Our caring member TheLordOfTerror shared with us the great news that players won't have to buy the expansion in order to get the game system changes like the new Paragon system for example. Here is the info:

Don't know why people are going to complain about gear becoming obsolete.
1.) Current gear is shit isn't that what we've been complaining about?
2.) Lol if you thought any itemization changes would be retroactive. You'd be salvaging that bullshit anyways.
3.) Level cap increase - perfect way to put the shitty itemization behind us - your gear will just suck until 60.
Are you sure about 70 cap? No one say about it as far i know.
This is what they are saying however I'm a little skeptical on this as well, I'm sure we will know for sure shortly. However I still stand with my argument as to people shouldn't complain about their gear becoming brimstones. It was inevitable.

Is it too much to hope either they'll just obliterate the Auction House or make a new mode called Casual to replace the current normal and create a new option between Hardcore and Casual where you don't lose your character forever when they die but you have no auction house access whatsoever? Just after playing through all classes to 60 it was hard not to reflect on the fact that the game had lost that thrill from the original and D2 where you'd get some new drop and be thrilled. Instead it all became about gear that you could sell and gear that you could salvage and basically nothing that ever dropped held a candle to what you could pick up cheap in the Auction House.
Either that or implement the system that you can't sell anything you equip. That would also help. Please tell me Blizzard is doing something about it, it really ruined the game on many levels.
If the loot-runs include a floor system where as u clear 1 dungeon to move up or down a floor to the next as u move through they increase in difficulty/drop rates and if you die you get dropped back down to floor 1 then i'll be happy. Also if there more than just random maps like I don't wanna just farm monsters again, I want things like turning a corner and suddenly the butcher + Diablo are standing there. That would just be awesome some actual rng stuff.
