posted a message on Well Diablo 3 is coming to consoles after all.
I forget which Blizz rep said it(maybe Bashiok?), but they stated a while back when the whole Console thing was brought up that if they did decide to make a console version that it would not interfere with the release of the PC version.

posted a message on ladder info
My guess is that the ladder system is going to be replaced by an Achievement system(not sure how it will work). So instead of resetting a ladder, they might add new achievements or reset certain achievements for players to do. These achievements would be tied to items that you can get only when you have completed them.

posted a message on So lately I've been playing through torchlight..
I've been playing Torchlight recently and all I can really say is that it brings back a little nostalgia of D2 for me. But that is about it. Its like a graphically updated version of D2 and D1 combined. If you go to town the music there is very(and I mean very) similar to Tristram from D1.

I do have to say I am enjoying running through the game though. I only play around 2 hours every other day, if that, and I tend to swap between the 3 classes a bunch trying to go through the game with all 3 at the same time. I have a really good feeling that once I run through the game 1 time I will not be playing it again. So I am getting as much out of it as possible.

If you got it on Steam for $5 like I did then it is well worth it. Just don't expect a game that will allow for replayability.

I voted for the Barbarian. I don't find the WD all that fascinating. I voted against the WD in every poll the WD has been in so far. I am not a big fan of that kind of play style I guess.

Armor set pieces should be weaker then their Unique counterpart individually. However when you get the bonus from having multiple pieces of that set, they should equal the unique items.

This will allow for diversity in item choices. Uniques and Rares should be very powerful by themselves but sets should have the ability to be as powerful except in a different kind of way by having to wear the multiple pieces.

I also think there should be some Sets that scale with level. One thing I really hated in D2 was that you would find a shitty low level set piece when you are level 60+. I haven't payed D2 in so long, but that's how I remember it being.

I don't think they are going to go with the full plate armor look. I could see it showing up as a specific look to a Set, if sets are even in the game, but I do not see it being common. Personally I have no problem with it, but I just think Blizzard is going to stray away from that full on tank feel and give armor a more kick ass feel as in armor that seems more worth for attacking than tanking.

Is it just me or does the male wizard have a bit more of a feminine look to him? (well facial features that is) I guess I just pictured the male wizard as having a more mad/power hungry look to him. He looks, dare I say, dainty.

Did anyone else notice that Bashiok made a post about the female monk art challenge and said,

If you want to show off your female monk artwork it must be done through twitter. I'll keep this list updated until around February 1st.

My guess is that the female monk will be released February 1st or maybe a day or so after.

posted a message on New Skill System Poll
I chose "Other" because I feel blizz is going to come up with something completely different. A book system is based upon drop % too much and hinders people from moving on to new content when they are grinding mobs just to get skills. To me the anywhere, anyplace skill system seems too crazy with a whole lot of balancing issues.

As for skill leveling / skill studying, I assume one of these is based on the way you level skills in WOW and the other would be that you have to use the skill in order to level it up. The WOW based skill system is nice, but I would want something different for D3. Leveling up a skill by using it will cause way too much grinding I think, or it will lead to you only leveling up a couple of skills to get you through the game which becomes D2 in the sense that only a handful of skills are useful.

posted a message on Not looking good for the Knight
The monk is definitely a cross between the assassin and the paladin I think. Clearly has assassin type of attacks, but we have only seen 4 or 5 abilities. I think he is going to have a few paladin type auras as well. Also, some possible self heal or health regen ability. As for the Knight type of class, I would guess it is going to show up in the expansion in some form.

Right now Blizz wants to make each class unique, and to me the Knight class(or paladin from D2) is too much of a best of both worlds type of class. It has a little bit of everything which makes it less unique and more boring to play, atleast for me anyway.

I would think so, there are more people in the world now than way back when D2 came out. Plus I am sure D3 will be a much more enjoyable and re-playable game than D2 is.

    Quote from "maximusje" »
Bashiok doesn't say that the witch doctor might be able to cross gaps; He only confirms that the witch doctor might have a few mobility skills (doesn't have to mean that you cross gaps).

Well crossing gaps was just an example, however, Bashiok also mentioned(though I did not quote that part) that they are looking at certain types of skills such as mobility skills that won't give one class more of an advantage at doing something better than another in certain situations.

This makes me think that Blizz is going to give every class a type of ability to cross gaps, be it in different kinds of ways and with different pros and cons to those abilities. I mean just think if you were playing with a friend who was a Wizard or Barb and they just tele or jump over a gap in the bridge and start fighting mobs on the other side, but you as the Witch Doc(who at this current time doesnt have an ability to allow them to cross the gap) has to go down and around using ladders and such. Personally I would feel a bit annoyed that I didn't have an ability like that.

I dont want my character to feel inferior to any other character, and as long as the abilities that allow each class to overcome that obsticale are unique to that character, I am perfectly fine with that.

Maybe it's an ungodly speed. An old witch doctor curse that allows him to move with demonic speed.

Would ungodly speed allow him to cross gaps in bridges though? I guess if he is moving so fast it is like he is walking on air or something. I like the idea of a kind of curse that he puts on himself. Something that will give him this mobility for a short time but at the cost of losing something else.
