These two have always held a special place in my heart. Perhaps there could be a mini game in D3 a about them? Here's my idea of thier history:
Rakanishu, Hero of the Fallen
From that classic image of a poorly drawn Tainted chasing some funny red stick figures, we can determine that the two creatures don't really get along. The fallen cowered to these great beasts in what they call "the bad times" (creative of them, huh?), the time after the fall of Diablo and before he rose again. Their only choice was to run. Early on, a young carver called Rakanishu was captured in one attack. He was tormented by the Tainted, but after weeks of torture, he had built up a resistance to lightning, and released some of it whenever he was struck. This came from a combination of the constant barage of lightning, the fact that this ability was dormant in him for some time, and certain shrines he visited. He managed to escape his captors, and went on to relate his tale to his bretheren. They realized that he could defend himself against the tainted, for their blasts were simply absorbed, and if they attacked him outright they themselves would be shocked. They rallied bewhind him instead of fleeing when the Tainted attacked. Time and time again, he fought them off. Eventually, they learned to np longer attack the fallen and their kin. When the time came to find a guardian of the Carin Stones, he was the obvious choice.
Bishibosh, First of the Shaman
In " the bad times," the Fallen had little to do but defend themselves from the Tainted and Mourn their lost comrades. Bishibosh had, while there were many adventurers, stayed out of harm's way often. He followed these adventurers, in particular the mages, from a safe distance, and had seen the spells they had cast. He noted that thy frequently cast these spells immediately after reading the books found in the many libraries. Once the heroes stopped coming, he felt that it was safe to start reading. He had studied the movements and incantations of the spellcasters as they cast their spells, and figured that it couldn't be too difficult to imitate them, especially once he had read those books. He got his hands on these, but to his great dismay, the made no sense at all. He managed to find a few books with helpful diagrams and spent weeks working out how to read them. In the end, he worked out two spells- Fire ball and ressurect. Due to his limited reading ability, he had to fill in the gaps, and in so doing actually developed two unique spells. He was never able to work out how exactly the mages managed to make the explosions on collison. But in his ignorance, he mastered a skill never managed by the pasising adventurers- he learned the ressurect spell. He showed his abilities to the other fallen, and immediately gained the respect of hs fellow fallen. He selected some especially inteligent fallen and taught them his spells. The knowledge spread like wildfire, and he was soon legendary.
I dont see a minigame or a quest in this. Besides there both already dead if diablo 3 will be set after diablo 2. I dont find these two particulary interesting .
Allow me to elaborate. The mini-quest that I was thinking of would involve you playing as Bishibosh and Rakanishu. I was thining that maybe it might have some effect on what spells the fallen shaman have later on.

What d'you think? Would it make a good mini game?
That could have been how it happened...
unzip, strip, touch, finger, grep, mount, fsck, more, yes, fsck, fsck, fsck, umount, sleep
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
I like what I see!
