But Aatassi, there is a huge difference between Druids and Necromancers. They both have pets, but the pets are so different and work in different ways. And Necro's can't transform, or cast fire or wind spells. Sorceress don't cast wind either. Druids are the only ones that can transform and use nature spells and summon ravens and wolves and bears and spirits.
Paladins are Holy, Barbarians are not.
Amazons are ranged warriors, Barbarians are not.
Amazons use Bows and Javelins, but Rogues only use Bows.
There is a huge difference between them.
And its not just about functionality, its about the lore too. Paladins play a very important role in Diablo, something a Barbarian can never fill.
Whoa, I just realised, where do spirits come from, according to the lore? I'm gonna make a thread about that.
Not really, actually. Its a lot of jumbled information where you seem to be saying that the 'hybrid' classes are boring because 'more' is boring while 'less' is interesting, and that the hybrid classes are useless because there are more specifically orientated classes that can do the exact same jobs as they can.
How does that make any sense? Can you please possibly explain to me your sense of logic? I'll try my best to explain mine.
We just don't understand how you think that having a few extra classes makes it boring. Isn't variety more interesting? If you simplify it too much, it becomes boring because its plain. But the Druid and Paladin provide some variety. Having only a sorcerer, ranger and warrior to me is boring, but obviously not to you. Why? Seriously, 'boring' is completely the wrong word to use. Simplifying things never makes them more interesting. I would be able to understand you if you said something else other than 'boring'.
You seem to only be interested in functionality. Would you prefer a plain black painting or a painting with many images? To me (and most people), its not about functionality, its about being unique, looking cool, and choosing the right class for you. So of course I prefer a variety so I am able to attempt to be unique as much as possible, and be able to choose something that has the right elements of what I consider 'cool' to represent my personality in the best possible way.
I don't want to be just another magician. I want to be a special kind of magician that sets me apart from the others. Ideally, I actually want to be a combination of the Druid and the Necromancer - another 'hybrid' that, to me, is a very interesting combination.
I agree that it would suck if they had heaps of classes like Oblivion does, where there is no real definition between them, but as long the Diablo classes are unique then its fine - and all of the Diablo II classes are unique.
I don't think that Diablo III will be the same as II, but I don't think they would revert back to the basic classes consisting of 'melee' 'ranged' and 'magic'. That is boring and unimaginative.
The paladin and the druid are hybrid char. the paladin can hit at distance with only one spell then finish the combat in melee when in contact or when their is no mana.
the druid can choose eiser a melee attack (lycantrophy) or ranged attack (tornado, volcano, etc.)
The amazon is also a hybrib char like the druid with a talent to attack from distance (bows, crossbows) and another to attacks in melee (spears, javelins).
These hybrids char are warriors and sorcerers (including necro).
The hybrids char are not suited for group attack. We d'ont know what they realy want to do.
I know they are hybrids, its what I like about them. Much more interesting than a plain 'magic' or 'melee' or 'ranged'. But how are they are not useful for a group attack? If anything they are more useful because they have a wider range of abilities and can adapt to situations easier. If a Sorceress runs out of mana, they cannot revert to melee like the Paladin can. How does that make a Sorceress better?
But Diablo isn't just about being a group - its also a single player game. I hardly ever play in groups.
Groups aren't even very organised anyway, its just everyone uses their strongest abilities to take down whatever is in their path.
But [Druids] are not realy effetive in combat.
How? Druids are very effective in combat, actually. And I'm not talking about them on an 'uber' scale, because you can't say that they aren't very effective just because they can only do 10000 damage while all the other classes can do 15000 damage (made-up numbers). Because 10000 damage is damn effective.
You are wrong, the characteres were not unique.
Give me an example of any two skills that are exactly the same?
what the hell is he talking about anyway? first he talks about wow, then he talks about god knows what, and then he talks about paladins attacking creeps? whats going on? is this even about diablo?
However, you generalise too much and pose some questions that are actually really easy to answer. And you're only coming from a functional point of view. There is a whole other world out there full of people who don't care about statistics.
The problem is when you have many char more then 5, How will you choose your char?
By choosing the one that you feel like playing. lol, obviously.
I only ever play the Sorceress, Necromancer or Druid (but mostly Druid, and least of all Sorceress) - the three variations of a magic-class. And obviously I only choose Sorcerer in DI. If it wasn't for the Druid class, I would have to stick to Necro and Sorceress, and would get bored quicker because I wouldn't have as many options to explore. There is such a big different between the three of them though, including their different builds. You have fire, lightning, ice - curse, spirit, undead - fire, wind, bear, wolf, animals. If I feel like transforming into a wolf but if the Druid didn't exist, then I would be sorely disappointed. I don't want to be disappointed.
You will choose the paladin and the druids because you like their names or you choose others char to better play in a team. Or maybe you think that most players will choose all the char because they have a lot of times.
No, I choose a Druid because I like the nature side of him, not because of his name - and thats something that neither the Necromancer or the Sorceress can substitute for. And I am a casual gamer, so I'm not looking to be the most effective player, I'm just looking to be whatever I want to be and if possible add my unique skills to a team.
When you choose a char, you wanted to be funny. That does mean you wanted to be good in every field : pvp, pvm, pve, in dungeons, in battlegrounds.
"Funny" is not the right word. But no, I'm not looking to be good in every field, I'm looking to be me. And I'm not the only one. We don't all just want to be the best gamer, you know.
Their is always problems when you play with hybrids char. You d'ont what they want to do. I have played a lot in group in WOW, i can tell you that hybrids are borings. They simply d'ont fit.
We're talking about Diablo, not WoW. Diablo already has different classes, just like WoW does, so why are you using an example from WoW when you should be using one from Diablo?
and [the most interesting class] in Diablo 2 extension the assasin (new char, new spells)
Thats completely based on opinion though. I found the Druid the most interesting by far.
I have never seen in WOW players who like to play with hybrids in a team
Thats no reason to take them out of the game! Other than the fact that you're talking about WoW and not Diablo, its still no reason to take them out. What the hell? The game is not just about making the best team, there are many solo players or people that just like to choose a class because it is cool, you know.
You cannot say that less classes will make it a better game if you're only thinking of yourself. You have to accommodate for everyone because not everyone thinks hybrids are boring.
If you just want to be functional and make the best party, then just don't choose the hybrid classes. Simple. There's no need to take them out of the game.
Edit: Guys, I'm assuming English is not his native tongue, so his sentence structure is excused.
I say bring all the classes back from D1 and D2:LOD and have a few more other classes like summoner, monk, hunter and shaman! as for races they should have humans, naphalem and edyrem from the sin war trilogy books!!!
SC2 will be a massive fail, but I would like to see around 5-10 chars, not too many.
massive fail??? oh yea it kinda makes sense dat the first SC is one of the best RTS of all time and wit the improvements and innovations blizzard planned for the game, SC2 will be a very great game
anyways i dont think anybody has said this (but im not sure since i dont feel like llokin at 100 pages) but something like a Death Knight which is like a Paladin and Necro combined wit skills like Poison Blade and like FoH (fist of heavens i think it is) maybe there should be a skills like The fist of the wicked or damnnation (lowerin enemy stats). this bad boy or girl also has combat abilities making him or her a well balanced char, like the paladin

I'm pretty sure somewhere through the first 100 pages of mayhem that somebody had said something about a Death Knight, but I'm pretty sure no body has mention The fist of the wicked. lol its something about the fist of wicked thats make me want to chuckle.

Not to detract from your idea or anything, but I think the concept of inverting any character's skills and stuff to make them good or evil is a dumb idea. It takes no creativity.
Seriously, stop multi posting. You see that box at the bottom right of your post that says "edit"? Push that button, and then add what you need to. That is part of why everyone thinks you are a moron. We keep telling you to edit your posts, and you keep multiposting.
STOP IT!!!
And try to form complete sentences, please. I see you are from France. How about you just type everything in French, and I will translate. I speak and write French fluently, so I think it might be better if I just do all the translating for you.

Each skill is unique in Diablo 2, which means that no character is redundant because they each have different moves.
But then we have things like runewords that have the powers to give their holder a power of another class.

There is no eruption skill, btw. I think you mean volcano? Or fissure?
But when I play druids I pretty much always play as a wind druid, and its pretty damn effective, I am certainly not restricted to only 'eruption'.
Well, as long as you aren't saying that they should take out the "extra" classes then thats fine.
"A diabolical sorcerer who can invoke insects, control them and make them explode at a distance a little bit like the Necromancer of Diablo 2"
