If you look at the post's tags at the D3 site, it says, "PvP, Jay Wilson, Sign of Release". So hopefully we get an announcement on Monday with about a month in between.
ROFL, it does actually say that!
I wonder if Blizzard is purposefully trolling all the people who spam "SIGN OF RELEASE?!" after new news or if it was just concidental.
my money is on trolling thats what they do best

I can see what you see not. Vision milky, then eyes rot.
When you turn, they will be gone. Whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be. Shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind. Cast down into the Halls of the Blind
This is turning out to be the worst Blizzard launch ever. It's actually really sad how many systems were cut simply because "we feel we couldn't get the game out in time with these features in" I mean comeon they might as well wait because really we're not even getting anything new. I'm seriously becoming disappointed in this release. In 08-10 it really looked good, had a nice flow, all these cool features, and lately they chucked half of the entire game just to "get it out in time" While I agree they need some time restraints, they should completely chuck the newly developed ideas just because they have a time restraint. It just should never come to this. Especially with 7 years of development behind this game.

Not even Death will save you from Diablo Bunny's Cuteness!
D3 has clearly suffered from feature creep, and an awfully long time in research; all for the better of course. Quite happy it's happening, but then I don't care for PvP one bit. I bet Force and crew are quite sad though =p
PvP continued to feel slapped on, I'm not surprised it came down to this. Hopefully this temporary sacrifice will get us the game, heck just the freakin' announcement double time.
I find this really disappointing... but on the other hand, somehow, I think they made the right decision.
I'm not saying this because I want to play the game ASAP (though I do); I think that, since PvP really seemed lacking, and that since it's probably the biggest part of D3 that is holding up things, it isn't right to push back the release date since a lot of people won't even play PvP.
I can't speak for everyone, but for me, PvP becomes interesting at the very end of the game when you want to take a break from gear hunting. That happened in both D2 and WoW, and if it's going to take a while to play through all the acts and difficulties, and experience each character, PvP Arenas will be out in a patch by that time.
It's really disappointing that they cut yet another feature, especially a feature that draws a large portion of players (as a lot of people suspected they would, whether jokingly or seriously), but I think I'm okay with their decision. If the PvP system is pretty done, just not as done as they feel appropriate for release, giving them extra time on that while we dive into PvE and everything sounds like a good idea to me. Let's hope they really make it up to us with some crazy PvP implementations later.
I agree that it's for the better. The game has been in development for years already, so why delay it again because you are experiencing a hang-up in one area when everything else is pretty much done?
It'll give players time to get some experience with their class(es) before attempting PvP anyway.
Mad or happy? Most people will play the pve part first anyways. What are you gonna go in with a level 1? come on, think about it.
So true, by the time we get to our higher level's pvp should (hopefully) be ready!
... Simply put, this will NOT be the case. I would bet Lance Armstrong's remaining nut that someone will hit level 60 in the first 3 days of this game hitting shelve (if not much sooner). Are you telling me that they are going to implement the entire pvp system in a matter of a few days? No. It will be, at least, a month or two after release, before we get to experience the PvP system--if it were any sooner, the devs would simply just push the game back a few weeks and call it good. It's clear that they are very unpleased with the current state of their PvP system, and I, for one, am bothered by this. They have been developing this game for AGES.
I'm not going to be a big PvPer [never have been], but I find it laughable that many of you guys are 'excited' about this news. Will the game be out sooner because this? Sure. Will the product be nearly as good without PvP? No. I understand it sucks waiting, but releasing a game without all it's major system intact seems like patchwork.
But hey, whatever pleases the masses!

Well this is strictly your opinion that the game wont be better without pvp in it. People like me who have 0 interest in playing the pvp system feel that not having pvp in at launch doesnt effect the game one bit.

well you know they are working on it as we speak, it just wont make it in. Im sure we will get it rather fast (within a month id say). And yeah im sure some will sit and get to 60 in a few days, but most wont.
Meh, PvP didn't really bother me, hadn't even thought about PvP since they first announced it, so I don't care. At least they're trying to get the game out and that pleases me!

Let me get this straight. Since you don't PvP you don't mind this delay one bit? If it doesn't effect or matter to you, then why bother caring? That's fine as a player, but as a developer, you realize how terrible of an approach this is? What a naive myopic point of view that is. "If it doesn't effect me, then why should I care?". The
Remember, I don't care to really play PvP until I have played PvE until my eyes fall out, but the point is, a lot of people do. And to simply say, oh well it won't matter to me, doesn't cut it. Blizzard just told those people who were really looking forward to PvP(no matter how few people it is), "Sorry, we couldn't get out Sh!t together in time, so we are just going to release the game without the system to say we released it" ... sorry guys, this is lame.

I don't care about pvp too much, and I care even less about low level pvp =)
I do care about speeding up the release date!

Counting down days till release announcement.
