bash explains everything is as it is for release and changes will not be made to it. he specifically talks about the chat channels, but if they wont even do a simple change to a chat channel (which knowing programming does not take that long) they definitely wont be changing/adding anything else. so GG to all the folks who wanted adds/changes. this game is coming out exactly how it is in the beta. woop woop. release imminent and not far off

understand that there is a difference between change and polish. I didn't think there were any changes to the way the game was going to work untill a patch after release at a core level. I still expect some polish in some places (skill UI please!!!!). Most of these features seam to already have a substantial amount of dev time placed in them.
Also if you do know programming even the simplest change in a system as complex as a video game can bring about un-intended problems, bugs, etc... Its almost never as easy as you think to change just a few lines of code in any complex program. And i think they want it to be as bug free as the game can be at lauch. If they are going to release this game soon then they need to iron stuff out because while we have what we have in the beta, the internal teams have been bashing at this for a while.
Sign of release indeed. Good thing imo, I don't really mind the chat channels since I will spend most of my time in-game anyway. Release date announcement imminent!!

I believe it's more like "this game is coming out exactly how it is in their current internal test", which could be tons of times less buggy, more optimized and with fleshed out content than the beta.
As long as it's bug-free (at least as much as SC2) and has the content well structured, and they fix the current Skill UI, I'm fine with pretty much everything.
Can't wait much longer, and can't take many more huge changes to the idea of a game I had when it was announced (death animations, runes, stats systems changing a lot, different UIs with some older ones looking better imho, etc.).
I want to get this game as soon as i can, but i really hope they do something about that rune menu and about that filters. Two simple things that for me is kind of important.

i wasnt referring to bugs sir. just the major systems and how they are. people post threads here asking for changes/adds not bug fixes. which was what i was referring to.

The Beta's condition is not that bad. I think the only thing everyone can agree on however is that the skill page needs reworking (I dont care how its accomplished but it needs doing).
This is also not a reference to bugs or the like. ever since I got into the Beta it has felt like a very solid game (for what we were exposed to).
I'm not overjoyed with the skill runes, but could honestly give a damn about chat channels. I'd much rather play the game than sit around gabbing about it. We have in game chat and forums like this and the official Diablo III for that nonsense.
I'm actually quite sure (99%) that we will be hearing a release date announcement from them within the next week. The simply have never talked like this before:
-"will be hearing a release date in the near future. Notice I didn't say "soon".
-"no more changes to the game, we're ready to release it."
I might have focused on bugs, but I meant content wise too. It is possible (actually, even feasible) that their internal test already has a better skill UI (done in the past 3-4 days) and they just don't wanna go through the work of patching it into the beta. Who knows what else monster/quest/skill/item-related is different in their internal build.
Also, there's 0 chance of seeing a legendary now in the beta, no dyes, gems, so that points towards the beta being a very incomplete build content-wise too (not just bug-wise) - imho.
But I totally support your message, people have to understand that there's going to be less iteration (if any) from now own, on rune systems or stats or whatever, they just wanna release the game already (it's been too long already). The earlier they realize this, the sooner they'll get over some things not changing now.

Exactly.
Does the beta have the same features as the internal build? Perhaps, but I'd doubt it. This near to a release date they are certainly close.
However in this instance, it is quite clear he is specifically talking about chat channels so claiming it as "proof" that the game is set in stone is disingenuous at best. Considering the chat channels are such a small part of the game, you cannot infer anything from his statement.
I'd like to point out that all of this is being taken out of context. He is specifically responding to a post regarding battlenet 2.0, not Diablo 3 specifically. So anything having to do with skills, or runes, or whatever, are not being addressed here. So we can still expect a UI fix at the least.
but if they wont even do a simple change to a chat channel (which knowing programming does not take that long) they definitely wont be changing/adding anything else.
This made me lulz, thank you good sir.
For the record, if you know anything about programming, you would understand how terribly wrong this statement is.
Without the source of an application it is extremely hard to gauge the complexity of a change, and to modify anything regarding functionality rather than a simple variable change is potentially hundreds of lines of code to modify.
We'll just have to see. Just so you know, most rumours and thoughts out on the forums are just guesses and opinions. Why would you try to 'make up' or 'conclude' that the game is gonna be shipped as-is... Just be patient.
I'm sorry, i agree that the chat channel sucks compared to D2's and the skill page is awful BUT nothing beats releasing the game, patches can fix/adjust this things, PLEASE, for god sakes RELEASE THE GAMEWRE1!!

Jay also said that the internal full build is better than the beta (or alluded to that, at least). So you'd assume they at least fixed that.

Oh yeah... it's go time. Get your gamer hats on.
