PlugY for Diablo II allows you to reset skills and stats, transfer items between characters in singleplayer, obtain all ladder runewords and do all Uberquests while offline. It is the only way to do all of the above. Please use it.
Supporting big shoulderpads and flashy armor since 2004.
i don't mean to be negative but the SCII beta keys were given out 2008 while the actual beta started early 2010. i don't think it's going to be the same thing with Diablo III, but we might need to wait a bit before getting too excited.
Im just wondering if the new system allows us to not listen to the stories. I mean i love the lore and Im gonna listen to it all when i play through the game for the first couple of times, but later on im gonna want to skip it. And I actually prefer to listen while standing still because fighting noises do make it difficult to hear parts of the story.
If I remember correctly, just after the game announcement, years ago, they said that they don't want to force story down your throat. You'll be able to skip most of it if you just want to play the game. Of course, there still is the storyline and stuff. Dunno how much that statement may have changed. I've heard that they basically scrapped 50% of the game after announcement, so a lot has probably changed.
Your optimism is refreshing but highly unrealistic Not to say it wouldn't be awesome to be in the beta, but with the current state of the game, I'd give it at least another year.
Dammit Seth, you insistent talk of this game coming out in 2012 keeps bumming me out. Believe in the June 28th, 2011 release date or else....:P Look at all of these systems, items, locations, and everything they have done or are finishing. I remain optimistic, just look at the sig.

Its in no way unrealistic...
Good argument  After actually playing it and listening to all the work that the developers still need to do I believe, without a doubt, that the game still has at least a year to go.
And I see, without a doubt, that the game could come out next year, though I'm betting more on the late year than the middle.
We could keep this argument-less fight going on. Neither you nor I have enough information about the game and most importantly their plans, to really know when its gonna be there...
Who else has watched the gameplay video and saw the part featuring the ghosts of Lazarus, King Leoric, and the Queen? I thought that was pretty bad-ass, and I hope the game has more story telling elements such as that.
Yes Yes. Diablo III does look absolutely amazing.
Now...if they could at least manage to give us some kind of target release date...
We know Blizzard usually does not make their release dates, but at least it would get rid of some of this anticipation for the game...
=(((
I'm with Siaynoq on this one, I really enjoyed the long monologues from the NPCs. The voice acting in these was fantastic, it really helped me to immerse myself in the game and the lore.
I greatly prefer monologues to dialogues as well, I think it's just a better way to get lore across and develop character. To make dialogue sound natural, Blizzard will undoubtedly have to simplify what the NPCs say and therefore, we'll hear less information. I think this is a real shame.
I really hope Diablo 3 won't lose the remainder of the series's atmospheric strengths that we experienced in the first two games (albeit in different manners) because of this and other factors. I hope Blizzard can make all their changes work while still maintaining everything that made the first two installments special.
