Since this may be the biggest Diablo forum out there, I have concluded that we should all create ideas and submit them in one, formal letter to Blizzard, or whomever it may concern.

I am making this thread in hopes that Blizzard or whomever will reconsider some decisions they have made. The game is still early in development, so we have plenty of time to get this this completed.
I agree. I think that they need to return to what made them so successful, instead of trying to change every aspect of the game. The armor looks almost as bad as the colors are bright.
Biggest problem is the cartoony graphics, imo.
They need to look more realistic like Diablo 2.
Other than that, I think they're capable of making a good game with excellent gameplay/ features.

"[Diablo1+2] obviously had the gothic look to it, but, you they weren't, they weren't very uh, very colorful games."
"We want to take dark as an emotion, rather than an actual color art choice." -Rob Pardo
"Why the hell shouldn't it be for 'kiddies', it's a goddamn game afterall." -lethlan
I am also against the graphics, but I am unsure if they are capable of making some good classes. It seems as if they are venturing away from some fan favorites, such as the Necromancer.

totally agree...the cartoon graphic gonna kill diablo . gampley its good , music choose carefully.... other things..dono right now...maybe characters...more atention on this side.
BLIZZARD PLEASE DO SOMTH ABOUT GRAPHIC SIDE>>>WE NEED DIABLO >>>NOT WoW UNDERCOVER!!!:(((
They replaced healing potions, at least, with the new orb system. Don't know about the other ones, like the attack ones.

He might well be in the game, still.

Should be:
I totally agree- he cartoon graphics are going to kill the new Diablo game. The gamplay is good, and the music was chosen carefully, but the other things... I don't know right now. Maybe the character classes should have more attention.
Blizzard please do something about the graphics! We need Diablo III, not WoW undercover!
they should add and arena where you can duel fairly. Maybe they can also make trading games where a lot of people can join to trade items, they could also make like a clan hall where all clan members can join in(this will be inside of a game not in b.net)
I saw hints of RPG-esque damage notification when the barb was hitting enemies. I like that a lot.
I don't believe that was damage. I have a strong guess that it was experience seeing as how the yellow bar beneth the skill toolbar filled up with everytime the orange-y numbers popped up.
A question on this...
Not all the monsters killed gave this "experience". It seemed as if it was randomly prompted after a kill of a mob. However, when you destroy, for example, desks or barricades you are also given this yellow/orange number. Does this mean I'm going to go around dungeons killing mobs and focusing on finding a desk to break or a wall to collaspse so I can level? Seems a bit silly...
I hope charms are removed, because they're unnecessary
I would like for a world editor to be implemented, and I wouldn't mind things like a console version, but I would like these to be made long after the game is released. In other words, just focus on the important stuff.
I thought the cinematic Diablo in D2 looked horrible. Just ugly and disproportionate and clumsy... he screamed "fat and cumbersome cartoon" rather than "strong, kickass demon." It was the only cinematic I didn't like.

I see a lot of people whining about the colors, but i haven't seen anyone talk about the overall atmosphere about the games.
atmosphere is not just about the graphics.
it includes sound and music.
Diablo 1
The game was amazing. Storyline, characters, were memorable (wirt, cain, the drunk, akara, griswold, etc.)(even the dead guy at the entrance of the first few levels.)
The game also had very memorable enemies (king leroic, butcher)Im sure everyone remembers the first time you saw the butcher ("AAhhh Fresh Meat" , shit your pants) and king leroic ("The Warmth of Life has entered my Tomb ... prepare yourselfMortal ... to serve my Master for Eternity !! HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAR")
Memorable because it was scary, though that might be because i played it when i was young.
But the most important part about diablo 1 that diablo 2 didnt have was the SOUND.
Does anyone remember the music of the caves??? - monsters moaning in the background.
Diablo 1 was eerie.
Diablo 2 was not.
diablo 2 had many more npcs. But does anyone remember anything about them? i sure as hell dont. The voice acting was shitty. The music was HORRIBLE.
The first time you enter hell in diablo 1 way different than the first time you enter the river of flame in diablo 2.
diablo 1 - "O.. my . . god.. theres bodies everywhere, the music is making me crap my pants, there are naked succubus (spelling?) that YELL when they die. This IS hell.
diablo 2 - you enter the river of flame - "............ ok....... oh wow... theres bugs in here.... and fire...... yep lots of fire..... and the music is............ ok........... thats nice."
TLDR version.
Diablo 3 needs sound and music like diablo 1 NOT LIKE DIABLO 2.
Please post your thoughts on this.
I want to know if anyone feels the same way!
Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!

DIFFERENT ARTISTS MAKES DIFFERENT GAME!!NEW CLASS of WoW above.
Still, Diablo 3 graphics are already better than WoW.

*After each duel, the winner of the spar would be healed.
they still have potions but they wont be overused anymore.
