i understand what u are saying....every legit item would have a set price much like things do now
Sojs- 4-5 hrs
tal ammy - 2 hrs
hoz- 10 hrs
but instead of using hrs or other items like sojs it could be more civilized and use gold instead
like soj - 2000 gold
tal ammy - 1500 gold
hoz - 10,000 gold
and so on and so forth.
of course make gold much much harder to aquire.
though pking people would be friggen sweet in the effort of Robbing them\ as all there hard earned gold would fall to the floor lol
That is exactly what I am saying M'lord.
They would have to set up some kind of arena for dueling if they were to make your gold drop on your death so no-one could take your gold that you faught so skillfully for. But that would encourage people to cheat and just make Mules which they can kill over and over just so they can get their gold.
It would be a hard thing to perfect when they develop the game. They would have to make some kind of "second currency" or loot system for everyday use i.e. buying potions, town prtal scrolls etc.
Just an idea, but to get it right would require lots of planning.
-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.

Im indifferent....gold...no gold...whatever. I never put mine to use for much
That's because it wasn't important!
I believe gold in Diablo III MUST be important. I remember playing Ultima Online a long time ago and that game revolved around gold. Sure, it was an MMO, but it very good with the importance of gold as the currency.
It is really just its large abundance that makes it useless in D2. If monsters in hell only dropped like 2 gold instead of 420 then it would be much more important.

It's not only that, What is a SoJ worth in gold? Well... actually nothing beacause gold can't buy you another unique back, and that no one will ever trade you a rare unique(I mean like SoJ,Occy,Lidless or items like that) against gold.
I both like and dislike this system, beacause gold isn't the main thing to have and that the only way to have good item is trade, most of the time beaucause you got good drops(and worked for it).
But, I don't like the fact that even 1000Mil can't buy you at least a rare*
*Gambling isn't that good...
I think gold should be important for medium-quality items(like good rares in D2), and useless for uniques.I aslo think gold should be a little more hard to get, mfing in hell(andy) for about 5-15 minutes gets my stash full.

Oh and don't forget to listen to some Led Zeppelin!
The thing is, not matter how good or bad you are, you can survive in the game without having a single dollar to your name.
My lvl 89sin has got about 10K of gold in her hand and that's it. I haven't put gold in my stash for ages and I don't really need to. All i need to do in kill one monster in the blood moor and I will get an item that (despite being of crap quality) sells for 35K which will buy me all the pots and scrolls i need to survive.
Maybe it would also make gold more useful if you could gamble for uniques.
Not to mention it would probably make soj's more aquirable due to the fact that rings never change in price.
The whole not being able to buy unqies back sucks balls. Especially when you accidentally sell an anni. I would have sold all the gear in my stash to buy that back BUT I COUOLDN'T!!!!!! It sucked ass..........
NOOOOO!!!! Gold has NEVER been important in Diablo. And once gold becomes important, it might as well just move onto an MMORPG and then we will be paying REAL gold just to play the game. Still think gold is important? You will, if it does.
Have you ever had to repair a runeword armour??? at all??? Gold is important early in the game, and nothing later until you want to repair that uber item

Max gold pile should be like 75 found off the strongest of monsters in the hardest difficulty.
Agreed, making it harder to get and givin it a real function in the game, such as expand bank, guild house, repair(Seriously, the cost of each thing compare to amount each mob dropped was just piece of cake).
The only faliure of D2 was the amount of gold per mob and of course the valueless of it.
I hope they do a better job about that, and the rest is pretty good.

"3 HR's for 1000 gold"
Now that would be sweet.
No more 100-20000 gold piles. Max gold pile should be like 75 found off the strongest of monsters in the hardest difficulty.
