this was all related to the South Korean issue, this will be a lose for Blizzard because if they announce a date next week or two months from now, all the people were so convinced of their little conspiracy theory are going to say, "See, we're right!!!!"
Oh, well. It's nice to see part of this thing ending.
Well, at this point it's clear they are messing with the game. Last year they slipped up and admitted they had been given more time to work on game systems because of the korean delay. So now that they've been screwing with runes and everything else they actually do have to put it back together again. So you could honestly blame the current delay on them reiterating a reiterated reiteration.
Either way it's definitely good news and I'm glad we can move forward.

That's the point of iteration. Reitarate means to repeat the same action many times. People say it like it's something bad but it's how Blizzard makes games.. it's been working well so far imho.
But yeah, good news nonetheless. Now as someone said above we'll either get a release date soon with all the conspiracy kids going "I was right it was Korea!" or we get nothing for a while and the same people will go "It's still Korea but now they are pretending like it wasn't!"
This is good news and probably the best we can expect from Korea at present, but the hurdle also certainly isn't completely cleared. They can't release the same game in Korea as they do everywhere else (hence a true global launch that's planned) if they can't implement the RMAH in Korea. I certainly don't see how Blizzard can release the game without the RMAH in Korea and claim that the issue didn't affect release at all. After all, it would certainly take time to figure out how to do this properly and be able implement the RMAH in Korea at a future date if that opportunity presents itself. Considering the plan is for the game to be region free, I think this presents more problems than can be solved by simply leaving the RMAH out of the copies sold in Korea and patching it back in if/when the GRB approves it. I don't mean to throw a wet blanket over this news, but I'd like to hear someone answer the tough questions about this topic from Blizzard with some straightforward answers before I start celebrating and call this a dead issue. Can/will Blizzard release the game globally as planned without the RMAH in Korea? Is more development time required in order to accomplish this if the game is to be released without the RMAH in Korea? If so, how much? If you plan to release the game in Korea without the RMAH, how exactly do you plan to do it software-wise? Will Korean users be able to access the RMAH if they play in other regions? Will players from other regions be able to access the RMAH if they play in Korea? I could go on but you get the idea. None of this was part of Blizzard's plan all along.

They never said anything of the sort.
D3 passing SK is nice, but really it doesn't affect us or the game. It's been little more than a sideshow that many made it out to be more than it is. But it has been an amusing nonetheless.

OT Great news, one step closer to release. Looking forward to rune system and item updates!
really people still on the korea being the hold up for the games release... well im glad to see that they took care of it and that they are doing more beta invites which means they are starting to up the server amount and testing it to make sure it can stay stable, looks like things are heading in the right direction
I do find it amusing how many think korea has anything to do with the game being delayed. they obviously haven't played beta. Server's are not optimally stable, the client is buggy and unoptimized. then again there are those that are aware of how "beta" quality it is and say it's on purpose to hide korea delays, wtf? What utter nonsense.
and now it begins. Any progress suddenly seen, including next week's article will be considered "proof" that SK was the real issue, and any delays we see are considered "artificial to discredit the conspiricy theories.".
Myself, I honestly believed SK was the issue holding the game back, and if we get a release date by next week, then i think for me that would be proof enough. Beyond that, I'll admit the SK theory was wrong and instead its just blizzard being blizzard and delaying the living daylights out of their games, or "business as usual".

I pretty much except the beta client to be a very outdated build, in regards to the code branch they have in development at the current date.
that said, it is blizzard, so I expect a laggy release nevertheless ^^
what? wotlk, cata, and sc2... none were a laggy release o.0;
are you comparing this to an MMO expansion..where the first time they test it on a live server..is the same time everyone else does? this is a new game, they will be able to test the live servers before we own the game o.0;
Yay grats for blizz =) Sucks that atm there won't be a rmah in sk for those guys, but hell at least you get to play the game =P Cmoooon good news next week
I wonder if they put Arcane Enchanted Hydras in the beta to test Wizard Hydra skill.
I still hope Arcane Enchanted monsters could trigger either animations.
Knowing the type of damage but not which way you are going to be attacked could add to the fun, imo.
