Hey guys, Ive got a new build here i put together, the idea was i wanted to maximize the amount of mobs i was killing per minute, and try to shave a few minutes off my act3 runs. It still uses your basic Sprint and WW however the passives and other moves have been adjusted quite a bit. Doing this i was able to get over 80+mil exp an hour, on a per run basis, without fleeting shrine, and only 2 hellfires (one on follower). no leorics.
Unforgiving + animosity (and templar if needed for 8% more fury) will grant you quite a bit of fury per second all the time, hence no fury gaining standard attack. Since your also using a 2 hander, it seems like WW cost a bit less fury per distance you travel.
We use a 2 handed weapon for this build, to maximize each hits dmg. WW 2 hander should nuke most all whites on MP0 and the tornadoes behind you will clean up the high HP mobs as you move along.
For elite packs ground stop is so amazing, you can charge at the elite, free, then pull them in and stun them, free, and since the patch they are actually stunned for 4 seconds, which when your 1 shotting mobs, is a rediculously long time for an elite to just stand there. + both of those moves grant you fury, + a little overpower and your critting on elites or whites like a mad man.
Furious Charge. MMMMmmmmMMmmm now thats some good stuff. I admit it takes getting used to, but WOW can it speed up the run, you wont really notice until crater-bridge-keeps. When your able to charge through 12 mobs, nuke them all, still leave tornados behind the charge (lets you get more than 4 out per sprint) and then you can spam it through those long packs. It is most definately faster than walking.... i believe this is what cuts about 30 seconds off the run, from those zones.
I use a skorn for this, but im sure there are a few other 2 handers that could be viable. The proc off schaefers hits for about 30k, 90k crits, if you can find one with enough DPS.
Leave me a comment, or any things you like or would change, always helps to make the build better. But you should give it a go if you have a 2 hander, i literally changed none of my gear, just put a 2 hander in my hands, and said tally hoe.

Look forward to trying this build out. I actually had something like this in mind but hadn't gotten around to testing it. Kudos to you for making it work efficiently.
Thanks for the tip. I've been using a variation of this with my 2H and really enjoying it a lot. I pretty much roll through MP2 or MP3 with this and have been averaging about 52m xp per hour. Working on getting to a 6-8 minute run, but I just can't stop myself from looking at shiny things on the ground and that adds time
2h suck. yes, faster kill, but cannot keep wotb up. I dw with a echoing fury and able to keep wotb up the whole time. only problem with the echoing fury is it high fear. really annoying.
DW will generally give better sprint DPS and more fury so you can drop animosity and get ruthless back. Overpower and ground stomp don't seem like the most useful skills, I think I'd still rather have rend and bash. As for furious charge and unforgiving, I also find them preferable to WotB with 90s cooldown when playing on lower monster power where WotB doesn't stay up much anyway (even with dw).
Of course while higher monster power let you keep WotB, it still results in less exp/hour making it pointless. I only go back to WotB with cooldown reduction when farming keys, and WotB with bloodthrist when doing ubers.
I keep rend as the 1.5.0-warcry-substitute and bash as my "oh-!@#!" fury generator in all monster powers, though.
Im pretty sure standard WW build can run much faster, kill faster and not be annoyed by any vortex, jailer, frozen things on your path with WOTB. Even on a budget since it seems you want do design a fast lowl to no MP EXP farming build.
Although i like the idea of not having to use a fury gen skill i never really got used to key binding move. If i ever get a extra buttons mouse that allows that i might try it out.
The problem is WotB just won't stay up at low MP, and at high MP the slower killing speed overshadows the benefits of WotB. Jailer/vortex are not a problem when they die in 1 rend (even with DW).
If you want to kill elites faster, rend is better than OP. If you don't need the life steal (you shouldn't need it, as MP0 is so easy), I'd go with the ravage rune so you can almost always hit the entire elite pack in 1 rend.
In my experience into the fray, unforgiving and furious charge added together give enough fury for using 1-2 rends per elite pack without being forced to stop sprinting. If you have fury issues, make sure you are only whirlwinding when monsters are actually blocking your path. In any other case, assuming your DPS is good enough for WotB to really fall off too much, sprint tornadoes should be more than enough to take out anything you run by. No real need for animosity nor overpower, even with rend. Only reason I'd consider overpower is with momentum to help keep WotB up, but when stuff die so fast it's just falls off so fast regardless so I just gave up on it for exp farming.
MP0 actually "feels" slower because you can't keep berserker up, but when you time the total run time, it ends up slower to play on higher MP because of the extra time you spend on killing elites and high-HP normal monsters.
i am using similar build with rend instead of ground stomp - one critical rend kills elite enemy without my influence on mp1 )
also i use other rune for overpower: impact (grants full fury bar in crowd) - it allows to stay in ww/sprint 95% of time, when there are enemies around.
10s for elites is a lot! Without rend I kill them in ~2-5 seconds, with rend it's hardly more than the time it takes to kill normal monsters, as a rend plus a single torando hitting an elite will generally kill it. Rare bosses might take an extra turn though but still die in a few seconds, much less than 10.
I find this build much better than standard ww build if you have mediocre gear as you can easily hit 100k dps with a decent skorn, only problem arise if your defense is very low, in that case i greatly suggest using rend and life steal, it helps a LOT with elites.
Had difficulty with fury generation at the begging, then got better at using charge and never had it again.
Don't get a skorn with LS, way too expensive, get it with the belt. Thanks for the build!
I've been using a variant of this build (switched out Stomp for Rend) for a couple of weeks, its much better than a standard wotb build for mp 0 and maybe even up to 2 with my gear. I tried it with a Skorn, but ultimately went back to a dual wield build with a Sunkeeper for the MF, elite bonus, and overall better damage output. I do have to be a bit more careful with my fury management, but my dps is high enough that mobs still die in one pass/tick anyway.
100k with a skorn is basically like 50-70k with a strong main hand weak off hand combination for sprint/whirlwind, which should be just as easy to obtain if not easier, and give you more fury as a bonus.
leap with stun to hold mobs in place and stop incoming dmg + hota smash for those champions. Works great
How on earth do you get the fury for all that?
Fury is not a problem for me into the frey together with leap and overpower is enough to keep it up. If you are having trouble you can easly switch one passive for one that gives more fury regen
That comes out to a little over 71m XP/hour. To get to 80m XP/hour you would need to shave the run time down 15-30 seconds and end up with 8.5mil XP. I think this is doable, but probably not consistently. My personal average is pretty close to 70, but I've been tracking it manually. I'm going to start using that tool you posted since it will be more accurate. Thanks for making that.
