So its been my experience that greater rifts lack experience, loot, and seem like a waste of time besides leveling gems or competing. Seems to me like the whole point of the game is greater rifts, yet there is no reward besides gems, and once those are maxed its just competition. The thing is if you really wanna beat the leader board after leveling your gems its best to just do t 6 over and over and over just like last patch and then compete if you want to. however, if you do greater rifts to long your going to fall behind on gear and experience. This patch to me seems to be lacking greater rift rewards. at the very least they should give more shards or maybe a chest at the end, the better the time the more chests.

I'm surprised you say that about experience. I've noticed myself leveling quite a lot faster than pre 2.1 paragon wise, even in comparison to T6 rifting. As far as rewards go I do hear you, but bear in mind we're a not quite a week into this patch. I'm sure there are more good things to come in the future and that Blizzard will pay attention to what people think of GR's and seasons over the next couple months.
I would personally like to see a bit more crafting materials drop from the grift guardians but that just coming from a fresh off the lot season character. Probably just being greedy. other than that grifts have felt extremely rewarding. 1-3 legendaries from the guardian ever 15 or so min works for me.
Would like to see Legendary items have a drop chance in Grifts. This wouldn't interfere in any substantial way with the time pressure, because we're only talking 1, 2, or 3 drops per Grift. There are times I can get 4 or 5 legs in a standard rift, I should have an equal shot at such a haul in Grifts as well.

I like the idea of increasing the haul, but what about this mechanic?
Every enemy you kill goes through the standard roll event for an item. If the item roll lands on legendary or set, then it does the secondary roll to determine the item and its stats. The item doesn't drop on the ground, but gets rolled into the loot table for the Grift guardian. This would keep the pace of grifts while making the guardian feel more like a loot pinata. Imagine seeing 7-8 beams on a kill instead of 2-3.
It happened to me that i didn't get a single Legendary from the Greater Rift Guardian, and i was pissed as hell. I agree that GRs are unrewarding and i would probably stop doing them as soon as my gem upgrade chances are too low to justify the time spent into this mode. Surely, if i spend less than 10 minutes in a T6 rift and get 2-3 legendaries average and i spend 13-14 minutes in a GR 32/33 and get 1.... something isn't weighted correctly <.<
Greater rifts are sure lacking in content compared to normal ones. Doesn't the adjective greater imply adding more instead of taking things out?
Exactly. Really disappointed in options now. We are able to run t6 rifts super easily, buff to bounties makes them even less time consuming and all we have in the end are greater rifts, a place where no item will ever drop for 15min, where some items are disabled because they are too much fun (boon of the hoarder, goldwrap, harrington), where greater lvl just gives more hp to monsters and whites can now one shot you, aaaaaaand the reward is the same, no matter the level. Most of the times, 1 or 2 legendaries after the painfully boring process of killing monsters without getting a reward out of it (if you don't consider purple ball a reward).
In normal rifts, at least you never now when will you get something good, it can drop from chest, white monster, a barrel, elite, guardian... And you always have that feeling that any moment you can get something. But in GRs you just need to suck it up and do 15 or more min run knowing you are not getting anything, and then, when you expect a reward after that "hard work" you can get disappointed because guardian have just dropped pig sticker and some random 2h staff.

When you got 3-4 leg in GR lvl 3 in 6-7 min and you are doing a GR lvl 30 with 1 leg that is shit after 14min, it's kinda frustating.
I did a GR lvl 27 and I got 0 leg yesterday...
So if you wanna do a GR for the loot you just want to get a lvl 1 key in the Trial or the lowest to make more low lvl GR run = more loot
