I don't want to start a QQ-thread, just a genuine neutral question: Is being kicked out of a public game now a thing? It happened to me now twice in a row and I am wondering why that is. I asked some of the guys via Recent Players List, and almost always only one of them was angry at me. If you ask why you such eloquent answers like "your shit". That's not even proper English. Here is what I did in the game in question. Please tell me what I was doing wrongly:
Join public game T4
Everybody's trading items
Somebody asks to open, so I open rift.
Start clearing rift, somebody leaves, somebody joins and after 5% of the rift done, we are a nice group of 4 killing monsters at an average pacing.
Half way through the rift, the group can't find the exit. I know where it is and head straight for it.
Party goes in a different direction, encounters rare mob and kills it without dying.
I continue onwards to the exit, because this allows all of them to TP to me.
I can clear solo, but it's not like I destroyed half the rift solo without them. Elite packs require a decent amount of time.
Bit by bit the remainder of the party teleports on to me and we continue as a group.
Game says "find safety 10 9 8..."
Got kicked, yay.
Wtf is the problem with those guys? Am I missing something? Stinking casuals. Can somebody please explain it to me? I consider myself a pillar of the community and well mannered play and skilled player since the release of LoD. Has everything gone to rot or is it something I didn't know and doing "wrong". #wtf
People are dicks in public games. We once kicked a guy for being a demon hunter, even though we were absolutely face rolling MP10 back then. And we are usually the nicest beta-males around, and often spend hours and evenings loot-sharing and helping new players to sort out their build etc.
In hardcore games there are people getting co-players killed on purpose, which I find quite sad. I guess that's why most people stick to their clan or community mostly.
Likely you did nothing wrong except play with random dicks.
Can't answer your question completely but I can share my experience with you.
First, I've never been kicked. When I have to go AFK, I always leave the game. I always try to stick with the group. I do not play on a higher Torment than I can handle. I open more Rifts than I clear, if you know what I mean.
Second, personally I've grown a bit more impatient with AFK-ers, soloists and slackers. Just can't stand all the leeching, and for me being in a public game means that it's a team game.
Yes, this is called common sense and I live by that in every game I play. My remarks may be a bit direct, but they are always constructive (I keep being told). Furthermore, in the games in question, I didn't even say anything besides maybe "hi all". I know it is a stupid idea to play public, but when you just want to kill half an hour, public games seem the way to go. Has the community really become that toxic? Next time, I ll search for a game again and invest the extra 5 minutes to get a decent group. You have my word.
yea public games are infuriating. join a clan. if your on NA server your welcome into mine. <JKZ>

Quit. Doing. Public. Games. I genuinely have NO clue why players bother with them, join a few communities and you never (well almost never, there's always some asshole) have these issues.
I've never touched a "public" mode game in the entire history of d3 and especially with communities now, neither should you. Use the communities to find/fill groups and whenever you find good players then just add them to your friend list so you can continue to group with them later.
That said, none of us can truly say why you're getting kicked but if it's happening a lot then you're probably doing something to piss people off. Otherwise brush it off, you're going to run into crazy people every now and again. I once joined a group and immediately had someone spazzing out and telling me to just leave, luckily they didn't go through with a kick and after talking it out they had thought I was someone that had just left the party. I've spazzed out before as well, I mixed up names of a guy that had reopened my rift in RiF with a guy that was trying to stay and clear the T6 rift with his T1ish gear but I made it up by inviting the mistaken guy for the next kill.
I hardly ever kick people from groups (I think it's only been total afkers until now) but I actually had to kick 2 people today from T6 rifts because they didn't even have their class sets and weren't playing classes/specs that can forego them but me and a friend carried them for a while anyways. When we finally did kick them, we told them that they aren't geared for T6 and that 1 of them (a WD playing a dot spec without jade even though I gave him 2 that completed it) walked into damage every chance they got. I finally broke when they rezzed and walked from open space directly into a laser to die again after dieing nearly every elite pack for an hour.
Stinking casuals. Can somebody please explain it to me? I consider myself a pillar of the community
Pompous, self-centered, egotistical, elitist in disguise much? I'm going to guess you started spewing nonsense like this, probably about how they were moving sooo slow, and killing sooo slow, and then ran here to play the victim in your "OH, Woe is me!!" joke of a thread.

I hope you get kicked some more. You deserve it.
Of course, I am a bit arrogant, because I take my games seriously, know how to play and if I think you play like shit, I let you know it. However, I did nothing of this sort in the games in question. I even opened the rift unasked. How can you say I deserve to be kicked, if you don't know shit about me? I am just genuinely confused. Maybe you are one of the guys who kick people for no reason, too? That would be a fitting accusation according to your logic.
@topic: I solemnly swear I will no longer do public games, no matter the reason.
I have read so many of these threads and still don't understand why people find a clan, make some friends and have fun. Public games suck because you never know whom your joining and what nefarious acts they have planned. There are many great clans out there who are always running rifts, bounties , hardcore etc. Just find one that suits your play style. GL
It's rude for people to kick someone, especially after they've just opened a rift or a Uber portal or whatever.
But I think this whole "dirty, stinking casuals" stuff is the gamers version of the n-word or the "fag" word. I get that you're frustrated because some people dicked you over. I just don't think that kind of stereotypical outburst helps your position out. Think about it this way. A guy could get up and make a speech about racial inequalities, and be 100% accurate, compelling, and articulate, but if he uses the n-word or, conversely, refers to white people as "crackers" it really distracts from the issue at hand.
Ultimately what you experienced doesn't really have to do with a casual player or a hardcore player. It has to do with a few people being douchebags. That's the start and end of it, really.

This really is how public games work. It's not that different from most other games. If you run LFR or LFD in WoW sometimes you get a great group, sometimes it's a bunch of mouthbreathers who have no gems in their gear, no enchants, no glyphs, and have absolutely no idea how to play their class or how the encounters work. Those are the pitfalls of being randomly matched with other players.
got some open spots in my clan if anyone wants - JKZ - totally low stress clan, and we wont kick you. we promise

simple. you didnt help with the elite kill, instead took off and left 3 other people behind.. to top it all off, you didnt say anything about the exit, just assumed people would be okay with it.... making it seem that you want to play by yourself.

would hit accept if the kick came up.
Ive only been in one pug where a player was kicked and it was pretty much for the above behavior. It was a T1 rift, 3 of us were below 150 Paragon, but some tool was E-peenagon 500+ and was blowing way ahead of us and ignoring any party chat so yeah we booted his ass. But I run practically all pug and that is the only group kick I recall and the tool bag deserved it.
Best solution is to find a clan. There are plenty of clans, even for newer/lower paragon players. Problem solved. I haven't been in a pub game in over a year.

I love this type of attitude.
You're clearly a sandbag if he's blowing through ahead of you, so instead of being greatful for the free drops/xp you go full autist mode and kick him because 'm-muh pride'.
Pathetic.

I didn't join a public game since last year .
Sorry but when I join a public game even I am READY TO GO.
Waste 5 minutes of my time in my lobby and you're kicked.
And like everyone says...don't play public.
