its a good chance diablo could be in female form this time around. In Black Soulstone video Leah is standing in the room with 6 of the Evils while the main red chair that is clearly meant for Diablo is empty. Then Azmodan says things to Leah like "YOU thought you were so clever" and "That You'd outwitted us all" and "OUR bretheren fell into YOUR trap". so im pretty sure diablo is posessing Leah just as he did the hero of tristram to make his way across the world in Diablo 2, so no reason he cant emerge in a female form.
so who else thinks that there will be some sort of helper percentage buff somewhere in the middle of that fight?
This. I'm betting there are mechanics (one of the achievements for the Butcher hints that there might be one) for some of these fights to inflate our damage or increase their damage taken. Regardless, we're in for some long fights
I think it's a mix of people underestimating the amount of damage we will really be doing, and mechanics of the fights that give us a boost.
If you look at the affixes lists and such, its perfectly possible for us to be doing quite a bit of damage.
Blizzard has also said that they don't think it is fun for us to be in one fight for too long. They thought that 16 minutes was too long for a heroic boss fight in WoW, and I don't think that they will create a boss fight that will be much longer then that. There will be mechanics that increase our damage, or cause damage to them or something like that to help out.
I'm thinking we'll be doing close to 70-80k damage by the end of Inferno.
I'm also speculating that we'll be in the 70-80k health range as well. As the affixes for vitality make it look like we can get quite a bit of health.

Conclusion: So we are looking at 152k+ total Damage per second to get this achievement in Single player.
i like how you said that number will never be reached. :facepalm:. people will farm endlessly to create perfect or near perfect rolled items and the ranges are high but it took me all of a day to get perfect rolled maximum thorn dmg in the beta (yaya oMfG dont compare beta n00b). just sayin its not even close to impossible and someone dedicated to getting that number will come close in a short amount of time
