What do you mean by shrinking? I like the Elder Scrolls
I don't know how can you like TES and not be aware of how tiny Oblivion is compared to Daggerfall.

The game will release much sooner than 2011, for the fact that the game graphics and engine will be considered "out of date" or boring when 2011 rolls around...In just 2 years we have had more computer and graphical achievments than we have in history.
If they release D3 in 2011, then the game will look weak....Blizzard doesnt want that.
Um, the game is going to graphically improve over the development time, those graphics we seen are not final.

Graphically improve? Implementing new graphics to already constructed layout, would take a rediculous amount of time, its unlikely they will "Graphically improve" the game very much...At least not significantly.

I am going to write the most pointless post. Please don't be mad.
The longer they take, the more content (i.e. movies) they can add. The stats may change a bit here and there. Maybe they will introduce additional runes and twist the skill tree because it is easy to do. But that's all that shall be expected. It is not going to improve graphically (i.e. turn into a 3D game). At best, there will be some additional "visual effects" such as lightning/shadows. The screenshots will probably not change much in the final product. It will not have any fancy stuff for communicating between players because this would be a strand on the server and you have alternatives (such as teamspeak). Some bugs will be fixed, but the number of technical glitches can only increase as the content increases. According to some websites, the game will be released in 2010... that's already 8 years in the making and will be finished 2 years about from now!! It is really a long time. I wish Blizzard stop showing off in early development, stop updating their website and work on the game. They have a lot to do and quite a hard task to match the huge expectation. Maybe they will finally make it possible to destroy "weak" objects such as furniture (i.e. chairs, desk). Maybe they will have a better solution to tackle cheating. Maybe they will improve their server.
Cya next year.

I think what he means that the game will not graphically improve from this point in development! DIII graphics will remain the same! The only thing they can do is to improve lightning and shadows, as yes4me already stated!
I think you need to stop using so many exclamation marks.

And as far as I can remember, Starcraft II graphics are pretty much the same since they revealed it!
Your opinion, I guess, but, personally, they improved the graphics by quite a margin.

When i look at the early stage starcraft 2 screens and the latest, there is a huge difference in my opnion, tons more details and they look a little sharper.

Blizzard for as long as I can remember never stuck to a release date so I wouldn't expect it any time soon...they arn't giving any real information about stages of development and they've always made people wait extremely long time...as much as I would like to say 2010-2011 we may not see it. blizzard is just a tease
If Diablo III was announced in 2008, does this mean we're gonna see it in 2011. I know that WoW was released at the 10th anniversary of the franchise, but I don't think they waited that long just to release it at exactly that date (or year)! If they will do this with Diablo, then there is a LOOOOONG wait ahead!
Well since SC2 has yet to be released, and Blizz most likely will not release 2 games at the same time, I would not expect D3 in 2009 at all. If Blizz were to release SC2(which is broken into 3 games) and Diablo3 in the same year, they would probably be around 6 months apart from one another.
So lets wait see when the first installment of SC2 will be released and then we can start making better predictions from that. The only thing we know 100% right now is that the first part of SC2 will be released before D3.

Didn't blizzard state that they'd release diablo 3 before starcraft 2 though?
That was my understanding from things I've heard anyway.
What did you expect? It was only "just" announced. You know how Blizzard takes its announcements to mind... it simply doesn't.
At least we know there will be a continuum, clearing out the "if". All that remains is the when.

Darn, I want to upgrade my pc, and am terrified it won't run the new version. Come on Blizzard get this game out and cheer up the world economy. Please give us some news.
If anything it will worsen the world economy state, lol..

Compare morrowind to daggerfall, then oblivion to morrowind.....they keep getting smaller lol

REN, you simply got your info confused. Blizzard stated that SC2 will come out before DIII, not the other way around.
