I think its meant to test the new items, they added in...but ya I hope it gets better. As far as I can see dod is really good for solo, and monks, barbs are owning group play strangely...I hope it balances out though because I hate melee class...
He does have a point though. That drop rate is completely retarded. They could just make vendors sell the new items for fuck's sake. How many times have this been brought up? The insane drop rates really bring all the noobs to PTR because they enjoy the game that way.. .I've seen many people claiming that "this is how d3 should be" - With the 2k% mf buff... That's just retarded. Fuck PTR, can't do shit while the buff is on.
just found out alot of people are num locking ability's and sitting ina corner casting ability's while they go to sleep or do w/e so they never leave there game keeping it locked for them so maybe make a time restiction like 2-3 hours before getting kicked and haveing to q again?
Actually, I think we need to only allow people who have paid for the ROS to play PTR. Currently I know of 5 people who only have starter edition and PTR.

With clans like <Quick Join> I don't see why that is even necessary
Selling all the new Items/reworked Sets at a Vendor wouldnt help. Its even easier to get all the items imo. Wont be any difference in regards of Q Times. The Problem is just the limited amount of players/open games on PTR. Since all 3 Regions loggin on the same PTR Servers on US thats even more the bottleneck.
Setup PTR Servers on all 3 Regions. You can only connect to the PTR where you BNET Account is registered. Should be much better in Terms of Q Times. Blizzard just needs to take care of 3 different PTR Installs which is just a question of menpower aka money.
It would also help if some people would just opt out and choose to wait until things settle. Then get in and do your testing.
All of this reminds me of those videos we see with 1,000 people trampling each other on Black Friday to get into a store with only so many goods to sell. It sounds like this is being handled poorly by both Blizzard AND the players.
On another note; There sure is a lot of excitement about 2.3. I mean to say, this kinda thing happens every time in PTR, but something feels different this time....more hype and player excitement.
Anywho....my advice to people is to just carry on as usual and try the PTR here soon when things cool off.

The difference is that on Black Friday there are in fact only limited offers available (I guess at least, we don't have that kind of crazy stuff here) and it's "first come serve". You don't miss *anything* by playing right now that you can't get in a week... in fact, in a week you get everything plus a few bugs fixed and a better experience because lower (or no) queues and less (or no) lag. Just watch streams of PTR for now and play on live until the buff is gone.

I've never done a PTR before, mainly because I want a new patch to be entirely new to me when it goes live. Never was the kid that peeked at his Christmas presents early.
I am wanting to do this one, to get familiarized so I can enjoy my first HC season with some prior knowledge of how everything is working.
But....I'll wait. There's no hurry, and I simply don't get the anger and entitlement, as if this is a paid version of the game. I understand people are frustrated, but that frustration is easily abated by opting out and waiting a week or so.
2.3 isn't going to go live for a considerable amount of time yet, so the sense of pressure to get in NOW.....I don't understand it. People ARE testing it, and PTR is slogging forward. That's all that really matters.
A significant ammount of players log on to the PTR solely for the reason of having the crazy mf buff and that, on itself is one of the most retarded things ever that Blizzard has a hand in creating and not fixing. They barely fix shit anyway, how many times have we had bugs on PTR that went to live without being fixed?
Patch looks great i just hate PTRs... and people...

There is merit to that buff though. It circumvents RnG and helps assure that every item hits the ground all over the realm. They cannot test items if they don't fall.
From a Blue;
"As others have pointed out, it's likely that the buff to the Legendary drop rate is also affecting queue times. While we're maintaining it right now so that we can quickly identify issues players find between Legendary items and Kanai's Cube, we'll be deactivating it again later, which should further help alleviate queue times."
This is both an acknowledgement that they understand it is problematic to some end, but also an inference that it is necessary for their process. However, I feel Blizzard could do more to prevent exploitation of mechanics which see people locking themselves in the PTR. As well, it seems many that are getting in, aren't able to dig in and fully test various new systems because they have to reset the game, which enters them right back into queue.

I have to respectfully disagree with you.
If the legos were sold by vendors, I think people would lose interest real fast. Just my opinion, but I think the vast majority of folks that are flooding the PTR for the drop buff, just want to run around seeing all those beams and hearing clang after clang. If you remove that element, I strongly feel that folks lagging the PTR will get bored MUCH faster and leave.
take away the 3000% increased loot drops so the scrubs will gtfo and the people that actually want to test can do so

How long did the buff last for the previous PTR?
@MacGregor3:
You have my condolences. Next week they said for what that's worth.
"We", "Everyone" - Argumentum ad populum. "You people" - Argumentum ad hominem. "Your dumb" - Contractionem absum.

I was invited to a ptr last night and it seemed zdps wd is almost dead. The lockdown effect lasted 2 seconds maybe..
I wouldnt call turning the game into a monk barb hack n slash...fixing anything.
Well its still early in ptr..but the ptr leaderboards speak for themselves. If the game turns into a melee only im not sure if ill be back.
That was the intention, they don't want perma CC builds. If you read the patch notes they explain the changes.
think the buff isnt hindering people to play it is just people who hindering people to play
Before this leg drop buff. There were q times but nothing like this. As said you be able to vendor items on ptr. Or auto have every passive unlocked..
