i played for like 2 months... after playing d2 where u could slay countless monsters in 2 seconds the one monster at a time thing fuckin sucked... i hated wow because it was fuckin slow ass shit... lvling was slow... battles were slow... the kids playing it were slow (in the head) and going from place to place was slow... all in all... the game belongs in my fireplace... oh nvm thats where it went last winter... lulz
The game was very much worth it when it came, during the expansion the worth has gone down month after month.. and now I finally think I quit the game. I might see whats WotLK is about and level my char to 80 but I guess thats about it.

whats funny is that people claim some things without having actually tried them. Yeah, it is slower (in most cases) than Diablo (naturally). Its not the same kind of game. We're talking about a MMORPG and a Hack & Slash RPG. In the first you have to think before you blindly attack the enemies. Think of a strategy, have a sequence of spells/attacks to use and of course, know how much your character can handle. I tell you, soloing a 4 man level 70 quest as a level 69 frost mage in WoW made me feel awesome.
And that's because there is such thing as "not soloable content" in WoW. Imagine if everything was made for solo people: fast action and extremely easy... everything for groups. The whole idea of a MMORPG is to make people cooperate.
As said before me, the really interesting thing in WoW are the instances and especially raiding (i wasnt much into PvP but again, as its been mentioned it can be addicting - and time consuming).
Myself, i quit raiding due to the lack of time (too much work, the days dont get longer unfortunately) so i'm mostly logging on to talk to friends and get a level or two with my alts. When Wrath of the Lich King is released i'll definitely give it a shot though. Its the best game i've played since 2005.
The World of Warcraft has been a replacement for a great many of us. I think that most of the WoW players played Diablo II for a very long time. Eventually it was just a new game from the same creators. We show support to blizzard by playing it and we use it to be entertained with some newer content while waiting on the beloved Diablo III to be announced initially. Now that it has been announced we simply continue playing it until D3 is released. Of course, friends have been amassed on WoW and things of that nature. Hopefully I will be able to drag my friends off of WoW when D3 is released because I will no longer have a reason to play WoW after that.

I hate when I have to wait an hour to figure out what game I am going to play. Oh wait, I don't have that problem. WoW is currently the only game on my computer. I have a PS3 and only one game for it. I don't have time to play many games though so its okay not to have many.

The game was released on November 23, 2004, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Warcraftfranchise. It is currently the world's largest MMORPG in terms of monthly subscribers,[5][6][7] and holds the Guinness World Record for the most popular MMORPG.[8]World of Warcraft currently holds 62% of the massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) market at 10 million subscribers; as of 2008, the current subscriber base for all MMOGs has been estimated at approximately 16 million.[9]
