Allow destructibles to damage players in Hardcore. This would be a tremendous addition to Hardcore gameplay. Blizzard said they won't add it due to potential Blizzard griefing, which I understand for Normal Mode, but in Hardcore this is a very appropriate feature. It would make PVE more exciting.
That would allow griefing in Hardcore then....then when someones at 1 hp and someone blows something up on purpose to kill them then make them start over again...

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
I think a stun would probably be better
As for griefing... similar experience can also happen for example a monk who doesn't heal teammates when they are about to die. It really all depends on the people. I think if it was implemented, people will learn to avoid the dangers, and recognize them over time of their play.

You've never raided in World of Warcraft have you?

agreed. alot of people are butt hurt that you cant grief players in hardcore or in softcore anymore with world pvp. so this will be their new way of griefing people, pretend to help them and kill them with a destructible when they are low. it would happen constantly. terrible idea.

"once the pretty hardcore gamers we had testing inferno found it fairly difficult, we then we doubled it" -trolololol jay wilson
Right now in normal mode, walls falling on you do no damage. It could be that in nightmare ,hell and inferno they will. It may not necessarily be a hardcore thing.
It's extremely weird to see walls and stuff falling on you but doing no damage at all.
I think it should defenetly damage players (both HC and SC!).
I think the enviorment should work both ways. Imothats theres huge importance, gameplay wise:
Right now "bunch of zombies feasting on a body right under a falling wall. You damage it and kill the zombies". The game sets the trap perfectly for you, you just go there and trigger it without any effort and get some extra kills. It's pretty pathetic how the game tryes to makes you feel rewarded for doing nothing.
Now, go there, trigger the trap and try to scape from it... At least i scaped from certain danger...
And this thread is the exact reason I will be playing solo or with friends.
"Lolz i killd you cause i'm a douchebag mcasshat"
Especially in HC where some random can come in and kill you forcing you to start from scratch just because he felt like it? I'm glad they removed the ability to agro someone because in D2 I've had many encounters where some douche nozzle will join, agro us from town and WP to us and slaughter us all as a twinked lvl 60 while we're all running alts at lvl 19-20 saying "Hurr 4 lvl 20's should kill me easy!" Then when I join with my level 80 and fuck him up he runs and says "Hey you're 20 levels ahead of me thats why I run hurr!"
Just by playing the beta alone I can easily tell you that environments such as walls having any sort of negative impact on any player would be terrible. First of all, it would SEVERELY render the feature useless for melee characters like the barb or monk because they can't ever hit them and get away in time. Also, there's plenty of times in the beta where an aoe skill might accidentally hit the wall. It's not something you feel like you should watch out for, it's something you feel like hitting to crush a group of monster instantly if you want to.

This. I'm super jaded about HC multiplayer because I've lost to many characters in the maggot lair because of others.
Losing a character to destructible environment is lame. Griefing will always happen in almost every game!
Why is enviorment any different from monsters?
Why can't I kite a aoe monster (like mortar rare monster) and kill my allies ?
The game mode is cooperative for a reason. It means people have to cooperate or die. Throw enviorment on allies is not cooperate.
In other words, it doesn't matter. Dying because a allie didn't pick a health globe in the right time or because he killed a harvester right when you're low on health or because he used the envirment again you... Playing with noobs or griefers WILL get you killed.
Just stay away from traps the same way you have to stay away from exploding monsters. Simple enough.
Adding artificial difficulty to "Hardcore" defeats the purpose of it.
The thing that makes Hardcore difficult, is the fact that you only get one chance, and adding in random new elements that don't exist in the normal game for the sake of difficulty would only annoy people.
Nothing needs to change, the game will be hard enough in that you can't rush ahead and will be forced to think about where you are going and what you are fighting, and the risk vs reward, not whether your randomly slung spell is going to hit a tree causing it to explode and the splinters kill you.

It would be appropriate in softcore, not hardcore in my opinion, you basically can get PK'd by your own group if your low on HP and some jerk decides to be creative, it would just create griefing and noting good would come out of it, that is my opinion at least.
...at least they should make it optional, for those who like to keep a more realistic feel, adding some damage from the taps.
How do you make that optional for hardcore? this would just cause problems, people joining games without noticing it being on and dying, it would get abused, and why would you want to increase your chances of dying when not everyone is forced into it?
Destructible environments hurting players would punish people for playing melee oriented classes.
I did not think of that, good point.
Luckily this will never happen since it would create a lot of problems just for the sake of making the game more realistic, this is a fantasy game, its not supposed to be realistic
