He mentioned in the blog that all they had done were some early concepts and a prototype 3D engine
I tried but the whole blog wasn't able to load up, interesting to see how it would have neded up. But like others said games have evolved since then and there is no way to tell if it was better or worse.
The first part of his blog doesn't shock me as much as the part that was left out-
Mike Huang: One of the reasons why the Barbarian return shocks me so much is that I always felt that the Barbarian character class was the most broken of the classes in Diablo II. The Barbarian's ability to Leap, for instance gave him advantage over other classes which had to walk around the barrier
This is where his argument turns from fair criticism to almost cynicism. If leap made the Barbarian the "most broken class" of Diablo 2, then what did teleport make the sorceress? He is just making a criticism for the sake of making criticism. It seems very unprofessional and almost passive aggressively spiteful.

Why can't a heterosexual guy tell a heterosexual guy that he thinks his booty is fly?
Diii.net: Any bittersweet feelings, now that another design team (no matter how talented) is moving forward with your baby?
Ben Boos: Yes, I feel MANY emotions some bitter and some sweet, but that is mostly my nostalgia at work, not any sort of resentment for the good people now making this game. Besides, I still have good friends who are working on it. But, I do sometimes wish all my old friends were still at it, like I remember from the pleasant days gone by. I cant help but want to freeze time a bit, and have all those good people together, at work on something wonderful. But life doesnt work like that, and thats why the memories are all the more poignant.
Before I go, Id like to say this: To those who once poured their hearts into this series, I salute you for paving the way! To those who are now bearing the torch, I wish you all the luck in the world -- and Godspeed! It looks amazing so far!
OMG really? Have u already played the game?!? I want too so I can tell my opinion about the game..
Seriously idiot.
You don't have to play the game to form the opinion that the original creators the game franchise would be better off making the next installment than a different Blizzard team.
Seriously idiot.

Long, long time Diablo fan; short, short time with DiabloFans. USEast D2 Ladder/1.13 Beta: Accnt = ChezPizmo USEast WCIII Ladder: Accnt = TeeheeSprinkles A cool, unrelated video; "Dude Bids 420 on Price is Right" ("420, Bob") "I'm nasty, I'm old and a little bit ornery; I look like Patrick Stewart and sound like Sean Connery." Patch 1.13 = (click here)
Immature, ignorant, clueless Blizzard fan-boys amuse me to no end.
I hate to be the guy to defend the fanbois that supposedly are immature, ignorant, and clueless, but have you ever played that POS game? You can't possibly tell me it's any good. Even after the big bug-fixing patch they threw in recently, people still fall through the world and it's only made it slightly more playable for the few that still play it. The game is definately not fit for new players.
The entire Flagship company got pink-slipped, and here you are ragging on so-called "fanbois"? lol.

Some people tell me I'm going to hell. I just let them know that I've already packed my bags!
I thought the floating numbers were unnecessary. I don't want dam numbers popping up as I attack like those mmos. It's probably in your stat page.. but Like I care, I just want to see how much more hp is left before the monster is dead. And the block ... yeah.. could've just had special effects.
I don't know, I'm a loyal Diablo I, II fan and of course I feel very loyal to the original game creators. It's just in development, there's always that weasel that wants everything cool and snazzy without any understanding of authenticity and theme...
You questioning my moderation buddy? Please tell me you are.
Also, you have been one of the most complained about members on this site as of late. You troll, flame, and get into off-topic arguments quite frequently - not to mention flodding the moderator Reported Posts section.
You're walking on thin ice right now. Don't push it.
PS: Enjoy your numerous infraction points for this thread.
i really like the look of the barb... but the witch doctor needs to stay the fuck out of diablo... tell him to take his feather wearing ass back into wow and stay there... i love d1 and d2 and i hope d3 doesnt fail but im startin to think.... ne way.... keep your fuckin wow shit out of diablo
Is it possible to be a Blizzard fanboy AND want the artistic direction changed? Seriously, I love Blizz to death, easily my favorite gaming corporation, but I can still form an opinion about their products in a constructive manner, whether they be postitive or negative.

This petition is to KEEP the current art direction
Good Job Blizzard. Stay on Track
