Using mostly Werebear Druids I've had the most difficulty with Duriel, his freezing and powerful physical attacks are a bitch. also Baal can be really annoying with his Frost Wave sort of attack, but not all that difficult.

Don't try to be a great man, just be a man... and let history make its own judgment. -Zefram Cochrane, Star Trek
Andariel is a breeze. Though I watched my cousin's Amazon have a hard time beating her in normal.
Duriel on the other hand, is really overpowered for an Act 2 boss. You have no good gear, you have low HP, and low damage, and no good skills to compensate for it all. He isn't "hard" to beat, as much as he is a "drag" to beat. Constantly running in there, town portal, buying potions..takes forever to kill him with a ranged character. It took me 40 minutes to kill him with my Trapassasin, consuming around 50-80 health potions, while it took me less than 5 minutes with my Barbarian, with only 1 Full Rejuvination potion. I was lucky because I had really good gear considering my level.
Mephisto is really easy..especially if you have a ranged character..you can kill him from where he can't get to you. I always used to set traps from far away (the area where there's a little river going between you two, you just lure him to the edge where you can see him after returning to that point) and kill him with ease.
Diablo is just a hit and run kinda boss. I never really cared for him..just for activating his seals, which are so fucking annoying.
Baal is a breeze..just a little hassle to kill.
For me it depends if its single player of multi, me and my dad in multi together can breeze past all of them, all you need is a sorceress with static field and a barb. If its single player duriel is the hardest with any class. I have never had trouble with Mephisto. Andariels alright as long as you have some antidotes.
Duriel had a ridiculously strong attack, had holy freeze, and chamber was small. Which is why he is the hardest boss, for both melee and range.
Mephisto is kind of hard to say, since his attacks are also really really powerful, but they're also reallly easy to dodge.
Diablo had his lightning and fire attack, which was a easy KO. But besides that, he is very slow and uses those attacks very little so he's not much a problem.
Baal was a very hard last boss ending in a failure. His clone sucked, his attacks weren't strong and they were easily dodgable, and you also started to use your best attacks and gear. The only problem was the frost wave attack, which actually made Baal challenging.
I think the bosses in Diablo II were only hard if they kept spamming the same move- like Baal spamming Hoarfrost or Diablo spamming his Fire Nova. The only exception I have for this is Duriel, when he just charges you, freezes you up so you can't run, and rips you to shreds with his razor-sharp arms. I guess there's a reason he's called the Prince of Pain
Seriously, Bosses? I never had real probs with'em but I tremble when I see a Vampire (act 2) or a Shaman (Jungle Act3) (Both have fire spells ), They just suck 80% of my life and with all their mignons surrounding me it's a pain in the Arse

Duriel is the only "hard" boss. Maybe Hell Diablo too, but that's pretty much it. The characters in Diablo II were so fucking strong, getting a decent character would enable you to make boss fights a walk in the park.
Well, at least in regrards to Hoarfrost, that skill was probably my most hated in the game:
1) Freezes you
2) Knock back each time the wave touches you
3) After it's done, its hit you quite a few times and knocked you back a lot, and that adds up to a lot of damage
So, when spammed, like I said, this is a real problem. Unless you're fighting Baal way over leveled (like, around 35 or higher), or even then, this is very annoying, especially for glass cannons, which are all I make (except for some werewolves a while back).
And, of course, Diablo's Fire Nova is no problem as long as you have high fire res., but I often do not by the time it comes to fight him. Most normal players fight him at around 20-25.
And Duriel speaks for himself, although it wasn't a very creative boss set up.
But eh, whatever floats your boat. I guess some people just rock at games and never face a challenge, and others, like me, for some reason can be in the same circumstances and still suck like hell
durry all the way, specially when ladder resets and u get to durry he is hard and the closed space, holy freeze, and his speed make him really hard to play
On a strictly 1 on 1 fight with the bosses.... I would say Baal is the hardest. He can Freeze, Knock back, magic maiden, and duplicate himself.
Easily the winner IMO.

Yup Duriel, royal pain in the azz. The only character I could beat Duriel with without dying (because you have nowhere to run) was the Necromancer and a legion of undead to bum-rush him. If you got a lot of bones working on him with a few extra thrown into mastery, well you could take him in shot.
That of course didn't work too good on Diablo thow, he would just blow fire and that was that for the skellies. LOL!
The 2 that voted for Andariel were probably looking at her breasts and got distracted, that will kill you every time.
Well, Duriel is strong but Diablo and Baal are too.
The hardest boss in the game is Baal... On all difficulties.
The reason why Baal is harder than diablo (in normal):
I made a javazon in SP, reached diablo, fought him, got owned by his fire dmg in 1 sec. Went to act 2, bougth a 3 socketed kite shield, placed 2 flawed rubies and 1 ruby on it, went to fight diablo, and he didnt dmg me at all.
Baal has more elements, mana drian, clone, and a strong melee attack...

I always found Duriel to biggest pain because there is no where to run in that room hardly. So unless your character is ready for a head on fight you will die many times against Duriel. To me that kind of sucked because from Act I to Act II you are shaping your character to fight just Duriel.
With Diablo, his fire patterns are predictable and you can out run them as you pluck away at him, if you need a break he won't follow you too far. Baal won't follow you either if you need a break. I loved the because you could build an army of skellies that could overwhelm him to the point where he couldn't even attack. All you basically had to do was eat popcorn and enjoy the show.

The most challenging boss, I found was the Defiler in hellfire.
Easily the winner IMO.
