I miss selling a Skorn for $100 and going drinking for the weekend Then again, now I don't get to drink on someone else's dime but I do have better geared characters. Can't wait to get home and screw around in PTR; I want to see these gems.
Trading will come back 99% with patch 3.0, but without the auction house. Maybe we get trading servers..
That would be terrible for the BoA lovers (who actually control this site.)
Everybody knows if they made a trading server and a non trading-BoA server, there would be a ridiculously low amount of the playerbase in the BoA one. I'm guessing a 10% , tops.
Of course, it would include all the Non trading defenders like Bagstone, Bandyto, Bleu and such who are the most outspoken here. That is, until they created a char with another name and they went to the trading server cheating on their Oh so beloved Game that they managed to impose upon the rest of us.
People that like trading are usually frowned upon by the Holy inquisition on this forum, sadly. And given all kind of insults and jibes. The photo a few posts above clearly shows the way these people usually behave. Not all of them, but most of the BoA lovers act like that. High-school pack bullying anyone who has a different opinion.
Fact is, according to numbers, playerbase has been vastly reduced from vanilla D3 to RoS. They made a huge majority of the playerbase quit their game, and no matter how this BoA lovers wanna hide the facts, or say they love the game now, from a market point of view it is a disastrous result.
I honestly think Blizzard investors are not really happy with what JM did to the game. At all. And they actually are the only ones whose opinion matters.
Please don't spread bullshit around. We had enough of that during vanilla days.
There's no such thing as BoA-lovers "controlling" the site. I have been here since forever and personally said a dozen+ times about how I miss the AH and how I feel like they took the easy way out with trading, and was never "bullied" for it. Been around long enough to see a couple other hundred people speaking in favor of it as well. It's not like people who speak in favor of the AH get shut down or censored, so again, quit spreading fallacies and bullshit around
Also, while my own personal point of view is like that, I am positive there are more people in favor of BoA than against it these days, specially after what most people perceive as an extremely bad experience with AH. I might not agree with them, but I'll defend to death their right of stating what they want for the game.
If some people here behave the way you described, it's more likely because of your own attitude and way of saying things than because of your view on specific game features
I never intended to spread bullshit. I just wanted to say my opinion. Which you just said to be defending. That is, freedom of speech.
If you don't understand the fact that most people will obviously not confront a "senior Moderator" of a forum site, just because you could easily punish them, or simply out of respect, I think you have your issue there.
Please take a look at the forums. Every time someone starts a Pro-trading post, they get flamed and insulted to death. Yet , curiously, you never show up there to intervene, or in this post with the oh so funny and adequate picture a few posts above.
Yet you took the time to comment my post, critiicize my attitude and way of saying things. How was I rude or inadequate is beyond my knowledge, nor intended.
You said you've been here forever. Mind you, don't look at my join date, I simply never felt the need to post; but I probably have been here as long as you do. I don't like drawing attention or being a drama queen. And my opinion about who "controlls" this site have been developed over a lot of time. You saying whatever you wanna say won't change that. Anyone, given a few months reading threads in here, will create their own opinion about it.
Also, I know you are an educated person. Could we have you opinion about the BoA move success? From Blizzard's point of view, that is. How big is the playerbase now?
I don't know if there's a majority of people in favour of BoA. I do know though, it's common nature on people to defend what they are given, or know. That's how humans behave, and that's why people in dictatorship tend to defend what they have. Or why, in the early months of d3 vanilla life, people was saying it was wonderful and perfect. Blindfolded reality perception.

That would be terrible for the BoA lovers who actua(lly control this site.) (Not fact based/opinion)
Everybody knows (Not fact based/opinion)if they made a trading server and a non trading-BoA server, there would be a ridiculously low amount of the playerbase in the BoA one. (Not fact based/opinion) I'm guessing a 10% , tops.

That is, until they created a char with another name and they went to the trading server cheating on their Oh so beloved Game that they managed to impose upon the rest of us. (supposition, definately not fact, down right untrue, nothing imposed)
People that like trading are usually frowned upon by the Holy inquisition (negative reference to historic group of ill repute, lets just call thisname calling)on this forum, sadly. And given all kind of insults and jibes. The photo a few posts above clearly shows the way these people usually behave. Not all of them, but most of the BoA lovers act like that. High-school pack bullying anyone who has a different opinion.(pot calling kettle black here)

I honestly think Blizzard investors are not really happy with what JM did to the game. At all. And they actually are the only ones whose opinion matters. (opinion)( entitled to it)
You speak in ways that seem relaxed, casual, and try to appear factual.
I don't think so. Your agenda is clear, you don't like BoA, we get it.
First off, hundreds of people have challenged Bagstone's opinion before, as they have mine. It's not uncommon for us, with 5+ posts, to have disagreed with other members, even some which we consider to be friends (Maka, overneathe). It's part of human nature. And we are ok disagreeing with others, as long as there is respect. And that is the key word here.
Second, someone shouldn't be "afraid" of disagreeing with a moderator or any staff member because of their opinion, again, as long as there is respect. The moment a person starts flaming the other (aka attacking their personality instead of their ideas), or flat out trolling other members (which is usually quite clear, we're not stupid), is the moment we step out of the argument and start performing our staff duties.
Third, if someone is ever "punished" for disagreeing with a staff member, they can submit their concerns to other staff members and their case will be reviewed. Though when that happens, it's not uncommon for the user to conveniently ignore part of their own post which is a violation of forum rules, and instead just narrow down the situation to "I'm being censored".
As I said, the reason some people overreact to any "pro trading" opinion, and sometimes treat that opinion as wrong, is because of our forum's and game's own history. Most people who had a "pro trading" stance had a very arrogant attitude back in vanilla days, liked stating how they were making moneyz and everyone else was dumb. Not to mention the game itself supposedly had a "horrible gameplay experience" because items didn't drop (because of the AH).
Most users are also tired of this discussion. We have had hundreds of threads about this. Ever since the AH closure was announced, people have discussed this to death. And as I said, most "pro trading" users had the most trollish and shitty attitude possible. People are just tired of discussing the same thing again.
I'm not saying players shouldn't discuss Trading ever again, but unless there's a "change of scenery" as they like to call in politics, where new facts or context are brought to light, there's no reason to keep arguing the same things ad infinitum. It's just pointless, and that's what most people are tired about.
Saying these people "imposed their game upon the rest of us" is, again, bullshit. That decision was made by the developers (there wasn't a community poll or anything), after (as they said themselves) a very heated and looooongdebate amongst themselves. These people voiced their opinion, and the devs agreed with them. As I've said before, I don't like that, I don't agree with them, but I'll not distort facts for my own pleasure. As you are doing.
It's all a matter of understanding the game's history, and the context behind a situation.
"One persons freedom ends where another persons freedom begins"
The moment your statements start harming the website's image and credibility (saying somehow anti-trading people "control" it), as well as attacking other members by name, calling them bullies and saying they don't allow others to defend their own opinions, is the moment I stop defending your "right of free speech". Freedom of speech, as any other type of freedom even in the most democratic countries, is not absolute, and must always be used responsibly.
That would be terrible for the BoA lovers who actua(lly control this site.) (Not fact based/opinion)

Don't act like everyone else feels the same.
Precisely. Just for those red highlighted areas his post would already warrant an infraction/deletion. They're clear violations of some forum rules and serve no purpose to the "discussion" itself.
But doing that would only give credit to his "assumptions", and make him think he's right.
Usually when the post has some substance (instead of being just violations), I prefer to make a post and explain why it is flat out wrong. Make it clear for everyone else that we do not sweep the dust under the rug. As long as I'm on Diablofans, users are allowed, no, encouraged, to voice their opinions and concerns, on every single matter about the game. But responsibly and with respect towards others.
I would like to have the opportunity to trade gems. 1 gem of any value for another of equal value. That way all the gems you don't need, doesn't feel so useless.
Some limited sort of trading would be nice; I'm not sure how you would regulate it to prevent any concerns regarding the reason it was removed in the first place. I have however had a few moments recently when I found something I would've really loved to give to a friend and even a silly old item I would've loved to give to my Fiance for cutesy reasons. I miss it at times.
Gotta love the irony here. People who want increased drops so they can find there own items in "X" amount of time are "Casuals" People who want rediculously low drop rates "For the longevity of the game" want trading because they cant find things so they can get the gear they want quicker are "Hardcore". They both look the same to me.
