I had a feeling this rumor was true! Bold statements like "SC2 being annonced next month" tend not to be false. Thats just me.
But Blizzard also said to take the news with a pinch of salt. It could be SC2 or not. But then again it's Blizzard and they enjoy playing mind games. Again thats just me.
Added:
Also Blizzard's releasing another patch for SC or has it already released it?
That's what I was thinking at first, but Blizzard seems to be saying that they're not going Starcraft yet. Then again, that could just be their way of keeping the secret under wraps until the 19th.
It would be pretty hilarious for them to announce a new Diablo game in the heart of Starcraftville (Korea). That'd be one hell of a gamer-cocktease.
they just announced they are releasing a new starcraft patch to test the new league features... u can't release something and test it for 2 weeks then have it live...
Wow Thats The Only Thing That Comes To Mind Is Wow.... I Cant Wait. Ive Been Waiting For This For My Entire Highschool Career!!! Wow!!!(not World Of Warcraft, The Interjection).

DIABLO = DEVIL its not supposed to be a nice game autostats are rediclous lack of pots is not welcome if it aint broke dont fix it! (diablo2)
Angus the peasant saw the necromancer raising the rotting remains and ran away. Since then he told the tale of how he narrowly escaped the necromancer he called "juicy bones".
We do intend to announce a new product at the Worldwide Invitational next month in Korea, and we appreciate the enthusiasm and interest in getting an advance look at what that will be, but players will have to wait until May 19th to find out more.
"Statement number 2"
Also, we have a very strong connection with the characters and settings of StarCraft, and we do plan to revisit that universe at some point in the future, but we don't have anything new to announce in that regard at present. They actually tried to imply the point that it is not Starcraft.. ((Am I the only one who sees that))
Anyways.. obviously...
Blizzard has 3 major Series,,,,
Wow (Has just been released)....
Star Craft,,,, (has just been stated about future release.)
Logicaly, according to this statement if it is Valid a Diablo Release, or as Mentioned a New Series.
Diablo - Gaurenteed Millions despite review...
New Series - Chance..
i agree that it'll most likely be SC2. obviously d3 is what we want the most but a new franchise is also welcome if it turns out to that instead.

April 27, 2007 - Blizzard has updated its job listings with several positions that will be working on a next-gen massively multiplayer online game (MMO). The publisher/developer is seeking a Lead Engine Programmer, Lead Tools Programmer, and a Lead Technical Artist. Begin speculation…now.
The term "next-gen" is typically used to describe consoles, and World of Warcraft has been rumored to be heading to the Xbox 360. Of course, Blizzard's VP of Development Itzik Ben Bassat told Empire Magazine a few months ago that the company's next MMO would not be another WoW. The Lead Engine Programmer Blizzard is seeking will be in charge of developing an entirely new engine for this next-gen MMO, and a port of WoW would likely use a tweaked version of the existing engine.
There have also been ongoing rumors about the continuation of the StarCraft franchise as either another real-time strategy game or a World of StarCraft-type MMO.
Blizzard is set to make a major announcement at an event in Korea next month. IGN will be on hand at the event, and hopefully we'll learn more about this project at that time.

that was the point i was about to make, but you never know with blizzard. they just might be playing with our heads, since they dont like to let on to what they are doing. however i beleive your right, and im hoping we're right. if it is Diablo 3, May 19 will be a day of celebration as well as drinking.
More than drinking for some...
*gets his lighter*(jk)
Anyway, I really hope BOTH games will be annouced, if not well I pary for Diablo III.

This should prove interesting. If this is right then tons and tons of my arguemnts on this site will have been completely wrong.
I'm still going for Starcraft. It does appear that Blizzard is hinting at something besides a SC2, but if this announcement is within three weeks, you're not going to go out now and say: "Yeah you're right, it's SC2. We're just letting you know now to ruin the surprise."
And once again, it's in Korea. There'll be riots if it's anything but Starcraft
PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.

starcraft is good and all, but i want d3 soooo badly
It can be D3 alright, but the chances for something SC-related are much larger in m opinion, because it is Korea. It doesn't make sense that they would announce D3, which has had most success in America and Europe, in Korea, and it doesn't make sense that they would announce SC at Blizzcon, which has had most success in Korea.

Blizzard is messing with us. They're smart. They know that all the info about D3 means that most people will be expecting that. So it's just like them to announce it in Korea. It's all a ploy to keep people guessing as to what the game will be. I'm not saying it's guarenteed to be D3, but I don't think a single rumor and VERY recent happenings are going to contradict 4 years of rumor and very explicit job postings.
I repeat, BLIZZARD IS MESSING WITH YOUR MIND!!! I personally enjoy it. It makes me less certain what it will be, and that's a great tactic. In fact, it's very possible that they're announcing two titles. Think about it, they get everyone speculating as to what the game will be, they have several conflicting rumors floating around, and JUST when everyone is about to go into cardiac arrest from the anticipation, BAM!!! Dual title announcement. Everyone is happy, especially the Koreans.
If I'm right, everyone who thought differently has to give me a cookie. Any takers?

still... 8 against 4+3 or 4 against 2+1... WC is just fine...
I think they wouldn't focus on another mmorpg (that's kinda of what I'm expecting for D3) just now, so maybe it's something else...
what about r'n'r racing revisited? It's their first game right? ;D
=b
