yes it is very old. anyways, i still believe that blizzard is making d3 no doubt. if they dont release it in the next 3 years they will have a very large group of pissed off fans wanting it and their games might be even boycotted. i would boycott them if it came to it, but i still believe that blizzard can deliver quality products and live up to the wants and needs of their fans.
they always succeed cause they never get distracted from their major goal: to make games that even themselves wont be able to stop playing. The quality standards are too high and thats the reason it always takes so long to release. I'm happy with it tbh. And from the clues the people in here gathered... the time of announcement comes really closer!

If you ever meet a hafling and a hungry dragon you dont have to outrun the dragon, you only have to outrun the hafling.
oo it doesnt stop thier kids... i found this while i was on www.diabloii.net
While we knew the games WAS in development last year as Blizzard employees were shown a cinematic privately, it was unkown whether the project had continued due to the success of WoW. Going by this is seems it may well be still ongoing which is great news.
according to this they have inside proof... lets only hope so

I think that they should stop doing WOW and just bring out D3 it will probably have way more users than WOW right now and its been like what 4-8 years since D2 came out? and they waited how long inbetween warcraft 3 frozen throne and WOW? its unfair to all Diablo players that they are coming out with warcraft cames left and right and they are holding off so long on diablo games!(but then again it could be just to build up suspense so that more people would want to buy it and it would be a better selling game series than the Warcraft series!)

World of Warcraft - Finnegin- Level 80 Enhancement Shaman
Unfair is not a valid argument. Blizzard doesn't care if diablo fans get to wait longer for a game, it's not about that. It is about developing their franchises in the right direction.

blizzard has never made a game that overall sucks, while some people consider WOW to be crap, it has sold 8 million copies (even if some are repeat buys), so it. Blizzard console games dont do as well as their PC equivilents, but they do alright. Blizzard will take as long as need to produce gaming excellence. they are pretty high expectations for D3 (and SC2) Blizzard wouldnt want to fail their loyal fans.

I do love the idea of seeing D3 online and the guild housing is a great idea. But waiting another what 2-3 maybe 4 years that i dont like....
I don't think WOW is a crap...I'v played it before...It's just so annoying it costs me 49 bucks every month...and it takes s*** loads of playing time too...
Anyways, I can't wait for them to start working on D3 although I'll be very disappointed if they make it look like WOW...

sure, and if Diablo 3 will be like every Diablo fan wants it (free multiplayer), then they'll cut themselves of about 7billion $/month. Would be a really smart move for Blizzard.

some common sense at last!
No game can be loved by everyone. Especially Diablo fans are used to something more mature and brutal than the cartoonish Warcraft universe. WoW just held to the way the other Warcraft games were, just changed the type of game.
It's just so annoying it costs me 49 bucks every month
wth? how many active accounts have u got?
to me it only costs around 27 euro for 2 months (about 35$).
Important is what Elfen_Lied said. Blizzard want all their released games to be great. Nothing less but great. Thats why it takes so long to release them. And thats why there are so few, but so well selling games they made.
Oh..I probably should've mentioned it...but I meant arount $49 CDN..not USD..
Now I come to think about it though....maybe it was something like $39 CDN...
Haven't played this game for so long and I don't remember anymore...
but still...either $49 or $39, it is still annoying...

sounds still expensive. Anyway to me its worth it but its not the point. We're here cause we cant wait to get official news about Diablo 3 and to unite our passion for that particular game

quite, WOW seems to be doing quite well making some good money. It has its moments, warcraft is an rpg setting good concept, i like it. but id take d2 over WOW any day, id even take baldurs gate 2 over WOW, and infact i do, i dotn own a copy of WOW, and proably wont. its graphics arent all that appealing and im not a big fan of monthly fees. also the simplicity of d2 is great, none of the professions stuff, you are a single class (multiply classes in the case of BG2, but still no job stuff) and thats it.
blizzard will surely not dissapoint us with D3 (or SC2 for that matter), so i think they will take al ong as needed to get it right. or close to, expansions are often needed to futher come close to getting it right.

what most people dont get is that not all people arent looking for the same things. I like the specialization in WoW. I like the real roles in there (i'm a dmg dealer, i'm a tank, i'm a healer etc). Not that it prevents me from loving the good old hack & slash of Diablo ofc, its just that after so many years i dont think it has anything more to offer to me (Diablo 2). I'm sure that Diablo 3 will live up to my expectations as did all Blizzard games to this day.
I sure like a quite a few singleplayer/free multiplayer games too (i used to play Sacred alot, a little Titan Quest and alot Gothic 3 and Oblivion) but what WoW has offered to me (with the ways to get to meet new people - my MSN is full of people i met there) is reaching what Diablo + Diablo 2 did. Till Diablo 3 (at least) i'll stick there.
I really hope Blizzard will keep the simplicity of Diablo 2 in Diablo 3 (as they did with Diablo 1 and 2). Its what made the game so attractive and addictive.
yes, the simplicity is a must, as well as remodeling of the network play, i think its a bit unfair that if someone wants to get a annihilus charm he must trade for it instead of finding it or going through a lot for it. the torch quest was at least better because you had a estimation of the the effort needed to get one and where to begin finding what you needed. diablo clone is super hard to find without using other programs.
i think that especially for the annihilus they did it to get rid of the thousands (if not more) duped SoJs there were on the closed realm. Its the only way it would make sense to me since SoJs (legit) arent that easy to come by (only found 4-5 total in all the years i've been playing).
